Miguel had absolutely no intention of helping Vern whatsoever in killing Beecher, but by placating Vern’s ego by listening to his offer and then getting Vern to immediately reverse of his conviction of being this principled anti-drug man therefore making Vern a sniveling hypocrite was next-level trolling. 😂
I like Alvarez for his guts, but I always felt that this scene could have been his turnaround, his escape if he said yes. But again, his nature takes him on his dark ending road.

Schillinger is one of the most comedic of characters, albeit unintentionally. Some of the funniest scenes with Schillinger are the ones where people mispronounce his name as "Skill-inger". The first couple times it happens, he gets self-righteous and angry, but later on he just gives up correcting people.

Just watched the entirety of Oz again last week and this was one of the best shows EVER!!! 👍🏿🔥 and between Simon and Miguel; I don't which was funnier. This was priceless.
OZ couldve been as great as any of the ones that came after but it went a bit too silly and soap opera with some of the twists to take as serious. especially the character of ryan o'reily and his events became impossible to be invested in after you realize he is untouchable in every way.
I loved Oz and appreciate it even more now. Groundbreaking show. And this is like an SNL skit - it's so damn funny! I loved that the show was self-aware enough to do something that bordered on self-parody. Respect.
At the table when the guys talk about Beecher being crazy, what Schillinger says about the tacos, the desperation in his eyes about to break down and ask Adebisi and Adebisi just shuts him down with no words. Looool. This really is a classic scene.

He eventually asks Wittlesey to kill him after failing to ask every single prisoner in Em City by blackmailing her that he knows that Wittlesey killed Scott Ross, Wittlesey's ex Aryan biker boyfriend and Schillinger's buddy, during the riot and promises to pay Wittlesey for killing Beecher and in return he will keep her secret to which Wittlesey agrees. Of course what Vern doesn't know is that Wittlesey is conspiring with Beecher to have Schillinger's parole sabotaged by framing Vern for conspiracy to commit murder which is what happens and Schillinger faces another 10 years in Oz as a result with no chance of parole.
I love how they all feared Beecher by season 2. I spent a year in county lockup and it was easy to make friends and never get bothered simply by doing lots of pushups and being silly happy crazy.
Well beecher was the smartest one , he was dangerous when he was crazy and his friends as Keller, The muslims, Sister pete marie and the father were really strong alies

Almost every death in season 1 can be traced back to Ryan XP.
Why wouldn't you count that? It's literally murdering him. He also killed Markstrom. But yeah, we never actually see him killing someone there and then onscreen (except in the flashback). But that's true of Schillinger too.
