I got mine directly from Japan while in the Navy 1982 for around $575. Been in storage for a looong time, recently hooked it back up, also wired up Bluetooth. 160w x 4, liquid cooled with a silent fan on the back!!! It is a BEAST, bad ass receiver! Thank you Sir! I used to have 4 top of the line Technics speakers, but sold two. The speakers are nice too, need to find two more newer types though I think.

I picked one of these bad boys up at a thrift store for a song about 5 years ago, sadly the apartment I live in doesn't let me take it over 2 without being a problem on my CM1030s. What an absolute unit of an amp

I have a 7900Z myself. Major difference is 100 wpc and only 2 speaker outputs, and mine has push button tuning as well. I kinda wish they used regular knobs for volume though. I have seen the way they implemented the push button volume and if there is ever a problem with that part it will be a difficult repair. Otherwise, love these 1980's Sansui receivers! Yours is very nice. Congrats!

Thanks for the comment. I agree, regular knobs for volume would be nice. It was cool though to see the meter level rise as volume went up/down.
My first receiver was the 3900Z. Purchased with my paper route money. Still have it!
Got the 9900Z later in life. This receiver was in great shape and had tons of power. Sold it. Really miss it! Thanks.

Probably just some bad caps near the power supply. A professional can fix it for probably less than $150. They will get it back to fully working.
