i really want to help cats like these, i fear that many of these cats go without homes because they’re not immediately cuddly and perfect, i really hope to get a job in helping cats even tho i’m slightly allergic :,)
Its true when you do stuff and see things happen. It feels different from saying things as how it should be. At the end its really we who are convicing ourselves to do it.
She made him feel wanted and loved. This is a perfect reason why you should make sure that your cat has someone who really wants and loves your pet in case something happens to you.

my cats the same way, and always has been! when i first got her at the shelter, i left the room to ask my stepmom what she thought of the kitten and when i came back in our helper said as soon as i left, she’d begun to paw and cry at the window! now at home, every time im not in the room with her she paws and cries at the door and the second im in, she runs to me and paws and licks at me, and lays on me whenever she’s able! cats are much more attached to their owners than people think.

Dude, when I was sick, my parents told me now to touch my cat. I ignored her, but I still fed her. She was waiting for me, at that time. Finally, when I met her again, she rubbed against me. That made me cry, tbh. Even that I was sick, I tried to touch her. And guess what? I was just fine -_-
The most surreal, beautiful things can happen just by someone opening their heart for you. Joonpal closed his heart, because he thought everyone else did the same to him. He looked so miserable in the beginning, and now he's playing, jumping around, cuddling, eating like there's nothing else in the world...And all that just because someone gave him a chance.

Cats can be independent but to say they don't care about their owners is so misguided... They likely never owned a cat or only say such things bc they had a bad experience. I have a cat who can't even be without me when I go to the bathroom. She follows me, sleeps with me, purrs when I pet her... she's an angel. There's cats who may not be as expressive with their affection but they still care.

They're the same type of people to say cats are mean and constantly bite/scratch. That's because they don't know the behaviour of a cat. So many people think you can treat cats and dogs the same: you can't! They're different animals! You can't pet them the same way either. They have different body language and behaviour.
Joonpal was diagnosed with nasal lymphoma in October 2022. Last news I was able to get he was doing chemotherapy once a week and was doing ok. This year he'll be 17 years old, so let's hope for the best!
At the end, that following around looks like he’s making sure she doesn’t go anywhere. It hurt to bad to lose his loved one and he felt she cared enough for him. He doesn’t want to feel bad like he did at first anymore.
This worries me a little for some reason like he'll fall into another episode of not eating or something because the woman who cared for him is now gone and its sad for him
Tammy Ngo I think you didn't see enough cats from close proximity. Cats are very sensitive and can have emotions as complex as humans. This world is just too obsessed with dogs to recognise other animals' emotions properly.
I once had to go abroad for a week, which meant I had to leave my cat behind (left him in the care of a cat sitter). Throughout my time away he was apparently crying every single day and night, and wouldn't eat like he normally would. He only ate one pack of wet food a day (he usually eats 4 packs). When I returned and went to pick him up, as soon as he recognised me, he started meowing so loud and constantly. He was in the cat carrier when I was taking him back home on the public transport, and people were looking at me annoyed, because he wouldn't be quiet lmao. As soon as I got home and opened his carrier he instantly ran onto my lap and wouldn't stop headbutting me, and rubbing his whole body on me. I couldn't help but cry. He wouldn't leave my side for a month after. That was a year ago. He's back to his usual self now tho, but still enjoys it when I'm home instead of at work (this quarantine is working in his favour lol).
Im also worried about what happened to the original owner. He/she seemed to be in really big trouble to run away. And by the way the cat reacted on the loss of his original owner, the owner must be a really good person too. I pray he/she is okay right now.
I hope so too and even though we get a message in part one, think it said something along the lines of hello from (cat's name) mom....i'm thinking they may no longer be part of this world cause if you are already depressed amd then see your old pet in such a condition I'm sure it could push a person over the edge :(
iirc, in the first video, the vet did say that the owner kept telling him she was really really sick. He was in the middle of helping her find someone to take care of the cat. Looks like it was way more urgent than expected.
After dropping off the face of the earth, I feel like she's in an extremely bad situation now. She kept insisting on how she was extremely sick in the first part. I'm happy that she made the right sacrifice to leave the cat with dependable people. With her urgent circumstances, there are little choices left.

I moved 1 too many times. My cat quit eating and became anorexic. Cats are sensitive to things and this is why you never let a cat go longer than 3 days without eating! It doesnt happen to dogs. Not esting causes a chemical reaction in thei liver and it makes them nauseous. So its a loop .. depression then nausea. My cat needed a feeding tube into her tummy and 4x a day I had to squish special food down that tube to feed her for 5 weeks before she would start eating again. So anorexia is serious.
Miranda Brooks The condition you are speaking of is called Fatty liver disease ( hepatic lipidosis) It’s a condition often brought upon by stress. The stress causes the cat to stop eating which then causes the body to start mobilizing fat stores to supply the body with energy. Only with cats the body is designed to utilize protein ( cats are obligate carnivores) when utilizing fats instead of protein some of the fat gets trapped in the liver. The excess fatty deposits cause the liver to fail which in turn causes nausea and vomiting. The treatment is to reduce stress, and get the cat back to feeding. A feeding tube is usually utilized in these cases until the cat feels well enough to eat on its own. Medicines are also given to support the liver, reduce the nausea and vomiting, and fluids are given to reverse the dehydration. Stress is the usual cause but this condition does have other causes diabetes also play a part with some cats. This kitty cause was defiantly stress related! As soon as the stress was reduced and feeds started he got a whole lot better fast!
Yes cats get very depressed when abandoned . You can see lots of such cases when you visit shelters because lots abandoned cats refuse to eat in shelter . My cat was a stray and he follows me everywhere just like Joonpal . And he is so afraid of going out of the house . There was one time I carried him out , he was so scared that he peed on me .

It's a bit dangerous to carry him like this to the vet, the cat might panic because of going out alone and attack the owner severely in blind fear. And I'm sure the cat doesn't want to hurt her but if it panics it might. Maybe carrying rightly wrapped in a blanket is a good compromise, so that the cat can't move but it's not a carrier that's directly tied to its trauma.
@@Noelciaaa I think so, perhaps if they need to transport him again they could put a harness and leash on him + a towel wrapped around that's he's used to the smell of. He'll have to go to the vet again at some point of course so that would probably be the best choice. Either that or try to make the carrier into a cozy space that's just part of his home, make it out to be like a cat bed with treats and catnip and blankets inside until he likes going in there
He is really in love and obsessed with his new mum. He must have been the same way with his old mum and it breaks my heart that he went through such deep emotional phase after she left him. But m positive about his future and m really happy he is happy 😊
Yeah cuz animals trust us immediately completely until you show they shouldnt and even then it takes alot. Ive even seen a cat video of when the people in the house played a video of its late owner on a phone by him he watched for a bit with big eyes and then just collapsed and layed the top of its head onto the phone. It was so sad and remembered the owner he loved so much

Joonpal’s original owner abandoned him and left him to die. He got depression, and refused to eat. This cat did the closest thing to a suicide attempt a cat can pull.

@@Skeptigal1 I was not too happy to see lady got another cat. If Joonpal is jealous, it makes me sad he has to get stressed out all over again. Joonpal wants to have owner all to himself after all the abandonment he went through. Maybe woman thought he needed company when she is not home with him. But this idea has not panned out like she thought. Joonpal was trying to bite the smaller female cat from jealousy. Maybe a few years later this issue has been resolved.
Joon's old family must have spoiled him that much with love so when he was separated he's so devastated. I'm glad he found a new reason to live, I honestly wish that the lady who used to be his family is doing well with her health.

Могут, знаю на примере своего кота. Как-то раз поехали на несколько дней на природу и оставила котика нашего подруге. Так он всё это время отказывался от еды и просидел у неё в шкафу. Отказывался с ней общаться и грустил. Когда услышал мой голос, то начал тут же мяукать и выбежал из шкафа меня встречать. Начал есть, как только привезли домой.
Once I rescued a cat. Every day I go to the college by bus, and he was always there, by my stop. He was soooo skinny, but a lady Said he has an owner, so I thought he was just sick or something like that. Every single day I would pet him and he followed me to college, but he was too afraid to go inside. He was always so skinny and he never goes inside his house, it was like he was abandoned, so one day me and a friend of mine just picked him up and took him to the vet. He made exams and the doctor said he probably didn't ate anything in the last days, so he was getting skinnier and skinnier. We bought his supplements and I took him home. He ate and I gave him a bath, he was so gentle, didn't bite or anything! Purring 24/7! But, as soon as night hit, he started vomiting, I thought he was just scared, but he kept vomiting and vomiting a lot. I took him to the clinic again and the doc said he should stay there for some days, that many food all at once... he wasn't addicted yet. After some time, he came back to my house. He was getting better and better

hes afraid she will abandon her when shes left in a carrier, its traumatizing, that same goes for my cat, he thinks im sending him back to the shelter when hes in the carrier, thats why he hates going in the carriers

But we are doing so much better now ,he is a happy very affectionate, extremely playful (I play with him 2-4 hours but he will still ask me to play with him) literally follow me everywhere and right now he is trying to sit on the keypad as I am typing this :0
I have a feeling Joonpal did not like being in the shelter with all the other cats and that's why it took longer than normal to recover from the loss of his original owner. It seems once he was alone with his new human, he was able to relax more and open up to having another connection with a new owner and rebuild his confidence
Agreed. Not blaming the foster lady, but I can imagine it's hard to get the attention he needs with all the other cats around. Plus she had to force feed him with him getting so skinny. I'm just glad he had a place to go to in the end
I am a 65 yr old man from the US and I was crying as I watched part 1 at the pain this beautiful cat was going through. Now as I watch part 2 I am crying again, but these are tears of joy. What a transformation, thanks to the love, kindness and effort these saintly people have shown to this cat. God bless you all, your efforts have sown the seeds of life for all to see. The hard work this beautiful woman and others have displayed have saved a creature that God created and brought joy not only to this cat but to me also and I am sure COUNTLESS others around the world who thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I'm so happy that he has recovered. I hope that even if people can no longer take care of cats, please look for better methods which won't break the trust of your cat or depress them. Cats are full of love and they deserve their feelings to be understood and respected equally. They too feel mental breakdowns. Jass ' Yes! We have medication for depression in cats and dogs! It works very well. There is also medication for anxiety, plus things like natural treatments and aromatherapy. I had a dog with a horrible fear of thunderstorms. We have them bad where I live. I used a special vest on him for compression therapy. It works like a hug. When that did not help, I also had medication I could give to him if he needed it. It didn’t work every time, but certainly helped. It also helped during his last days before he had to be put down. He passed from complications of an autoimmune disorder. :(

We are all connected and can learn from each other. Just have to look at people having sanctuaries with '' wild or dangerous animals'' creating bonds and relationships with them based on respect affection, even the scariest ones sharks gators etc we are supposed to share this earth together but we know the actual state of this world with mass extinction, destroying forests and animals habitats. At least there are people trying and doing something good.
Maybe it "demystifies" for YOU (and 269 people) that a cat only would want food from a human. For us cat-owners, and generally people who have some basic knowledge at least regarding cats, it is al ready well known that cats does NOT "ONLY" want food from its friend - the human.
His owner put him in the container with a note and left him in front of the vet’s. The owner seemed to have some financial crisis and closed the shop when caretakers found her to contact her. The cat behaved like a human baby who was abandoned from his mother.

This was very painful and hurt the poor cat and she stopped eating due to being so depressed from being thrown away like trash by her old owner. The shelter tried to help her but what she needed was to be loved and feel safe. So they had this lovely girl and her family take her to help her gain back the will to live. Ppl forget that all animals need love and have feelings.
God bless this woman, she gave this cat a new reason to live.

They're the same type of people to say cats are mean and constantly bite/scratch. That's because they don't know the behaviour of a cat. So many people think you can treat cats and dogs the same: you can't! They're different animals! You can't pet them the same way either. They have different body language and behaviour.
Joonpal was diagnosed with nasal lymphoma in October 2022. Last news I was able to get he was doing chemotherapy once a week and was doing ok. This year he'll be 17 years old, so let's hope for the best!

At the end, that following around looks like he’s making sure she doesn’t go anywhere. It hurt to bad to lose his loved one and he felt she cared enough for him. He doesn’t want to feel bad like he did at first anymore.

I once had to go abroad for a week, which meant I had to leave my cat behind (left him in the care of a cat sitter).
Throughout my time away he was apparently crying every single day and night, and wouldn't eat like he normally would. He only ate one pack of wet food a day (he usually eats 4 packs).
When I returned and went to pick him up, as soon as he recognised me, he started meowing so loud and constantly.
He was in the cat carrier when I was taking him back home on the public transport, and people were looking at me annoyed, because he wouldn't be quiet lmao.
As soon as I got home and opened his carrier he instantly ran onto my lap and wouldn't stop headbutting me, and rubbing his whole body on me. I couldn't help but cry.
He wouldn't leave my side for a month after.
That was a year ago. He's back to his usual self now tho, but still enjoys it when I'm home instead of at work (this quarantine is working in his favour lol).

iirc, in the first video, the vet did say that the owner kept telling him she was really really sick. He was in the middle of helping her find someone to take care of the cat. Looks like it was way more urgent than expected.
After dropping off the face of the earth, I feel like she's in an extremely bad situation now. She kept insisting on how she was extremely sick in the first part.
I'm happy that she made the right sacrifice to leave the cat with dependable people. With her urgent circumstances, there are little choices left.

I didnt know cats could get so depressed that they would stop eating. Im glad he's feeling hopefull and eating again. And thank you to Da Hae for taking her time and patience to show him love.
I moved 1 too many times. My cat quit eating and became anorexic. Cats are sensitive to things and this is why you never let a cat go longer than 3 days without eating! It doesnt happen to dogs. Not esting causes a chemical reaction in thei liver and it makes them nauseous. So its a loop .. depression then nausea. My cat needed a feeding tube into her tummy and 4x a day I had to squish special food down that tube to feed her for 5 weeks before she would start eating again. So anorexia is serious.
Miranda Brooks The condition you are speaking of is called Fatty liver disease ( hepatic lipidosis) It’s a condition often brought upon by stress. The stress causes the cat to stop eating which then causes the body to start mobilizing fat stores to supply the body with energy. Only with cats the body is designed to utilize protein ( cats are obligate carnivores) when utilizing fats instead of protein some of the fat gets trapped in the liver. The excess fatty deposits cause the liver to fail which in turn causes nausea and vomiting. The treatment is to reduce stress, and get the cat back to feeding. A feeding tube is usually utilized in these cases until the cat feels well enough to eat on its own. Medicines are also given to support the liver, reduce the nausea and vomiting, and fluids are given to reverse the dehydration. Stress is the usual cause but this condition does have other causes diabetes also play a part with some cats.
This kitty cause was defiantly stress related! As soon as the stress was reduced and feeds started he got a whole lot better fast!

Yes cats get very depressed when abandoned . You can see lots of such cases when you visit shelters because lots abandoned cats refuse to eat in shelter .

It's a bit dangerous to carry him like this to the vet, the cat might panic because of going out alone and attack the owner severely in blind fear. And I'm sure the cat doesn't want to hurt her but if it panics it might. Maybe carrying rightly wrapped in a blanket is a good compromise, so that the cat can't move but it's not a carrier that's directly tied to its trauma.

He'll have to go to the vet again at some point of course so that would probably be the best choice. Either that or try to make the carrier into a cozy space that's just part of his home, make it out to be like a cat bed with treats and catnip and blankets inside until he likes going in there
He is really in love and obsessed with his new mum. He must have been the same way with his old mum and it breaks my heart that he went through such deep emotional phase after she left him. But m positive about his future and m really happy he is happy 😊
Yeah cuz animals trust us immediately completely until you show they shouldnt and even then it takes alot. Ive even seen a cat video of when the people in the house played a video of its late owner on a phone by him he watched for a bit with big eyes and then just collapsed and layed the top of its head onto the phone. It was so sad and remembered the owner he loved so much

If Joonpal is jealous, it makes me sad he has to get stressed out all over again.
Joonpal wants to have owner all to himself after all the abandonment he went through.
Maybe woman thought he needed company when she is not home with him.
But this idea has not panned out like she thought.
Joonpal was trying to bite the smaller female cat from jealousy.
Maybe a few years later this issue has been resolved.
She really knows cats. I put a new gifted cat in a drawer to feel safe too. After a day, he ventured out. God bless these people.

А тут прям разревелась. Девушка буквально стала причиной жить для этого кота. Это так здорово. Не сомневаюсь, она уделила ему много внимания и времени, хорошо и терпеливо о нем заботилась. Котик тепарь чувствует себя хорошо, он нашел свой дом
Могут, знаю на примере своего кота. Как-то раз поехали на несколько дней на природу и оставила котика нашего подруге. Так он всё это время отказывался от еды и просидел у неё в шкафу. Отказывался с ней общаться и грустил. Когда услышал мой голос, то начал тут же мяукать и выбежал из шкафа меня встречать. Начал есть, как только привезли домой.
Once I rescued a cat. Every day I go to the college by bus, and he was always there, by my stop. He was soooo skinny, but a lady Said he has an owner, so I thought he was just sick or something like that.
Every single day I would pet him and he followed me to college, but he was too afraid to go inside.
He was always so skinny and he never goes inside his house, it was like he was abandoned, so one day me and a friend of mine just picked him up and took him to the vet.
He made exams and the doctor said he probably didn't ate anything in the last days, so he was getting skinnier and skinnier.
We bought his supplements and I took him home. He ate and I gave him a bath, he was so gentle, didn't bite or anything! Purring 24/7!
But, as soon as night hit, he started vomiting, I thought he was just scared, but he kept vomiting and vomiting a lot. I took him to the clinic again and the doc said he should stay there for some days, that many food all at once... he wasn't addicted yet.
After some time, he came back to my house. He was getting better and better

But we are doing so much better now ,he is a happy very affectionate, extremely playful (I play with him 2-4 hours but he will still ask me to play with him) literally follow me everywhere and right now he is trying to sit on the keypad as I am typing this :0

I have a feeling Joonpal did not like being in the shelter with all the other cats and that's why it took longer than normal to recover from the loss of his original owner. It seems once he was alone with his new human, he was able to relax more and open up to having another connection with a new owner and rebuild his confidence

I am a 65 yr old man from the US and I was crying as I watched part 1 at the pain this beautiful cat was going through. Now as I watch part 2 I am crying again, but these are tears of joy. I'm so happy that he has recovered. I hope that even if people can no longer take care of cats, please look for better methods which won't break the trust of your cat or depress them. Cats are full of love and they deserve their feelings to be understood and respected equally. They too feel mental breakdowns. Me2. We think animals are just physical beings with less emotion and feeling. It’s touching to see Joonpal can have this much trauma even to refuse to eat. I thought it must be from physical reason like a kidney problem. But I’m so happy to see he found somebody to repair his loss and eats well now.

Jass ' Yes! We have medication for depression in cats and dogs! It works very well. There is also medication for anxiety, plus things like natural treatments and aromatherapy. I had a dog with a horrible fear of thunderstorms. We have them bad where I live. I used a special vest on him for compression therapy. It works like a hug. When that did not help, I also had medication I could give to him if he needed it. It didn’t work every time, but certainly helped. It also helped during his last days before he had to be put down. He passed from complications of an autoimmune disorder. :(

tabby isn’t a breed, it’s a fur pattern and has nothing to do with personality of cats

We are all connected and can learn from each other. Just have to look at people having sanctuaries with '' wild or dangerous animals'' creating bonds and relationships with them based on respect affection, even the scariest ones sharks gators etc we are supposed to share this earth together but we know the actual state of this world with mass extinction, destroying forests and animals habitats. At least there are people trying and doing something good.
Maybe it "demystifies" for YOU (and 269 people) that a cat only would want food from a human. For us cat-owners, and generally people who have some basic knowledge at least regarding cats, it is al ready well known that cats does NOT "ONLY" want food from its friend - the human.
Definitely this ginger leave paw prints in our heart, forever and always :) Bless this wonderful lady for change his life forever.

Yes! I love to see a happy kitty. He may have had a hard past, but I’m glad he’s happy again!
His owner put him in the container with a note and left him in front of the vet’s. The owner seemed to have some financial crisis and closed the shop when caretakers found her to contact her. The cat behaved like a human baby who was abandoned from his mother.

WOW! I had no idea a cat could feel on that level. I will never look at cats the same way again. The way he kneads her when she's holding him.. and the drooling and vomiting every time the cat it is highly stressed....

turn on the captions pls the CC on the screen. Basically this poor cat was abandoned on the street by her owner. This was very painful and hurt the poor cat and she stopped eating due to being so depressed from being thrown away like trash by her old owner. The shelter tried to help her but what she needed was to be loved and feel safe. So they had this lovely girl and her family take her to help her gain back the will to live. Ppl forget that all animals need love and have feelings.
