Thank you! In our first videos, we didn't really know anything about video editing. You can tell the difference between the first 5 videos and the last 5 videos. We just knew that we wanted to tell our story. Since then, we have realized that it's hard for people to know where you are at without this technique. In 10 seconds, everyone has an instant idea of where we are. It's such a great visual. Thank you for the support and appreciation. We are excited to share more. All the best and safe travels! :)
Thank you! We give full credit to our sweet neighbor at the RV Park who suggested that. We were totally going with boring gray in the beginning. Then she said, "Why don't you let the kids paint it". OMG...Game Changer! :) LOL.
Hi Irene! All the glory on that idea comes from our neighbor next door at the RV park. We were going to paint the tiles gray to match the RV door color. Then our neighbor came over and said, why don't you just let the kids paint it and make it special. We both looked at each other and said that is a great idea. We were so happy the way it turned out. So many good memories being made together and so much fun. We are glad that you like it too. :)
I’ve been meaning to say this for a while about the pumps stopping… If you prepay inside at the register the pump will dispense whatever you prepay. Use a debit card with PIN and whatever change you have coming back will go back on the card immediately vs several days with a credit card. You don’t even have to go back inside to process your change. So aim high and pump once.
HUGE tip! Thanks Shane! It’s funny when you hear something like that, it makes perfect sense and you look back at how silly it was doing it wrong the whole time. Good tip as well on the credit card too. Thanks again! Aim High! Lee
I know this is long after , but maybe Fiberglas and resin, then once dry just paint right on the door? Could remove the door, do the repair and then put it back on. That way you don’t get paint on other parts of the Rv.
We completely agree that your method is definitely the preferred way of doing that repair. However, we were total Newbies and still in shock that our new rig had a hole in it. 😀 When we started the repair we were going to paint it Gray. Then our neighbor said Why don’t you let the kids paint it. The rest is history. LOL. We haven’t replaced the door, because we don’t trust that it won’t happen again. The tailgate has dropped a few times already. If it happens again, I will try out my fiberglass skills. 👍
Hi Deanna! We are so excited that you are enjoying our channel. You just made our day! Yes, EVERYTHING breaks. However, we are lucky to have this wonderful opportunity. Being on the road and traveling is so amazing for the whole family. We enjoy it so much. We can’t wait to share more. Thanks again and all the best!
I guess my first thought was to buy a piece of aluminum sheet metal and adhere it with something removable so the permanent repair could be done without causing further damage. Most any home improvement store. The little kids......and the big kids, could still have their fun. OR, cover it with a dry erase board for daily fun with less mess.
We LOVE the Dry Erase Board idea! Where where you when we were debating our options. This would totally have made the list. :) The aluminum sheet is also a great approach. However, flowers and finger paints are a match made in heaven for little girls. Lee is so against it and wants something more manly. Like diamond plate, etc. We don't have any plans on replacing the door. We love the family patch so much that we will probably leave it that way. We haven't decided yet. More to follow.
Might want to have a rivet gun handy. Use a large piece of diamond aluminum plate and rivet it in place.... would be a permanent fix and not need to replace the door. Rivet on an RV are amazing.
Hi Jim! We actually have a rivet gun set and didn't even think of using it for this repair. I guess we just caught up in the moment and went straight to glue something on it. This changes the game. All I need now is to convince Pam to put diamond plate on the front of the rig. She might have me paint it purple. Keep you posted.
Hi David! You are awesome. We love it. When we read your comment, we started laughing about how to get Rocky and Tidbit's paw prints on the front. Thanks for the great morning coffee conversation. If you see the paw prints and they are a little too perfect. We drew them on ourselves. :) LOL.
You should’ve use gorilla glue instead it’s easier and cleaner one more suggestion when you are empty your waste you should have some long rubber gloves just for that and a pair for you to fuel up
❤ The painting is awesome! You guys are such great parents!
I love, love, love your video technique of zooming in from satellite view to your location on the ground. Good work!

Been binge watching your channel -
seems like you are always having
to fix something. On the road it is
always more fun tho, huh?

Curious about the replacement door price vs. autobody shop repair.

Don't forget to add paw prints!
