Eliminating variables like a champ. Getting all the pla from the same day is super smart. Props to polymaker you guys are super chill. Using polyterra myself and never had an issue with quality
Is the Hot-End Olympics still on? If so, I could suggest a rig for measuring wall-thickness on single-layer walls that you could use to #objectively compare max in-print extrusion speeds quickly & with extreme accuracy using only a cheap dial-indicator.
I think eliminating variables is great. Considering however I have never printed anything - except the test models that printers ship with - in PLA and I would think that one hotend could work better for the material properties of PLA while another could be better for the material propertiers of PETG, ASA, etc, I would like to see you test each hotend with the most common material types. Obviously as basic as possible (trans. PETG/PC, nat. ABS/ASA) to establish a baseline.
What a cool start, but non surprising a quick stop. Testing all of this is basically a full time job for a team, it's impossible to do by a single person in near future.
awesome!!! congratulations!! I just had a doubt that came just now: were the differences from before (printing with green PLA and natural PLA) statistically appreciable? or those kind of analysis weren't performed/data wasn't sufficient to perform them?
The Chart at the beginning of this video show the difference between: 1 - Printed(white) VS Mid Air (dark green) for natural color PLA: The max printable flow was the same using the 2 methodologies. 2 - The olive green line shows a green filament of the same brand at the natural color with data captured during printing. Max flow is considerably lower while printing pressure is higher.
@@MirageC yes, I can see that as well, but, when doing sciency stuff, there's almost always a statistical analysis to determine whether there the variability of results obtained is statistically significant or not. Certainly that would mean good or bad news depending on what you're trying to achieve 😆
@@onewa712 i agree, the tests should be performed multiple times with the same conditions to derivative the type of distribution of the results... what Dann and I mean is that all the tests done should be repeated, for example if you run the test to verify the maximum flow of the V6 at 190 degrees, you would have to run it several times to check if there are any variations in the results and so it should be done for all tests, just like Stefan from CNC Kitchen does And i know that just doing this kind of tests once is expensive in term of time and money and even more so if you need to repete all several times, but doing it just onece don't tell all the story
I love the polyterra black, it's super nice to print with, finish is great and it's actually really cheap in comparison to the other options I have here in Norway. 200NOK for 1kg rolls (so about 20€)
blue polylite abs has been the best filiment ive found for my use in terms of high temps strength and print speed... their pla not so much but still great for normal speed printing
Is there a fastest straight line direction to print with a core XY printer. I want to make a outside air exchanger, which will be very simple kind of large. So I wondered if I should place it at a 45 deg or 90 deg on the print bed. I guess I could test a couple of layer to see, but if someone know I am interested.
I have been slowed down by data crunching, wanted to learn python, but as a non programmer this is just not doable with all other things I have. Luckily I found somebody to help me with that :) as soon as weather warms up a bit, I'll be able to start this work back in the shop!
Hi, i see many print video of Voron, and print quality of object are amazing, but not for hevort, for hevort i see only many video show the speed but very bad quality of printed object, please make video you show print quality of hevort, thank you.
Oh, I did not know that such a word was protected. It's derived from ancient greek athletic competitions performed at the Olympe mount. How can someone buy a word from the dictionary? Will we have to change the name for the windows around our houses?
Your should Google it. In the US the Olympic committee protects any and all use. They have sued many people for saying Olympic. Journalist have rules that I think breach free speech they are so insane. They even had puma (the footwear company) sued for having CITY and YEAR following their name in an advert because it could be recognized as official.. just be very careful.

Very proud and excited to start this partnership!
Thank you! Your mate PLA is a favorite of mine.
thank you for supporting this ambitious testing.
Thank you for your support in this project!
Thank you @polymaker
I really hope this comes back to life, if there was a sign this wasn't dead I'd totally sign up for the patreon
Was just about to subscribe when I noticed it has been 10 months! And no update on this, seemed like a really good series and would teach alot
Tell me about it, April 2024 now...
Right? I just discovered the playlist and was very sad to see that its gone nowhere in 2 years. Very sad.

Man, this series is a tease, can't wait to see results.
Have the results come out yet-i cant find them
@@TORDesign I haven't seen them.
What's the status on this project? Is it still in development? Definitely looking forward to the results for the last 2 years.
This is amazing. So excited to see how it goes. You’re so thoughtful and insightful on everything about this. Great job
Great to see. Very excited for the methodology to be fully worked out and for the olympics to begin!

Whatever happened to the hotend olympics????
Absolutely love this! Congratulations on the filament sponsorship and I am absolutely beyond excited to see the entirety of this series!!!
really great work , im excited for the final result
I love polymaker. Their ASA is nice
polymakers making moves !
I need to pick my first hotend for a Voron with Stealthburner so I’m pretty excited (and a bit in a hurry!) 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Those are great news! Polymaker is awesome!
Yay consistency!! So psyched to see where this goes!
We use polymaker at production, quality stuff 👍🏻👏🏻
Love Polymaker filament. I use it daily.
Love their PolyMax PLA. 👍🏼👍🏼

This is great news. You gotta stop teasing us though! we're all rock hard and lubed up and ready to go.
Very interested to see the next release in the hotend omlypics.
Their filament is good just not dehydrated enought imo
Hope to see more soon. 😎

Yo, is there any update on this topic? :D
When are more episodes being released? I am anxious
Do we have a update?😁

Where are the tests after 10 months?
Awsome!
Are you going to continue this in 2024, maybe??

Did i miss the next video in this series??
