Thank you so much! I was so disheartened when I got this game as I was so excited and then I couldn’t work out how to do anything- I don’t even know where the shop is so I turned it off when I harvested the hay- now I’m so excited to go back and try again but I will follow your game plan so I can learn- really really appreciate you kind sir
Thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback, much appreciated, this game is notorious for not have great tutorials , don't forget to check out my full cow guide which goes into thing in alot more detail, enjoy the game!
FYI, if you use the wrapping baler to pick up hay (tedded grass) or straw, it will automatically skip the wrapping part and finish the bale as such. So you can do all baling with just the wrapping baler instead of using 2 different ones.
There's a bug related to this. If you begin with some grass in your baler and then complete that bale using hay you will get a wrapped haybale. This will always be a hay bale, even if it is 99% grass, and it will be wrapped without changing state, does not become silage. This can sometimes mess up a contract by converting a portion of a grass load accidentally into hay
The thing that annoys me the most is when I try and place a building or try and decorate my farm, it’ll terraform the terrain and then I’ll have weird hills and bumps and the more I try and fix it and smooth it the more I mess it up to the point where I can’t even reset it back to the original state. So annoying. Like where u places the cow farm was good , but if u placed it where the grass field was it’ll mess up the terrain that was my mistake 😢
The landscaping can be a problem, best thing i have found is to level an big area first more than you think you will need that way it ensures the surrounds are flat, there are many areas with very subtle slopes and hills, which really ruin the feel.
Great video and tutorial. Wish I had this a couple of years ago. LOL! I had to learn a lot of it the hard way. I've only recently started playing again in "No Man's Land", but to avoid the penny-pinching, I added the Government Subsidy Mod right up front, so it allowed me to have the money to focus more on planning and layout. I did enjoy watching this entire video though, because I found many useful tips along the way, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone that is just starting out.
Depends I guess, for me I like to Harvest right away, especially when playing with seasons on, might get more yield out of the extra day however I haven't tested it myself I know you do get more but don't know how much exactly.
Any Mod barns you recommend? i downloaded one that semi realistic with 80 cows i believe, but it requires water which needs to be filled every sleep cycle, its kinda tedious so i'd like to get one where the water isn't needed. i see the one in this vid didnt require any water, and i read online barns dont, maybe i just have bad luck and picked the wrong one from the mod shop.
figured it out, even tho the mod i downloaded uses the same asset as the large barn, its labeled as a "UK PASTURE" thus its a lot cheaper and requires water. cheers.
I just use the base game large one, tend to stay away from the feeding robot one and just use hay most of the time, 80 cows is deccent and does take a bit of work
I still haven't figured out why my cows wont produce milk! They are 23 months old, full TMR, Full straw, full health etc, but I guess they are bugged. Milk and butter are my last needs to make cakes, but my cows are broken and I don't know how to correct it!
Have you got the right cows? as there are cows that produce milk, and other that do not, they are bread to fatten up and sell. Holsteins and Brown Swiss are the milk cows
@@affarmz Yes, I have the female Holsteins. As of last night, they were at 26 months and not an ounce of milk ever produced. I sold all 45 last night and bought 20 new at the 12 months age. Going to see if that does anything. I got the TMR full and did one sleep cycle but still nothing. I'm hoping it isn't bugged for me and all the money I've spent on prepping to make cakes will be for nothing.
@@affarmz I figured it out! I had heifers instead of cows. Even though the heifers were Holsteins and it said they produce milk, they would not because they were only 23 months and a cow starts at 28. As soon as I sold the heifers off, refilled the barn with cows, I slept once, had 23,000 milk! I’m guessing at 28 they give birth for the first time then become a cow which triggers milk production. I’m also guessing that’s why I saw some solutions for others was wait for a calf to be born, then others were saying it started instantly producing for them. Either way, I’m making dang cakes finally haha!
@@oFuZionExeL lol nice work, I almost always buy adult fully mature cows as i dont like to wait for them to mature, becuase it takes so long, Good stuff and thanks for sharing as this will help other players having this issue!
If you purchase the dairy on the map or build one and place it on your land, you can add milk and sugar, to make butter, cheese, and chocolate, Chocolate is only create with the sugar. If you are using the bakery you need heaps of different ingredients to make cakes etc. Hope that helps, thanks for watching!
@@PhatKatMVP I know i have run into the pallet limit on silver run forest, as all productions had stopped and could not figure out why! Turns out it was the pallet limit for console.

When you do contracts when it says complete dont collect the earnings, get what crops are left 1st then collect the contract earnings
Good tip, Thanks!

Excellent video! Helped me understand mechanics and start off on the right foot. Actually enjoying the game now, lol.
@@celem1000 Is there any way to empty whatever is left over in the baler, or is it stuck in there?
Dont think so, unless it is sqaure bailer, it has an ability to eject a partial bale
i appreciate this so much i followed step by step and now i have a dairy farm and know exactly what to do and how to make money with it

This is also a great video! New sub!
Thanks for the sub! And thanks for check out the video, much appreciated!
Best beginner tutorial! Great job man!

Instead of baling I pick up the loose hay with the wagon and fill up the barn. Any extra I put in the hay loft.
This is a good way to do things also, eliminates the process of picking up the bales, thanks for watching!
Great tutorial! Thanks for your effort in making this.

is it worth the yield bonus to wait an extra growth state on the grass?

Yes you should really harvest grace in April, July, October to get 3 fully mature harvests

Yeh there are heaps of different mods, some really huge cow barns out there too.
I have seen in various videos not to use TMR and to use instead Hay. Does that still stand true?
Hay is quicker, and does give good results not sure on the exact difference, on my lets plays I often do a mixture of Hay and TMR, just depends.
If you sell the big red barn it leaves a HUGE hole in the ground, so be warned as i gave up trying to fill the hole in.
Yes, have been there, I wish they made the build mode tools a bit cheaper. Thanks for watching!
Keep in mind if you wait a 3rd day you get a much larger grass yield
You could attach the tedder to the front of your tractor and the windrower to the back and do both at once instead of one at a time
This is great idea, combining the 2 jobs in one pass! Thanks for watching!
I tried that and it didn’t work had to put the Tedder on the back it only worked going one direction.
@@bretjensen9758 some of the bigger ones are only able to attach to the back that could be why

Ty, and for the sugar, should i look up a tutorial for how to get it?
I looked all the video👍
I just put out a sugar beet farming guide, this is a good, easy reliable way to get sugar in game.
I dont know why but anything i plant it wont grow even on my other save which is for plants it wont grow
Which map is this?
Elm Creek
hi how to make 200+ bales on ps5
I think there is a 100 Bale limit on console, also a 50 pallet limit, PC I believe it is unlimited
it's for pc
I just set them to the side, on owned land. Haven't had a problem yet. Not sure on the number, but over 50 for sure
