nice video, I appreciate the effort and enthusiasm you put into your training. A thing to remember is that learning from students is a part of what makes a number of these masters great.
Interesting video. I'm a bit envious of your opportunities to learn from all these masters. I like how you describe the energy you felt from each teacher. Sometimes it's hard to tell what people have to offer until your feel their energy. Some guys have energy and depth that you can't see from a video. Then you meet them and it really changes your perception about them. Thanks for posting your experience. Cheers.
Good job Shaun. I don't know if you remember but I do remember sending you a PM on youtube when you were with Grados, suggesting you go train with other Sifus and broaden your horizons. It is really good to see this video and to hear of your journey.
Well done Shaun, I feel like i'm the only guy sticking up for you at times (seeing as how everyone of the net are experts), but I respect what you've done. Hope to one day cross paths with you. Keep up the good work.
I don't think you are aware of how much better Emin Boztepe and bayer are than you, even at peak health you couldn't do anything to stop either of them. also, in both videos they are trying to teach very simple things that you clearly can't stop, even a simple indoor pak sao and the rollover fak sao, two attacks that are taught outside of chisao to white-shirts because of how simple they are. you need less of these seminars with masters and more of a regular teacher to teach you the basics again.
Yes Robert he tried to head butt me. He was nice enough to pull back so I extended the same courtesy when I had him in the headlock. Thanks Jai. I always speak the truth.
Yea anyone who touches hands with someone in the WSL lineage particularly Bayer you learn a whole lot. In fact the first day i studying the WSL concept the wing chun i thought i knew was thrown out the window the first day.. I literally had to start from scratch. Props to you man for touching hands with few of the greatest.. I do like Boztepe hybrid style of wing chun. Been watching him for a long time.. But my Fav is the WSL lineage. Take a look at Wan Kam Leung WSL. Good stuff bro. Keep it up!
Dude, Emin is a badass. I'd say in that video, he was manhandling you, you couldn't respond at all - and if you went full force, it would look the same - except he'd be hitting you hard and you'd be grunting louder. All the respect - I've just been hit by Emin before, and I'm pretty large. He barely moved at all and I lifted up, flew back five feet, and landed on the cement on my back. In other words - I know what I'm looking at.
* I wanted to say that only grunting in that video was a good response. That probably would have hurt a normal person a bit more. So no insults - I do think you minimize a bit though how badass that video is.
Manhandling? Lol, its not hard to give little fast slaps like Emin did... but it has nothing to do with wing chun. Emin is a fake master of Wing Chun like Cheung, Kernspecht and Leung Ting. If you have any Idea of wing chun and or trained several different styles, you would be able to compare fake wing chun to real ones.... and giving light fast slaps has nothing to do with chi sao and/or wing chun. All of the EWTO/Leung Ting Wing Chun schools make performances and make things look fancy, but real Ving Tsun Kung Fu looks bad but is highly efficient. (Emin was training a long time under the EWTO so he has the Leung Ting style)
If you are ever in Australia please make contact as I would love to train with you. I have been training with Ian Protheroe for 25 years and always want to further my knowledge and experiences. I am based in Brisbane QLD
Chi Sao is not fighting, but a drill for muscle memory? So, if in a fight you're arms might be in a set way, that the muscles say let me do this for better attack or defence.
I reckon you should do 3 rounds and wing chun spar againsts Jake Mace, he mastered 7 styles of kung fu overnight including wing chun and is the most succesful martial arts scammer in USA making $$$$$$$ and fooling stupid people that don't look up wikipedia.
He didnt TRY to headbut you. He intentionally stopped short, to show you he COULD have followed through... but he was trying to be nice. Instead of respecting that he could have knocked u out cold right then & there, u went and headlocked him. If you have a beef, solve it with words or fight 4real.. but trying to fight from Chisaos pretty dumb. Esp since bridgings already active, and kicks werent used. U didnt, nor cant prove much about real combat ability with WC that way.
i agree with the chi sau thing. chi sau is not meant to be combative and is purley a learning experience, but i understand randy was an exeption and emotions were high.
And finally, if you dont want to be misunderstood with your intentions.. then dont upload vids without comments pre-written first. I think thats pretty much common sense.
Thank you for the video
Emin Boztepe - A true martial Artist
Dirkjan his abilities, don't you think? close mind eh?
Duarte Ebmas emin is the best
The thing is you wouldn't be able to be the bully against boztepe.

greed fox I TOTALLY AGREE! He know a bad wing tsun. Boztepe wt is on another level. Shawn wing chun is good only in movies.

jugerknott09 boztepe is not hybrid style, it is the COMPLETE style. not like wsl style who do chi sao with only 3 techniques.... ._."

Wladimir Illischkowitsch Lenin lol you searious? go try emin. stupid ip chun student.
Lenin On Acid lay off the acid bro. Emin Boztepe is the barishnykov of wing chun. The man would beat you senseless with one arm

I wonder how is chi sau experience with Samuel Kwok's students went yesterday.

Hey Shawn
"What would Jesus do"???
😁😂😜👍
Well said shawn.
obasi try chi Sao with Gary lam!I guarantee that you will not regret it although he is 62 years old!he is on the top 5 wsl. students !
it would probably be about even considering how bad gary butterball lam is...
i agree with the chi sau thing. chi sau is not meant to be combative and is purley a learning experience, but i understand randy was an exeption and emotions were high.
,
the essence and the true respect of kung fu no longer exist
and i thought something was up with boztepe that video confused me.
And finally, if you dont want to be misunderstood with your intentions.. then dont upload vids without comments pre-written first. I think thats pretty much common sense.
I thought chinsao was a drill for sensitivity I did not think it was a notch slap contest
Peach Bran 1980 it is just a drill. People taking it overly serious is problematic.
oh and I laughed at williams, you were the better practitioner, did he even try to headbutt you at one point.
You know what y'all need bro???
Y'all need karate lessons
"Hi ya"
😁😂😜👍
