This kid needs a GoFundMe to pay his way through MIT, if he can't get there by himself and his grades measure up.

The SynRM from ABB is a synchronous reluctance motor that also doesn't have magnets/windings. It has stacked steel plates as a rotor.

To make a VTOLs a reality for passenger transport requires technologies the government doesn't want in the hands of ordinary people.
The battery energy density problem is the current issue for inside the box thinking, but if you go outside the box and start getting into what would be considered fringe research by the mainstream academic community, you would have to look into Dale Pond's youtube lectures on John Ernst Worrell Keely or his SVPwiki, along with Walter Russell and his books and special periodic table of elements and his confirmation in the 1920s by Westinghouse Labs of creating a functional Nuclear transmutation machine. Then there's Eric Dollard's lectures on Nicola Tesla and George Van Tassell. There's the Energy Machine of Joseph Newman. There's Victor Shauberger's research and repulsine tech written about by Callum Coats in his book "Living Energies", there's the Æther physics and Electric Universe theories, The Primer Fields by David LaPointe, The Bagel Game by Bob Greenyer, there's Dr. Thomas Henry Moray's research on longitudinal dielectric waves similar to what Saint Nicola was doing (his short book "Beyond the Light Rays: the Sea of Energy that the Earth Floats In" is a great read for any aspiring electrical or electromechanical engineers!) and honestly I could go on all day but I'll probably tip off something the algorithms don't want you to know and get censored if I keep going haha 🙃 😅 😆
The point is, if you want to be like Thomas Townsend Brown you got to think outside the box in not just engineering but fundamental experimental physics as well, just like Nicola Tesla and guys like Keely and Pier Luigi Ighina and Raymond Royal Rife and Shauberger and Charles Proteus Steinmetz and Ernst Alexanderson and even the Hermetic and Natural Philosophers like Fulcanelli and the Occulted Philosophy libraries of the Theosophical Society! Even Father Ernetti of the Catholic Church was alleged to have built a television that could pick up sound and images from the past, similar to George Van Tassell's special coils picking up radio waves from stations that had been defunct for over 6 years!
Best wishes to any STEM students who see this post and take the time to look into the scientists and books mentioned, ya won't be disappointed! Remember that propaganda applies to all things, science and academia included when the people in power want to prevent a global arms race and the power a true "theory of everything" would put in the hands of Physicists, Philosophers, and Engineers!

The governments mustn't let allow passengers' VTOLs, like drones, because it, differently of helicopters, that can make auto rotation due its single rotor, VTOLs can't do auto rotation, because in case of fail of one single rotor, they fall down! Unless if they have more than five motors to be possible to keep the stability in case of fail of one single motor, and the making emergency landing!

In the perfect world, manufacturers would reach out to this kid to help implement his idea.

In the free world, they will just steal the idea and that $75,000 is the only thing he will ever get for his invention

Had robert in my middle school p.e class back when i was in 8th and he was in 7th.
We knew he was a smart ass kid and was an athletic kid as well.
Was suprised when i saw him in my sophomore year when he was a freshman. Never said hi cuz i was shy not gonna lie.
Good for him i hope he becomes the next elon musk.

Three-phase asynchronous motors also do without magnets and rare earths, since these are two magnetic fields induced in copper coils and iron packing that repel each other out of phase (very simple explained). They have been used very successfully in all modern electric rail vehicles for around 40 years. So why they aren't they installed in cars then? Quite easy, then the e-car, already packed to the brim with batteries, would become much too heavy...

    ROBERT SANSOME , SIR ..!
You obviously are an altruistic youth because you use your super intellect towards making the World a better place...!
Others who are unworthy and unscrupulous will exploit your success to become billionaires and politicians...!
Always remember that, you are indeed a shinning beacon for the generations of today, to emulate and to look-up to for guidance...!
I belong to the generation of yesteryear...!
I hope there are more like yourself to steer this planet towards a better tomorrow..!
USD Billions in your hands and fame to your name, is a millionth times better than in the hands of those who trully contributed NOTHING towards the advent of science, Maths & technologies with their brain cells..!!
    CHEERIO...! 🙏 ❤️

Not sure if this is legit, it's quite easy to imagine how it works in theory (coils in stator and rotor + wiring and electronics). May be I'm missing something (new design or new physics)
