Henry Wade in F1 you also have four tire Changers no Jack man and all the tire Changers are already sitting by the wheels that when the car comes in so what's your point? F1 sucks balls forgot to mention that there's only one lug nut on F1 Cars too

I'm a NASCAR fan, but I gotta say, the video isn't that good. It skips by many details and is way to flashy. Although the close up tire changing was cool.
And if the pit crew can do over 70 individual steps in less than 13 seconds, couldn't they make more than one point in less than three minutes in this video? Too long, not enough content.
What a phenomenol break down of a pit stop. Crew members are athletes that go unspoken much of the time. With 73 manuevers in under thirteen seconds you cannot deny the fact that they are precision based athletes. Awesome video.
I'm an F1 fan, but let me say this: NASCAR pit crews and drivers are absolute professionals and experts at what they do, and deserve the utmost respect. The way NASCAR operates in the pits is in a fashion that compliments the demands of the car and the team. Saying that F1 stops are somehow "better" when we're talking absolutely apples an oranges here is bullshit. So all of you guys shut up, you make F1 fans look like a bunch of elitist shitheads that only understand their own sport when it's simply not the case. Racing at this level of performance requires top commitment and professionalism, regardless of the discipline. A 4 second F1 pit and a 13 second NASCAR pit are two different examples of some of the most exciting aspects of all motorsports.
The lug nuts are glued to the wheel and the studs aren't thread all the way to the end. Look closely and you'll see that the end of the lug stud is smaller than the threaded part. What this does is when you put the wheel on, the lug nuts hang on the stud and you drive them on. The sockets are 12 point sockets with every other point milled down. This allows the tire changer to hold the trigger and keep the wrench spinning as he goes from lug nut to lug nut. Lug nuts are generally only used one time.
It's amazing how that impact has the torque and speed to tighten a lug nut that fast and have the torque to tighten it enough to not have to go in a star pattern and keep the wheel on at 200mph
It also explains why many of the greatest drivers of all time from various other motorsports regard it as the most difficult form of racing on the planet and why most of them have failed miserably in their pursuit of it. Makes sense.

Red Lorry Yellow Lorry there is almost no individual skill involved in an F1 stop. It’s hard to compare a pit stop between NASCAR and Formula 1. It’s apples to oranges.
Red Lorry Yellow Lorry sure F1 wins in those categories and that’s cool if that’s what you look for in racing, but does any of that improve the quality racing? Seems it’s just created a dominating team that has entire races determined by the first corner. Even the F1 commentators are done hiding their disappointment. F1 is broken, the racing is not dynamic, and there’s little racing that even happens anymore.
+William Peng F1 crews have four times as many guys, and they start on both sides of the car. Plus their wheels have one nut instead of five. And they're not adding fuel. They have a lot more guys and they have less to do, it's not surprising that the get it done faster.
EpiDemic117 yes it’s only one lug it and tons of people but you have to be really precise and can’t mess up or everything messes up it looks easier than it does
This is a great explanatory video. Hideshi Matsuda, who appeared as a commentator for the Indy 500 in Japan, said the following: "A good tire carrier can remove a wheel weighing tens of kilograms with one arm. If you can do this, you can work in racing for the rest of your life in America." After watching this video, I realized that the seven pitmen who supported Kyle Busch are worth the same as the seven Dragon Balls.
0:48 I love how they zoom in on "the Joe Gibbs Racing shop in North Carolina" but they are actually zooming in on somewhere on the coast of Virginia. JGR is in Thomasville NC, pretty damn far away from that.

Are we going to have to keep commenting to these f1 queers that there's a big difference between f1 and nascar pitstops. Christ sakes we get it f1 is faster...with twice as many people, one lug nut, and four tire changers. we fucking get it.
+Keith murray Actually, 8 tire changers vs 4. F1 crews can be as large as 14 people (well, have been, dont think theres a limit) Also, not allowed refueling in F1.
True, but there is a few major differences I can't see why NASCAR don't adopt. Even with just 7 men. F1 uses a single wheel nut attachment. The entire car is lifted for the 2.5 seconds it takes before it is out of the stall. Or as with Red Bull's team in Malaysia this year. 2.05 seconds for the entire stop.
+brandon wenzel Lemans Prototype is the one with pneumatic jacks under the car, F1s still use jackmen all be it the jacks use different technology as well. Also, 1 at each end.

during a formula 1 pit stop it takes no skill or athletic ability to do a fast pit stop. f1 crews have over 20 guys (literally) over the wall. nascar has six.

They use a special glue to hold them in place on the rim. They glue them on a couple sets of rims a few hours before the race. Then the gun just screws them on when it's time.
Twice the crew size and a single nut per wheel (which also don't require it be lined up to bolt holes), and haven't wasted time refueling during pit stops since 2009? They better be quicker, lol
Treetop64 "Dude, if you have to ask..." Yes, I have to ask you to clarify what may be an extreme piece of ignorance, my apologies if that bothers you. Again- Why is that ironic?
"he finds it ironic because *he thinks* the amount of science in nascar is minimal in comparison with some other racing sports ;) (cough cough F1)" Fixed that for ya
F1 pit stops are amazing, but their pit crews have 15+ people (3 per tyre at least) and only one nut per tyre. I think it's pretty incredible how much these NASCAR guys do in 12 seconds, and that's coming from an F1 fan
This seems like inefficient showboating, when you compare it to formula 1 pit stops. It reminds me of the dumb bruisers that try to prove he's tough by opening a beer bottle with their teeth, rather than buying a two dollar opener.
I'm thinking the same. Although I wouldn't compare NASCAR with F1. F1 is an openwheel series (the most competitive and advanced there is) while NASCAR is a very spec-fixed Stock car series (some say that that makes for better driver competition, but I feel that takes away the competition of the engineers in the teams). A more fair comparison would be against German DTM (although their pitstops are very F1 like, 3 guys a tire, centerlocks on the wheels, pneumatic jacks build into the car like in Le Mans and so on).
NASCAR has a 7 member pit crew that has to stand behind the wall before the car pulls into the pit. F1 has up to a 23 member crew that is already pre positioned outside the wall waiting for the car to pull in. And F1 has only one lug nut vs NASCAR has 5.
MercOilbuner You want to see frantic Pit Stops? Check Le Mans. Only five guys are allowed to work on the car when it's not in the garage. Sure might take a while for the stop to be completed, but there's nothing more stressful than seeing the car you're rooting for "boxing" for a Full Service. 5 guys who have to refuel, help with driver change, change all four tires and do whatever maintenance is required.
+EqualsThreeable As much as I hate the comparison expression "apples to apples not apples to oranges" it applies here more then anything. First off a NASCAR weights roughly 3450 lbs were a F1 weighs 1548 less the half. Second a F1 ca is open wheel where a NASCAR is more like a regular car with fenders and wheel wells. Third a F1 has 2 jacks and 2 jack men that lift the whole car with air/hydraulic lifts where a NASCAR has a 1 jackman that carries the jack to each lifting point and uses a manual jack. Fourth on F1 every thing is laid out before the car enters his pit where a NASCAR has to carry every thing over the wall and they are only allowed over the wall when the car is 1 pit stall away. Fifth a NASCAR is only allowed 7 guys over he wall to work on the car where a F1 has as many as 21 guys all at once. Sixth NASCAR has 20 lug nuts to remove and reinstall where a F1 has 4. Seventh on a NASCAR the fuel is in cans and is fueling the car is gravity fed, on a F1 the fuel is pumped under pressure through a hose. Want me to go on?? But I think I've showed you the difference, JUST SAYING.
This is like the dark middle-ages compared to F1. lol Also, fucking american TV.... 5 minutes of useless action shots, 1 minute of actual footage..........
+Eric B F1 has more than twice the amount of crewmen, one man for each job, and I believe they can go into position before the car gets to the box, which in NASCAR, leaving the wall before the car is in the box would be a penalty. I completely agree on the TV part though, I'm an American and this was ridiculous how much useless footage there was
+Eric B and still, technology does not make everything better, one nascar race has more take overs than a whole f1 season, it might be advanced, but it is just an overpayd traffic jam, also, aerodynics makes the f1 cars uglier
+Jonathan Morales (Megacooler96) They showed him taking the lug nuts off but I'm wondering, how do they get them on so fast? Does he have to put each one in the impact drill and drive them in or what?!
+Shaine MacDonald before each race we have to glue them on the rim with a special glue we use...which we need for about at least 2 hours to dry enough...and I ment Arca series. Times now for a pit stop are in the low 10 seconds
+Jeremy Keiser I pit for multiple teams from ARCA, trucks, and Xfinity. For xfinity I've pitted for the 51, 70, 97, and 58. Trucks I've pitted for the 1, and 50. In ARCA I've pitted for 7 of sara, 69, 59, 27, 5, 91
Bad bad Pit Crew pick. At 4:04 the air hose get stuck under the spoiler, At 4:40 the left front rim is ready to come off. Legend has it after 10 years they are still practicing!
Need to correct you here, Kyle Busch may have won 8 races in 2008 but he is no where close to the most wins in a single season, not even close to the top 10. Richard Petty has the most with 27 wins out of a 49 race season in 1967, 21 wins out of 48 in 1971, 18 wins out of 48 in 1970. And that's just 3 out of the top 10 all time wins, Petty has 2 more spots in the top 10 wins in a season. Granted some of these records go back 40-50 yrs, but that was when racing was racing, run what you brung & pit times were 45 sec to 90 seconds long.
+jdj62464 ya, even in the "modern era," Jeff Gordon won 13 races in 1998. So I'm not sure where they are getting that stat... maybe combining the Cup, Busch, and Truck series wins in a season?
And NASCAR is by far the most competitive and tough racing association there is. Tony and Juan Montoya are the only drivers who have actually competed well recently while Juan can't even compete for a championship. Guys from FI and Indy have tried NASCAR and bailed out a year later bc they couldn't do it. Bring 10 of the best NASCAR drivers to the F1 drivers and we'll see who'll win.
Huston we have a problem, Nicks” air hose is trapped under the front nose dam at 4:03? Next frames the hose has been moved? Not so perfect? Frames 4:12 jacks still under the car? Hose man was asleep???

They use a special glue to hold them in place on the rim. They glue them on a couple sets of rims a few hours before the race. Then the gun just screws them on when it's time.
F1 Pit crew: Are we a Joke to you?
Twice the crew size and a single nut per wheel (which also don't require it be lined up to bolt holes), and haven't wasted time refueling during pit stops since 2009? They better be quicker, lol
All I can remember is the Epic Movie Trailer Voice from Screenjunkies.

Whys that ironic?

Dude, if you have to ask...
Treetop64 "Dude, if you have to ask..."
Yes, I have to ask you to clarify what may be an extreme piece of ignorance, my apologies if that bothers you. Again- Why is that ironic?
SidewaysGts he finds it ironic because the amount of science in nascar is minimal in comparison with some other racing sports ;) (cough cough F1)
"he finds it ironic because *he thinks* the amount of science in nascar is minimal in comparison with some other racing sports ;) (cough cough F1)"
Fixed that for ya
Back when I was like 7 or 8 Daytona had Daytona USA I got to be a front tire carrier and it took us 18 seconds just to do one side.
I think NASCAR's pit crews are the best pit crew.
4:00 Nick accelerates at 4 Gs? F@%k off he does!
You should watch f1
Because they can do a pit stop in f1 in only 2 sec
F1 pit stops are amazing, but their pit crews have 15+ people (3 per tyre at least) and only one nut per tyre. I think it's pretty incredible how much these NASCAR guys do in 12 seconds, and that's coming from an F1 fan
f1 has 1 lug nut stupid nascar has more then 1 we have more stuff to do on our pity stop
And where do they show how they get the new tire on so fast? That's what I was most interested in.
MercOilbuner
You want to see frantic Pit Stops?
Check Le Mans. Only five guys are allowed to work on the car when it's not in the garage.
Sure might take a while for the stop to be completed, but there's nothing more stressful than seeing the car you're rooting for "boxing" for a Full Service. 5 guys who have to refuel, help with driver change, change all four tires and do whatever maintenance is required.
MrFalconfly
NASCAR compares more to wraslin' den racin'
We need an updated version
F1 pit change takes 1.8 seconds for all 4 tires. Just saying.
***** Well the F1 doesn't weigh 3500 lbs and is open wheel. Just saying.
I know, it's an impressive feat on both ends, it's simply magic the way those lug nuts come off.
And in Formula 1 you have 18 men in the pit crew in NASCAR you have 8.
F1 have air jacks while NASCAR used a normal jack. F1 had 1 lug and 1 man for every tire. NASCAR has 2 guys for 4 tires and 5 lug nuts
"Nick accelerates of the ground at 4 G's" lmao wut
so slow compared to an F1 pit stop , look it up
F1 has 14+ people performing maintenance.
why does nascar use 1 lug nut to make tire changes faster ?
whats stock about 800+ HP and no windows,ac.stereo ?
its like putting a camry body on a dune buggy and saying look almost like a regular car
+John Ryan refueling is not allowed in f1 the engines have to be very efficient
Yeah, shut the fuck up, they got more men, its way easier, STOP COMPARING F1 TO NASCAR YOU STUPID FUCKER
I'm glad I missed all of the cot days
This is like the dark middle-ages compared to F1. lol
Also, fucking american TV.... 5 minutes of useless action shots, 1 minute of actual footage..........
+Eric B F1 has more than twice the amount of crewmen, one man for each job, and I believe they can go into position before the car gets to the box, which in NASCAR, leaving the wall before the car is in the box would be a penalty.
I completely agree on the TV part though, I'm an American and this was ridiculous how much useless footage there was
+. wow. how long did you work on that comment?
+Eric B He is still working on an answer to your comment
+Eric B
and still, technology does not make everything better, one nascar race has more take overs than a whole f1 season, it might be advanced, but it is just an overpayd traffic jam, also, aerodynics makes the f1 cars uglier
Those glasses sum up Kyle bush perfectly
1:02 Hard to flex when wearing M&M's jumpsuit, boys.
or just push drs or kers :) and as the drivers are close matched in nascar geting a better exit isn't as easy as you may think
Why is the quality so good
The M&M gear giving them +4 speed
I'm a Jackman in both NASCAR and Arcadia series and it's a tough job to do but fun at the same time
+Jonathan Morales (Megacooler96) They showed him taking the lug nuts off but I'm wondering, how do they get them on so fast? Does he have to put each one in the impact drill and drive them in or what?!
+Shaine MacDonald before each race we have to glue them on the rim with a special glue we use...which we need for about at least 2 hours to dry enough...and I ment Arca series. Times now for a pit stop are in the low 10 seconds
Who's pit crew are you on?
+Jeremy Keiser I pit for multiple teams from ARCA, trucks, and Xfinity. For xfinity I've pitted for the 51, 70, 97, and 58. Trucks I've pitted for the 1, and 50. In ARCA I've pitted for 7 of sara, 69, 59, 27, 5, 91
+Jonathan Morales (Megacooler96) what would I have to do to become part of a pit crew?
Hidden MVPs during the racing
"They are making a left turn!" - Bubba J
said no one ever
“To a blazing 12.12 seconds!!!” F1 left the chat
Guess which sport has more people, less lug nuts?
@@edmund8954 Guess which sport has faster cars, crazier circuits (rather than your oval ones) ?
@@prajyotmohite2893 The oval circuits are not mine so my guess is nascar
@sstroh08 f1 doesnt have an automatic jack, i think you are thinking of DTM pneumatic jacks
Bad bad Pit Crew pick. At 4:04 the air hose get stuck under the spoiler, At 4:40 the left front rim is ready to come off.
Legend has it after 10 years they are still practicing!
F1 pitstops 2seconds... ofcourse there is 25 mechanics working at the same time.
I just can’t take them seriously in those m&m shirts😂
Even 13 years ago Kyle was trashing the aero packages LMAO “with these new cars you can’t pass very well”
Need to correct you here, Kyle Busch may have won 8 races in 2008 but he is no where close to the most wins in a single season, not even close to the top 10.
What a job you guys have
Anyone else noticed a lug is missing passenger side front tire when he takes off. I'm dead. 🤣
0:48 when you can literally see your house from here.
Huston we have a problem, Nicks” air hose is trapped under the front nose dam at 4:03? Next frames the hose has been moved? Not so perfect? Frames 4:12 jacks still under the car? Hose man was asleep???
Wow, after watching that fast tire change, make me feel shitty on how slow I am on changing a flat tire. lol
