I think part of the reason the Christmas event was so shallow and limited to talking, cooking and computer interactions is simply because EA have paywalled so many basic human activities. With just the base game, you can't watch movies (Movie Hangout), you can't go skating (Seasons), you can't do club activities (Get Together), you can't eat out (Dine Out)... For the event to be really culturally engaging, they'd have to spend hours upon hours coding all these cross-pack tasks, which is something EA can't even be asked to do with their paid DLCs, let alone a free battle pass.
100% this! Thats why its so boring and feels like a chore, because you’re doing tasks, not playing and having fun doing interesting activities. I don’t care to make my sim cook a meal 17x because im asked to . Why not add fun things even like going to the park and build a snowman while youre there? At least something more than cook or play on the pc
I was surprised they didn’t utilize Chanukah or kwanza at all. They’re the only free holiday activities you can do. The rest are pay walled behind seasons. Unless I’m misremembering and those are also only seasons. You can’t build a snowman without seasons. Or snowball fight.
i would love to see the events turned into scenarios after they’re over, so that players that missed the live event can still collect the items, and they still have to do it through gameplay. by combining the two concepts together i think they could do a lot more with both.
Yep as long as they delay the second it a bit people will still do the events and get FOMO but also we could do the stories if we wanted one character to be a more culturally aware person. Etc.
_Seasons_ has traditions that allow the player to recreate pretty much any real life holiday one can think of. There’s no reason the event had to be sanitized to have wider appeal. The issue is that nearly all holiday traditions are locked behind _Seasons_ and other packs. Cooking, inviting others over, and watching TV are about the only base game holiday activities one can do.
I briefly thought they might let base game players sing and play guitar for one of the quests. But no. If they do something similar for next year they need to make seasons base game.
They just didn't put much though on it. They could add have drinks, craft and give gifts, make a party, dance, listen to music, swim, tell funny stories, prank, give hugs, make a new friend... They went only for cook x,y and z.
I just hate having forced events in a single player sandbox game. It is neither winter or Christmas in my game and I already have goals and events I have planned for my Sims based on where there timeclock is. I don't mind an ENTIRELY opt-in event system in say scenarios. The problem with these events is they are trying to walk a middle line between two very different play styles, those that want minimal outside interference and those who are really into 'event based' play and failing both groups by being unable to fully embrace either. Which is why I am a fan of these being scenerios, if I want to play a Christmas based scenario in March, I should be able to. My sandbox play does not run 'real time'. It runs on whatever fictional time I want.
Idk the whole idea of having a “battle pass “ in sims feels weird. Yea it’s free stuff but it almost makes it feel like a mobile thing rather than computer.
it definitely feels like a lot of games are starting to have a mobile feel to them. I wonder if it's because mobile games have gotten so advanced that their code can easily be ported into a PC game while still "feeling" (and I use that term loosely) like PC gaming code
I think the grim reaper beginning was the best with the tasks that seemingly built up to something, but the end sucked. I hope they make a better storyline if they decide that they need to keep going these
I honestly think they just ran out of time with the Reaper Rewards because they had to allocate their time to the Life and Death EP, but they still wanted it to be somewhat related to the pack so they likely made small changes to the event along the way.
I do not dislike the idea, but I hate that people who did not play during the event or it was bugged for them will not get things like the CAS items and traits. furniture and other placeables can be found on gallery , but beforementioned cannot . thus it is FOMO .
past months have been so hectic for me, i didn’t get to play the halloween event. i hate that i missed on some items and it made me to want to play at all when i had the time again 🤡
@The_Tortoise_and_the_Hare i came across a fix when i was trying the grim reaper event. Nardvillan suggests several things to try and the one that worked for me was the going to The Sims 4 folder look for and deleting both accountDataDB.package and the localthumbcache then start up the game. it was still acting funky but still allowed me to complete it. im not sure if it will work for the christmas one since that miraculously has been working fine for me.
if you're playing on PC and are okay using mods, then Mod The Sims seems to always has these event collections up to download a short time after the event concludes. If you participated and did not receive your rewards I would recommend getting them this way. If you're worried about breaking ToS then do not fear, this is all above board. MTS does not allow content that does not adhere to the ToS and are very strictly against piracy if that matters to you.
I don’t mind the idea of events, but I haaaaate that I have no choice to opt out it completely hide the event. The icon keep opening up the event goals when i open the game or go into cas. Like do anything and that pop up comes back. I just want to play with my paper dolls.
That is genuinely what was the last straw with this game. I've been barely playing for years, but those events pissed me off so much I'm not even going to bother installing it on my new computer.
I agree, that is REALLY aggravating. I hated how the event menu would constantly unfold itself until it was completed. And that little box in the corner that stays even after completing the event is also so annoying! They really need to add a way in the settings menu to turn it off COMPLETELY, remove all icons of it from live/build/buy. I don't want to look at that when I'm playing!
It really is like a battlepass... No, we're not battling in The Sims per se, but I'm definitely fighting against my will to give up on cooking the 3rd dish and hosting a 2nd party LOL
I'm pretty sure, like you said, it's about getting player numbers up. I had already stopped buying a few packs ago and hadn't played in a while, when the login rewards went live. That's when I uninstalled the game and was done with it. Apparently I still can't let it go completely, because I'm still watching videos like this one 😔(I played since Sims 1, so it's not easy to let go)
the sims 4 isnt terrible if you just like building and creating "save files" with characters. its not really a game you "play". its more of a game you look at and pretend.
@@BasedCaulfield I liked the live mode part best, I almost never built, used default or gallery houses and tried to make my characters as quickly as possible. I've always been like that, since the beginning of Sims 1. It was fine though, especially with mods, until I was finally fed up with EAs practices. It's more the company than the game that drove me away (although they are kind of connected)
Very much in the same boat as you. Maybe when another life sim game drops, I'll consider playing again. My Simmer friend has also permanently reverted to TS2 and 3.
For me the Grim Reaper Event was pretty fun because one of my Sims actually died half way through my play through for that event and so the end of making the Ambrosia and bringing her back to life was my climax =)
@@michaelajames99 me too but I found a way to fix it.... just had to delete a cache file to reset in most cases. At least the items are still available =)
I disagree. I like the idea of the events, they just need to do them better. Someone mentioned that they should place them as scenarios so you can do them whenever you want or have time and i agree. These should not be time locked, and the quests should be better.
In Animal Crossing, they managed to be inclusive without being washed out. You actually have some bits and pieces of other cultures, not a lot but just enough to make you curious about them.
Two reasons I dont like the events... 1) It forces you to play the game a specific way. I dont play the Sims the normal way so Im not interested in cooking or gardening or fishing or any other rabbit hole event in order to complete the event and get the rewards. I miss out on the items and I have this annoying event pop up in the upper left corner of my screen that wont go away. It's annoying. 2) It breaks being able to start parties "now" for some reason. When you try to create a party, the "now" option for when to start the party is grayed out and it says there's already an event happening... but you can only start the party at a specific time on the hour and that's frustratingly annoying as I like to gather my sims in one place using the party feature and if it's a minute over the hour you are forced to wait the hour. And I have MC Command where I turned the time down to move slower so it's a noticeable problem for me. I cant find anyone talking about this anywhere so Im not even sure they realize this needs to be fixed.... These events are useless to me and I prefer to just get the items from the delivery system they already had rather than to be forced to play the game in a way I never cared to and it breaks other features in the game I regularly use. Annoying. I could just ignore it if it werent for the forced upper left corner pop ups and breaking other game play features...
The Grim Reaper event at least had higher standards set. It wasn't nearly as easy as watching TV or pouring drinks. I do agree there wasn't a big finale. This Cosy Crap event is just dumb.
The items from that event were also just cooler, imo. The ugly Christmas sweater and such feel very fixed to that time of year, whereas the gothic items from the Grim Reaper event are something you can fit in more easily. (Also, the feline eyes are one of the best CAS items, imo, I even made them into a perfect genetic for a legacy challenge)
I just came back to the sims 4 after not playing for a whole year and was very confused on what this battlepass thing was 😭 I was genuinely trying to get rid of is bc I didn’t care abt the items but the stupid Christmas event won’t get off my screen, it’s so annoying, especially if you have no interest in doing the events and you’re constantly getting pop ups for it.
I play The Sims on and off. I'll be at it for a couple of months and then won't touch it again for a while, which makes the entire idea of events pretty useless to me.
YES. I was SO mad. I took the time to log in and do the activities every single day and I can’t even get the items I earned??? It put me off the Sims entirely.
I literally haven’t played TS4 since the first battle pass. I can’t stand this new era with the gate keeping so many events. I can’t stand battle passes in any game but especially not this single player game. TS4 was my first computer sims game and I genuinely loved it. Can’t believe I don’t ever play it now
If senario and events mixed together, it would be nice, like having different routes, and both can unlock all the event items vut theres a story to play through.
i don't like playing the game now because i hate seeing the rewards, i know i won't unlock most of them so would rather just not open the game to see them. i don't play the sims enough to unlock it all but even if i did i don't want to feel like i need to complete stupid challenges when i have no interest in them for my gameplay. I did actually try to complete the challenges but i think i got stuck or couldn't level up in gardening anymore because my sim lived in an apartment with a tiny balcony and was experiencing a lot of bugs and file breaking glitches that made me stop playing for weeks.
I actually like events. Sometimes I want to play but I dont have a story in mind, so I follow the event and do other stuff, but the Christmas event was so easy and kinda boring, the Grim Reaper one was better, it used other packs for the tasks and the rewards were more interesting.
It just occurred to me that setting up these events as scenarios would have made them so much better! For instance, instead of just having your Sims make random food and drink from other cultural holidays, there could have been new NPCs introduced from various cultures. They could come to your door and tell your sim about their holiday and their traditions, and then you could make the recipes that they give you. You could attend festivals based on holiday celebrations around the world where you could try different activities and different foods. Since the point of the events is to get people to play at least once a week, the scenario could be locked so that you can only get a few free items at a time, and then come back the next week to earn more. But you could continue playing with those Sims between times if you wanted. That all makes so much more sense than trying to work the event into my normal Sims gameplay!
Would be cool if you could try features from other packs for free in these events. They could pick packs/activities that matches the theme like in this one the ice skating or snowboarding. That would also benefit EA because people are possibly more likely to buy a pack.
@ 😇 it can work as downloading a trial. So for to join the event your downloading it. Also would help with making the events available 24/7 for people instead with these time limitations
i dont even think you got a christmas tree or anything. literally couldve given you a little santa statue or a cookie plate or present boxes or a train set but no bro you got some wreathes 😆oh and scarf 😂
The wreaths were such a lazy choice. So many people have come up with ideas (including here) that would have been still simple to create but at least a little different from week to week. I would have liked some mistletoe.
The first event : Plethora of bugs, broken. Somewhat underwhelming. Eventually worked with mods. Second event : More bugs, less broken, hugely underwhelming finale. Mostly worked for mod users. Latest event : Still bugged, totally underwhelming from start to finish. IMPOSSIBLE to participate if you have mods.
I hated having to make or buy a death flower only for it to be an reward later on. Really?? As for Christmas, why were so many "traditions" why did I keep getting wanting to watch TV at home?? Lazy on their part.
Truly. In a spiritual way, it feels REALLY intrusive, like it's trying to meddle in eith how I play the game. I just want to be left alone from notifications and popups, calls to action, bids for engagement etc. Sims is my game to DISconnect. But EA has to ruin everything with their shopping cart icons, their flashing buttons and adverts, and now these engagement-farming events.
I can't get past the watch TV with two sims, it goes up to one then it goes to zero then to one, and I had two sims watching with me but when they left it went down to zero
@The_Tortoise_and_the_HareI haven’t been able to get past watching channels on the festive tv. Granted I haven’t tried it on my sim’s home lot yet, but I’m literally in a legacy save with this sim doing rags to riches and he is off the grid living in a tent and doesn’t even have a house yet so it didn’t really make sense to randomly place it on his lot. I tried having him watch on both community lots and other sims homes and neither of those counter! I guess I’ll have to put up a half wall and buy that tv for no reason on his home lot and see if that counts and then delete it when I’m done.
I don't mind these events and as a console player it's nice to have new things. Guess I've been lucky cause the events have worked fine for me. I like the scarf and the earrings from the Grim challenges. They did kinda phone this last one in...super easy and quick to complete. Thanks for the video Satch, hope your holidays are great❤🎄
This is a kind of minor complaint in comparison but I hate how much my sim has to buy to complete a task. I tend to play a sort of casual rags to riches most of the time and having to shell out simoleons for some stuff is a little... not fair to my sim? I wind up doing quick math and cheating in what she needs/what was taken because it's not her fault this stupid event insists on spending money on a bar, then money to make drinks to level up in order to have access to the drink she also has to pay for to complete the task. I don't know, it just bugs me 😆
The event tasks are so pointless. Then the little generic pop ups made me feel like I was playing a game for 10 year olds. Just give everyone the free stuff and be done with it. The grim reaper one bugged out for me but I didn’t care because I didn’t like any of the rewards. I feel like the sims team are trying so hard to make this game into something long-time sim players do not want. I wish they’d put all of this wasted effort into improving the base mechanics of the game.
I did the Christmas event in one hour or something - I had to hurry because my grandson wanted to play. I just had to do it because I am a little ocd about things like that. The Reaper event I didn't do - didn't lock in again from the start that was bugged - until yesterday, where I did the Christmas event... But no, it wasn't fun.
I dislike these events because it forces me to play them if I want the objects and in my opinion The Sims is a sandbox franchise there should NEVER be ANY limited time reward which forces you to play the game a certain way But these events exist just to artificially boost player numbers and appeal to shareholders I am sure
It may be unpopular for me to say this, but I don't really mind these new events. I've wanted new ways to play, and these events have given me a little something even if it is shallow. I agree the death event had a disappointing ending. I do also agree that making these events more engaging would be great.
I mean that was the point of scenerios initially, to create guided play for those into that while the main sandbox remained an open sandbox. The problem with guided events is they are forcing square pegs (pure sandbox players) into round holes (the events). And making it seasonal/time limited makes them worse.
Thanks for reminding me about needing to finish that broken garbage event (had to repair on week 2). Honestly with how they handle stuff i don't even feel like playing.
7:28 as someone who plays The Sims Mobile, I can say with all my heart that it sucks ass, it is not a good game, you think The Sims on pc is bad? Play The Sims Mobile.😭
And some people like the challenge, I play The Sims because I want to relax I don't want a challenge. I don't want to get glitched out of getting one of the items because, the timer in one of the events goes too fast and I fail something that should not have been set behind a timer but instead of a checklist. Also they couldn't tell you to go get KFC because that would be a trademark violation. But they could make a store that was very obviously supposed to be KFC.
My game crashed when they introduced the Death thingy, so I removed ALL the packs, ALL the mods, ALL my Saves, uninstalled to reinstall the Base Game only, grabbed a handful of mods, and still get only 3-4hrs of play before the game freezes to a grinding halt, then I have to restart computer. WW is severely broken, it is what's causing the freezing (at the end of each animation) the freezing gets longer and longer until 'the big freeze' I call it. If the game doesn't allow us to play with Mods anymore, then I ain't playing full stop, especially when it's just Base Game=how effing boring!!!
Its not free when it cost my time! Could not complete the grim reaper reward. And the cozy rewards are really not wanted when I play apocalyptic gameplay. Events should be not slapped in our faces and optional.
Fun fact, my sim died and became a ghost while I was doing the Grim Reaper event, so it actually felt like I was building to something, because I needed the ambrosia for myself 🤣
Yes, I read. I’ve had problems with every single event and I think the way that they’re presenting. It is really driving away a long time since fans. Hell, I’m not playing that much because of it.
I'm pretty sure my death flower plant bugged out, too, but also, it could've been me splicing an orchid onto a spliced pomegranate tree rather than a pomegranate onto an orchid plant. I ended up just buying one.
I adore getting new items for free. I don’t like the stupid request of Jasmine Holiday EVER! The things she has us do are so stupid. It would be so much better if they add nee introductions that jasmine holiday introduces us to that are holiday related. I will sob eat laxatives and take a dump on this game if this becomes a battle pass thing.
I really enjoyed the Grim event but totally agree the rest is just blah, lol. I actually suggested to make the grim event a scenario... and have even considered getting into modding just to do that... It's a lot more complicated then I thought but maybe... Who knows, lol. Still learning so we'll see. Biggest issue other than learning modding. No way could I do it one for one and not have EA on my toosh, so it would have to be inspired by it. Maybe someone who has the skill will go for it, lol.
Definitely no need to play daily. You could probably speed run the whole thing in less than an hour. Though honestly I never bothered finishing because it was boring and in the way of more interesting gameplay 🤷🏼♀️
My sister in law finished all the events. Only to have the game break and not reward some points. So she did everything but missed out on the last 2 rewards due not having the points needed to unlock them.
Maybe this is why they nerfed The Sims 4 Forums. Less players hanging out in the forums and going back to the game because the new forums are boring. It's had the opposite effect on me. I hardly play the game anymore because the old forums would get me interested in playing the game after I had been away for a while. Those events chased me away too. I can make my own fun in The Sims. I don't need that UI trying to lure me away from my own fun.
the sims has always been a game that i will obsessivly play for like 2 months straight then take two months off , since they added the battlepass i have not touched the game once and probably wont again because it feels like im being forced to play the game ... i feel like a child being told to do my chores
I really wish the events weren’t time limited. I like them as a concept, and while they’re shallow, I prefer them to getting the same items with free patches. However, I’m about to have a baby, so it’s just not practical to be able to pop in on the game several times during a limited time period once the baby is here.
If they gon add battle passes they need to add cloudsaves and even cross progression. What’s the point if you end up losing all this stuff cuz what ever you play this on breaks down.
this recent event has been infuriating like i want the stupid little wreaths but the game was just not recognizing that i completed the to do list sometimes the special interactions stopped showing up in the social menus and i genuinely could not finish it without restarting the game to bring them back i just- AAAAAAAAAA
What I like about the events is, it's ended up that you made fun let's plays out of them. The events have been boring but your videos on them have been extremely entertaining Ive never logged in for any of the even awards myself because none of the stuff is useful to me, it's cool to get free stuff I guess but if none of the items really do anything then what's the point
I'd almost prefer like a community-based unlock event. Where if enough people do a certain task in their game, it unlocks the item for everyone. That way there is still a sense of urgency but no one misses out. However, I could see this maybe wouldn't be everyones cup of tea.
The Grim and the holiday battle pass, were let down in the end. I thought we would have had to host a big holiday party with a grand meal but no just email the Events Director about your experience. The items were kinda cool the tv and the game console and the lighted bushes were the one's I liked the best.
I don't really have a problem with time-limited stuff/events. You either play to get them or not. It's not their problem if you don't have time. But the idea of getting them from the scenarios sounds good too. The rewards are basic anyway. The only thing I'd try to get are the traits. There's never enough of them.
Also, almost all of the traditional things found in Christmas, from the supernatural being rewarding and punishing you. To the tree, lights and yule log, and even the hats are pegan. They're not a part of Christmas they were cultural items from the pagan traditions that were appropriated by the people who came here. So no father winter is not even called father winter because he's supposed to be Santa Claus he's also not dressed in blue because they couldn't put him in red. He's dressed in blue and called father winter because there is a pagan deity with that name that is directly attached to the solstice and they dress in blue.
Man Why is there even a battlepass for the sims?! For a single player game i may add?! Like squeezing money out of your player base with divided packs and expansions wasnt enough?! I want to add, if u like the battlepass for the sims i respect your opinions i just in my opinion dont see the reason for it in a single player game.
The Reaper rewards event wasn't bad. I had high expectations for the Christmas event because of it but when it did come out I was disappointed. It was worse than the first one,not even that many rewards and I was overall disappointed. I would hope that conveniently, there would be a rewards event for upcoming holidays but even then I don't know what to expect.
@@tokidokisimmer1750 So the Sims team referred to that BG update as a Sims Delivery Express in their blog post. Either they wrote the wrong thing, or maybe they have changed SDX drops, not sure. But that's what they called it!
The intention is clearly to try to avoid piracy by forcing players to engage with the online component more, however all it ends up doing is the opposite because then people just mod the game to get access back to that “limited time content” that was hidden away…
I wish they would add in more like the Grimm one but with no time limit. Aka you have to do it to get the items but you have forever to do it. I found it kind of fun but I hate FOMO in single player games.
I don’t mind free stuff we get from those events. Some of the objects are nice and I will use for sure. Now, are those events boring? Yes they are. Could they improve them? Yes sure they could.
i don't mind the events but as its been mentioned before everything is paywalled to hell that its so limited and cripples any good activities that could've come from it. on the other hand i think even if it wasn't EA would've still dropped the ball on this. 🤣they just half ass everything and sadly so many people still run to buy their broken crap then put on a surprised pikachu face like it hasn't been a common thing.
the rewards suck too as the spooky one was the cool bike and the eyes for the sim, the Christmas one had nothing good. the log in event was cool as it had stuff.
How about if EA placed an in game store and then after a period of time all items from the special event would appear there. Players could visit the store and add only the items that they want to their game??
The cozy celebrations baytle pass pop up is SO ANNOYING, i just sucked it up and did 2 of the promots because it was literally getting on my last nerve. I legit had to restart and reload my whole game because i had started playing as usual and picked up a strawberry to move it and jAsmiNe hOlIdAy chose to pop up, thus making it impossible to click out of either the strawberry or the pop up🤦🏽♀️. We all know how long ts4 takes to start and load! Annoyinggg
I agree with all the points you make and also I just don't feel I should have to "earn" additional items or gameplay for a game where I've purchased everything. Were scenarios not enough to give players events?
I think part of the reason the Christmas event was so shallow and limited to talking, cooking and computer interactions is simply because EA have paywalled so many basic human activities. With just the base game, you can't watch movies (Movie Hangout), you can't go skating (Seasons), you can't do club activities (Get Together), you can't eat out (Dine Out)... 100% this!

I genuinely kept turning off the game because it kept popping up and I had to keep closing it!!!
Exactly!!!
This! It's so annoying!
@@Jessi62681 tbf i’d be watching satch even if i’d never played the sims before, he’s adorable🥰
That event glitched for me which was kind of sad
@@michaelajames99 me too but I found a way to fix it.... just had to delete a cache file to reset in most cases. At least the items are still available =)
I am so sick of the damn events, I wish we could disable them completely.
I disagree. I like the idea of the events, they just need to do them better. Someone mentioned that they should place them as scenarios so you can do them whenever you want or have time and i agree. These should not be time locked, and the quests should be better.
@@pachimari3420You disagree that we should be able to disable them? :s
fr why is there no way to turn it off
Seriously. I just want to play the game without the event being in the way 😭
This 100%, so annoying
In Animal Crossing, they managed to be inclusive without being washed out. You actually have some bits and pieces of other cultures, not a lot but just enough to make you curious about them.
new horizons was less on that after had holidays out the ears on the 3ds but only 1 day events
My Grim Reaper Event broke so I didn't got all the stuff 🤬 please EA give us the free stuff as a normal update.
My event broke to
YES. I was SO mad. I took the time to log in and do the activities every single day and I can’t even get the items I earned??? It put me off the Sims entirely.
i liked grim reaper event but on last week it decided that i had enough fun and stopped working
Yes!!! After week 2 I couldn't do anything with the event. And I wanted those eyes so badly 😭
@katiyannastivers921 Same
I literally haven’t played TS4 since the first battle pass.
I agree. It was disappointing both story wise and rewards. Most of them were wreaths.
I just wish they were optional, you know? Just to get the icon off of my screen
SAME, I hate the UI clutter
This is a much better idea and would be far more interesting.
Would be cool if you could try features from other packs for free in these events. They could pick packs/activities that matches the theme like in this one the ice skating or snowboarding. That would also benefit EA because people are possibly more likely to buy a pack.
This is such a good idea
But they would have to put the activities in base game for it to work without you having the pack installed.
@ 😇 it can work as downloading a trial. So for to join the event your downloading it. Also would help with making the events available 24/7 for people instead with these time limitations
I thought the cozy celebrations was particularly weak because there were like 4 different wreathes with no additional swatches
i dont even think you got a christmas tree or anything. literally couldve given you a little santa statue or a cookie plate or present boxes or a train set but no bro you got some wreathes 😆oh and scarf 😂
Not to mention that one wreath was the color of baby diarrhea.. like wth is that.
@@jessica1580😂😂😂thanks for making me almost spit out my tea all over the couch
The wreaths were such a lazy choice. So many people have come up with ideas (including here) that would have been still simple to create but at least a little different from week to week. I would have liked some mistletoe.
I don't mind the event's but I missed out on the Grim Reaper event😢 but Satch I always love your videos they make me laugh when you complain😂
The first event : Plethora of bugs, broken. Somewhat underwhelming. Eventually worked with mods.
Second event : More bugs, less broken, hugely underwhelming finale. Mostly worked for mod users.
Latest event : Still bugged, totally underwhelming from start to finish. IMPOSSIBLE to participate if you have mods.
but mods are not official, and EA cannot be responsible for that.
@@Agustin9191 But, mods are essential to actually enjoy the game, and correct a slew of outstanding bugs, some of them being show stoppers.
@@Kualinar I only use the mcc and I have all the packs and I did not have any issues. But at the end, EA is not responsible for mods sadly
I have like 200 plus mods. Cozy celebrations was boring and annoying but worked fine for me.
I hated having to make or buy a death flower only for it to be an reward later on. Really?? As for Christmas, why were so many "traditions" why did I keep getting wanting to watch TV at home?? Lazy on their part.
because everything else is locked behind a paywall.
please is there any way to turn it off it genuinely PISSES me off seeing it all the time in the corner of my screen like it aggravates me so much
My cozy celebrations event is broken when ı press the claim button it gives error and ı cant claim the rewards😢
My problem with the events, as is with most things EA produces, they're just so half assed and empty.
I hadn't even realised there was a christmas event.
I dislike these events because it forces me to play them if I want the objects and in my opinion The Sims is a sandbox franchise there should NEVER be ANY limited time reward which forces you to play the game a certain way
But these events exist just to artificially boost player numbers and appeal to shareholders I am sure
It may be unpopular for me to say this, but I don't really mind these new events. I've wanted new ways to play, and these events have given me a little something even if it is shallow. I agree the death event had a disappointing ending. I do also agree that making these events more engaging would be great.
It would also be great if we could opt out and disable the pop-ups 😢
I mean that was the point of scenerios initially, to create guided play for those into that while the main sandbox remained an open sandbox. The problem with guided events is they are forcing square pegs (pure sandbox players) into round holes (the events). And making it seasonal/time limited makes them worse.
EA would copy Roblox battlepasses and greediness but never their color wheels
At least one was working. The grim one was so friggin' glitchy.
I stopped playing just to avoid the event.
Scenarios are fun, but many people can’t complete the Family Fortune one with the Landry family.
Omg I’m so tired of seeing “cook japchae” I’m not uninstalling my cooking mods just to find that recipe and cook it 👁️👄👁️🤚🛑
You could explore with Seasons how Christmas is experienced in the summer in the Southern Hemisphere... But all the games forget about us 😂
Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me 😂
Yes, I read. I’ve had problems with every single event and I think the way that they’re presenting. It is really driving away a long time since fans. Hell, I’m not playing that much because of it.
The happy at home event was pretty good but after that event, I wasn't into those events anymore as I had to complete challenges.
I’ve moved on to Dreamlight Valley and the Christmas event was so fun and cute 🥰
I think the events are proof they need to enrich the base game
I'm just glad the holiday one didn't break on me like the Reaper Rewards did. I got everything!
Imo bro, we need more of the battle passes like reaper rewards and cozy celebrations with in-depth quests
As much as I wanted that new TV on the Christmas event I couldn't give a f to play the game daily to get it 😂😂😂so I just downloaded cc
Hope your Christmas was so fun and good
I think you could combine the events and drop. People who do the events get the items early. But eventually, everyone gets the items in a drop.
I missed most of the reaper rewards event because my game just wouldn’t open for about a month 😢
I don't even bother.
I don't play sims every single day. Maybe a week once every 2 months.
this recent event has been infuriating like i want the stupid little wreaths but the game was just not recognizing that i completed the to do list
sometimes the special interactions stopped showing up in the social menus and i genuinely could not finish it without restarting the game to bring them back
i just- AAAAAAAAAA
What I like about the events is, it's ended up that you made fun let's plays out of them. The events have been boring but your videos on them have been extremely entertaining
Ive never logged in for any of the even awards myself because none of the stuff is useful to me, it's cool to get free stuff I guess but if none of the items really do anything then what's the point
I really wanted to do the Grim event, but I was visiting my bf in Germany at the time, so I missed out on the whole thing. Gutted.
I would hope that conveniently, there would be a rewards event for upcoming holidays but even then I don't know what to expect.
just bring back sdx drops. we dont want a mobile game.
Yeah what happened to the sdx drops?! We haven’t received any in months, or maybe even a year?!
The last SDX drop was on the 3rd December though, it's been 3 weeks
@@Fragmented_Mask Huh? I didn’t receive a notification. There was a base game update though.
@@tokidokisimmer1750 So the Sims team referred to that BG update as a Sims Delivery Express in their blog post. Either they wrote the wrong thing, or maybe they have changed SDX drops, not sure. But that's what they called it!
I like them and found out a way to trigger them when it disappeared on week 2
The intention is clearly to try to avoid piracy by forcing players to engage with the online component more, however all it ends up doing is the opposite because then people just mod the game to get access back to that “limited time content” that was hidden away…
i hate it and i truly dont have FOMO i never play the events ever i hate them and they're unnecessary
I wish they would add in more like the Grimm one but with no time limit. Aka you have to do it to get the items but you have forever to do it. I found it kind of fun but I hate FOMO in single player games.
I hate them.
I don’t mind free stuff we get from those events. Some of the objects are nice and I will use for sure. Now, are those events boring? Yes they are. Could they improve them? Yes sure they could.
If anything EA seems to be copying GameLoft and their star paths in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
i don't mind the events but as its been mentioned before everything is paywalled to hell that its so limited and cripples any good activities that could've come from it. on the other hand i think even if it wasn't EA would've still dropped the ball on this. 🤣they just half ass everything and sadly so many people still run to buy their broken crap then put on a surprised pikachu face like it hasn't been a common thing.
I think the events feel cheap and simple which is not something that you want to feel as a player.
My Cozy Events is still resetting upon signing in... I gave up eventually.
the rewards suck too as the spooky one was the cool bike and the eyes for the sim, the Christmas one had nothing good. the log in event was cool as it had stuff.
I enjoyed the grim reaper / halloween one! The Christmas one sucked so hard though.
How about if EA placed an in game store and then after a period of time all items from the special event would appear there. Players could visit the store and add only the items that they want to their game??
Also I had a FEW bugs but I could still PLAY the event. However Sims 4 COULD USE a few bug fixes itself.
Just a thought. 👍✌
The sims 4? Shallow? Heaven forbid
i am so pissed at that little panel i can't remove
The cozy celebrations baytle pass pop up is SO ANNOYING, i just sucked it up and did 2 of the promots because it was literally getting on my last nerve. I legit had to restart and reload my whole game because i had started playing as usual and picked up a strawberry to move it and jAsmiNe hOlIdAy chose to pop up, thus making it impossible to click out of either the strawberry or the pop up🤦🏽♀️. We all know how long ts4 takes to start and load! Annoyinggg
I couldn’t even complete the reaper event it glitched after week 4 and i couldn’t move on
I agree with all the points you make and also I just don't feel I should have to "earn" additional items or gameplay for a game where I've purchased everything. Were scenarios not enough to give players events?
