After 2 days in Portugal we decided to move to the Algarve. That was 6 years ago and we love it just as much today. And now we have 7 Cats and a dog.

I’m from Ireland and my wife is Portuguese. She’s trying to get me to visit Algarve, Particularly Lagos. I was told there’s a huge British influence. I’m very patriotic and do not want to be around English people. Is Lagos very English? Or the Algarve in general?

I was in Malibu this past June, and then in Algarve in September. I will have to agree wholeheartedly that the terrain Algarve region is very similar to southern California.

This “Best of Portugal” video is more well rounded with it especially for new viewers and that way it gives them a ton of value! What a great video. Would you recommend visiting Porto or Algarve ? We would not have time for both and we are already visiting the andalusia region beaches in Spain during the same trip.

10:28 Absolutely DON'T do it. It's extremely risky and the waters in the Algarve are very, very shallow. Also the currents in high water are quite strong.
