Um no. People hated the early 2000s Disney Channel. It went from being about insider information about Disney as a company and its history to stupid preteen sitcoms. Watch them again as an adult and you'll see it's total crap. You can't say that about nearly any of their animated features from the canon. 80s-90s was pure Disney Channel.

Disney Channel was pretty good back in High School in the 00's and I actually liked That's So Raven and House of Mouse and the Mickey Mouse shorts are my favorites lol.
I was born in 2002 and watched Disney Channel in the 2010’s and loved it. But recently over the last couple of years I have watched some of the older shows and loved those.
Man, I remembered tuning into Jetix just to watch the Power Rangers seasons. Many fans consider the Disney era seasons to be peak and with my favorite being SPD, who can blame them? Btw, thank you for this video!
I feel that too. As a millennial Jetix on Saturday mornings and during summer vacation was EVERYTHING. and yes in my view Power Rangers peaked with SPD.
Which is kinda funny because Disney didn't even want to even produce Power Rangers. Just air the Saban series in reruns. The moment they sold Power Rangers back to Saban is then when they picked up and bought Marvel.
Let's be honest, Disney Channel's focus on tween/teen celebs was not entirely new. Remember in the late '80s & early '90s, it was the home of Kids Incorporated & The All New Mickey Mouse Club, shows that introduced us to Fergie, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Britney Spears, Ryan Gosling, JC Chasez, Keri Russell, Justin Timberlake, & Christina Aguilera. I was surprised you didn't even mention those. They walked so folks like Hilary, Raven, the Cheetah Girls, Aly & AJ, the Sprouses, Brenda, Ashley, Zac, Vanessa, Miley, the JoBros, Selena, Demi, Zendaya, Debby, Dove, Sabrina, Jenna & Olivia all could run. I wished Disney + would finally released past Disney animated Series like The Gummie Bears, Darkwing Duck, Wuzzles, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Hercules, Mighty Ducks,House of Mouse, Kim Possible and American Dragon Jake Long onto Blu- Ray just like they did for Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers.

In my mind the golden age of Disney channel was from 1997 to 2006 and they’ve slowly and painfully gone downhill since then that there have been a few gems like phineas&ferb which I’m so glad is getting revived soon amphibia and of course the owl house these days the only shows I watch on Disney channel are Haileys on it and marvel’s moon girl and devil dinosaur which I think says something about the quality of their current programming

i loved so many shows on the disney channel growing up, duck tales, darkwing duck, gummi bears, and even later shows like kim possible and house of mouse were fun to watch, even if i was older than the target audience, love these videos many you deserve way more viewers
It started as a channel for Disney, and it was a good time, then it started copycatting Nickelodeon with all those preteen sitcoms that earlier fans of TDC hated (way back in the 2000s) and now it's unwatchable. I hate that the 90s was about animation being equally suitable for adults and now it's all for children again. I guess like with every other topic imaginable, we all have to go back to Stereotype-Land these days where it's easier and lazier.
Dog with a blog and Austin and Ally are the two 2️⃣ best things to ever exist together in a single day. Disney+ and Disney Now are both my favorites and my all times of the year for the whole world 🌎 to watch it all over again in a few weeks after this episode.
I miss their Vault Disney block. It was the best part. Shows like Ink and Paint Club, Mickey Mouse Club, Walt Disney Presents, and Zorro. To name a few. Also, I have an Ink and Paint Club episode on my channel that I managed to keep...All the others were blocked by Disney...Go figure. This is one of the most sought after shows in the community. I feel lucky to have several but I wish they could be uploaded here...

Definitely was a Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon kid; but I loved Bonkers, Goof Troop, Gargoyles, Halloween Town, Tails Spin, Dark wing Duck, Adventures Sonic the Hedgehog and Brandy and Mr Whiskers era of Disney Channel. Not even going to lie, I enjoyed Gravity Falls as well
I primarily watched Disney channel from like 1994-2006, and then on and off from 2007-2010. I have seen some Disney channel shows after that but it wasn't because I was actually watching Disney channel regularly.

Feel like its history is a bit interesting with its original history as Toon Disney, them starting to air anime when they became Disney XD like Naruto Shippuden when the transition started, and Beyblade and Pokemon a few years down the line and such etc

A few notes. Hannah Montana Forever was how they branded the final season of Hannah Montana. It was not a movie. Demi Lovato left due to Sonny with A Chance because her eating disorder.
The period from the 90s to 2010 was a golden era for the Disney Channel, making it truly worth watching. However, with the rise of Disney+ today, the channel's popularity is declining as most shows are now available on the streaming platform. Kids today aren't tuning into the channel the way we did back in the 90s and 2000s.
They hired Brian peck who was a convicted child molester. They hired him for a tv show called the suite life where much of the cast was children. Thus was after he got out of prison for molesting children. Truly sick behavior.

The Disney channel fell off when phineas and ferb ended in 2015, that goes the same with Disney junior/ playhouse Disney it fell off after sofia the first ended.
As a kid who grew up with Cartoon Network, Disney and Nickelodeon, I can confidently say that Disney went WAY TOO overboard with the celebrities. I guess because I tend to prefer animation, I've BARELY tuned into Disney in late 2000's.
That was my main gripe too. Though the early 2010s era didn’t exactly age well, at least that was when the network actually started to have variety again.
10:47 I liked Boy Meets World and I even like the first two seasons of Girl Meets World, but the problem GMW had (at least for me) was that it started off as it own show, which I think worked well for it, but then during it third season GMW threw that formula out the window and tried to clone BMW which killed the show for me, now had it tried that formula from the start like Fuller House did, it could of worked and not been such a drastic change.
Disney Channel will always, hopefully, live on, even if cable and linear TV as a whole, is in decline right now, bro! And you mean "Disney Channel: The Rise, Fall and Rise Again", man! 'Cause this channel ain't dead yet, my friends! Just like Cartoon Network, they're just getting started, dude! Come on, guys! No cable channel is really, truly ever gonna die when you're as big as the big three kids nets! They're going to continue for as long as cable still exists, how ever long that'll be, I guess! One of the biggest whiffs that doesn't get talked about Disney channel and the channel as a whole. Is the fact that they had the Pokémon anime license and did nothing major with it, they let the series and movies rot in XD and didn't air it once in the main channel. Cause apparently, only "boys" like it which is why it was dumped to XD instead.
Miss Cyrus only did what she did to break from her old persona that Disney had her on a contract about her music. After the three years that "Wrecking Ball" album she has heavily tone down and is actually a normal celebrity, mostly.

I hate to admit this as a Disney movie fan, but I never paid attention to the Disney cartoon lineup when I was growing up, I was more interested in Nick and CN back when both channels were in their prime. Now all I want to watch is Disney cartoons both old and new so I can catch up on anything I missed over the years.

I'm curious what you consider to be "back in the day" for The Disney Channel? Post 2000 era seems to be what you like to cover especially since you were using the 1997-2002 earmarks during the 1991-1996 era. McDonalds and Disney stopped working together a couple times, mainly due to the childhood obesity issues. It was so bad McDonalds at Downtown Disney Orlando was closed down.
When disney got too greedy, the appeal lost its way. Thats why they lost. They screwed over their fans over money and "reputation." However, we shouldn't repremand them for their mistakes, and instead, appriciate what they gave us. Star Vs the Forces of Evil, gravity falls, owl house, phineas and ferb, thats so raven. The golden age really was the best time to be a kid, now its like....theres nothing there anymore.
The Disney Channel is a sad shell of what it used to be. Even as late as the late 2010s, there were still a handful of good live-action sitcoms that I found enjoyable as an adult viewer. But those are all long gone now, and all that's left on the DC are mostly just animated shows for little kids, and the occasional movie. All the good stuff has been moved to Disney Plus, which I don't have. I think that the DC is in its last days and will be gone soon, as Disney shifts more and more of its content to Disney Plus. And that is sad!
Ahh i see u missed one small detail. Around late 2010s they decided to start airing those cartoons on disney channel more often because they felt like disney xd was getting way too much shine since thats where they were airing the cartoons lol but after that decsion comes ur next point which is the disney+ streaming and how they focusing heavily on it now to the point they seem like they tryna get rid of disney channel as a whole. I feel like they iffy with making that decision cause they really dont kno if streaming is the way to go or if cable still has a place to be
Maybe that would help, or at least get KP, Fillmore and Jake Long's writing team on every show they do. I mean KP, Fillmore and Jake Long were designed as the cartoons of the 2000's. KP for the Spy-Fi Fillmore as a sort of CSI meets Scooby-Doo and from that same brain...."Dragon Up!" for the D&D zone.

I don't think disney channel grew too fast I think it was the audience that grew out of disney channel that was the very start of the end. Its natural for tv networks to change with time but I think where disney channel messed up is they forgot to focus on making things that were timeless and more everyone oriented. Disney channel between 2006-2010 became a launch pad for fads and trendy things that are fun lucrative ideas SHORT TERM, but not long term. You can see this change in their marketing with good luck charloe, its a show with no gimmicks, no singing, no merchandise, just a show about yoir average surburban family. Which has a lot more staying power than your camp rocks and high school musicals Jessie is sort of similar too but Disney fell into another trap later on, making gimmick sitcoms like Dog with a Blog & Liv & Maddie.

Perry's plots are more of a side-thing meant to keep KP going in some form even though KP had just ended. The main focus of the show was always meant to be on Phineas and Ferb's summer antics...which how do we not know that Phineas and Ferb aren't just making up those secret agent adventures?
To be honest they went downhill after the 2000’s. Though I can deny some of their recent shows like Bluey have been solid, it’s clear it’s not clicking, most people don’t care about them and Disney+ is basically the channel now and the constant reboots isn’t helping either, I stopped watching them after 2017 because of how bad their content was becoming and don’t get me started on Disney’s treatment of their child actors which is just as awful as Nickelodeon. Like Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network, it’s still part of my childhood and I still respect them. I do hope Disney Channel can find its footing again. Only time will tell.

Did live Disney channel is not available on Disney+ As well in the majority of countries worldwide there is no longer a Disney channel available, just Disney +. At this point the Disney channel is on its last leg.
After last night, knowing that Nickelodeon has become sucky, in other words worse, I felt like the same thing is also happening with both Disney Channel and Cartoon Network. In Disney Channel's case, I get the feeling Dave the Barbarian might be the cause of the downfall, or maybe Wander Over Yonder, Star vs the Forces of Evil, Fish Hooks, Pickle and Peanut, Milo Murphy's Law, or other bad shows from Disney XD, which were also in Teletoons, might also be the case. As for sitcoms like Jonas, So Random, Jessie/Bunk'd, Austin and Ally, Shake it Up, Dog with a Blog, I Didn't Do It, A.N.T Farm, Bizaardvark, they shouldn’t even exist either, even with some shows that are good have some bad episodes due to the writing never shouldn’t have happened as well, also never reboot Ducktales and The Proud Family. If only wished our beloved tv channels can just go back to the way they were, if they never actually suck now.

Feel like its history is a bit interesting with its original history as Toon Disney, them starting to air anime when they became Disney XD like Naruto Shippuden when the transition started, and Beyblade and Pokemon a few years down the line and such etc

The period from the 90s to 2010 was a golden era for the Disney Channel, making it truly worth watching. However, with the rise of Disney+ today, the channel's popularity is declining as most shows are now available on the streaming platform. Kids today aren't tuning into the channel the way we did back in the 90s and 2000s.
I miss old Disney Channel and the Disney Junior frr
They hired Brian peck who was a convicted child molester. They hired him for a tv show called the suite life where much of the cast was children. Thus was after he got out of prison for molesting children. Truly sick behavior.
He got fired very quickly after learning of his conviction. He also wasn't on set and didn't interact with anyone

As a kid who grew up with Cartoon Network, Disney and Nickelodeon, I can confidently say that Disney went WAY TOO overboard with the celebrities. I guess because I tend to prefer animation, I've BARELY tuned into Disney in late 2000's.
That was my main gripe too. Though the early 2010s era didn’t exactly age well, at least that was when the network actually started to have variety again.
10:47 I liked Boy Meets World and I even like the first two seasons of Girl Meets World, but the problem GMW had (at least for me) was that it started off as it own show, which I think worked well for it, but then during it third season GMW threw that formula out the window and tried to clone BMW which killed the show for me, now had it tried that formula from the start like Fuller House did, it could of worked and not been such a drastic change.

When I think of Disney Channel, I think of a lot of people talking in a kitchen at night.
One of the biggest whiffs that doesn't get talked about Disney channel and the channel as a whole. Is the fact that they had the Pokémon anime license and did nothing major with it, they let the series and movies rot in XD and didn't air it once in the main channel.
Cause apparently, only "boys" like it which is why it was dumped to XD instead.
Miss Cyrus only did what she did to break from her old persona that Disney had her on a contract about her music. After the three years that "Wrecking Ball" album she has heavily tone down and is actually a normal celebrity, mostly.

I hate to admit this as a Disney movie fan, but I never paid attention to the Disney cartoon lineup when I was growing up, I was more interested in Nick and CN back when both channels were in their prime. Now all I want to watch is Disney cartoons both old and new so I can catch up on anything I missed over the years.

I'm curious what you consider to be "back in the day" for The Disney Channel? Post 2000 era seems to be what you like to cover especially since you were using the 1997-2002 earmarks during the 1991-1996 era.
McDonalds and Disney stopped working together a couple times, mainly due to the childhood obesity issues. It was so bad McDonalds at Downtown Disney Orlando was closed down.

When disney got too greedy, the appeal lost its way. Thats why they lost. They screwed over their fans over money and "reputation." However, we shouldn't repremand them for their mistakes, and instead, appriciate what they gave us. Star Vs the Forces of Evil, gravity falls, owl house, phineas and ferb, thats so raven. The golden age really was the best time to be a kid, now its like....theres nothing there anymore.

The Disney Channel is a sad shell of what it used to be. Even as late as the late 2010s, there were still a handful of good live-action sitcoms that I found enjoyable as an adult viewer. But those are all long gone now, and all that's left on the DC are mostly just animated shows for little kids, and the occasional movie. All the good stuff has been moved to Disney Plus, which I don't have. I think that the DC is in its last days and will be gone soon, as Disney shifts more and more of its content to Disney Plus. And that is sad!

Around late 2010s they decided to start airing those cartoons on disney channel more often because they felt like disney xd was getting way too much shine since thats where they were airing the cartoons lol but after that decsion comes ur next point which is the disney+ streaming and how they focusing heavily on it now to the point they seem like they tryna get rid of disney channel as a whole. I think it was the audience that grew out of disney channel that was the very start of the end.
Its natural for tv networks to change with time but I think where disney channel messed up is they forgot to focus on making things that were timeless and more everyone oriented. Disney channel between 2006-2010 became a launch pad for fads and trendy things that are fun lucrative ideas SHORT TERM, but not long term.
You can see this change in their marketing with good luck charloe, its a show with no gimmicks, no singing, no merchandise, just a show about yoir average surburban family. Which has a lot more staying power than your camp rocks and high school musicals
Jessie is sort of similar too but Disney fell into another trap later on, making gimmick sitcoms like Dog with a Blog & Liv & Maddie.

To be honest they went downhill after the 2000’s. Though I can deny some of their recent shows like Bluey have been solid, it’s clear it’s not clicking, most people don’t care about them and Disney+ is basically the channel now and the constant reboots isn’t helping either, I stopped watching them after 2017 because of how bad their content was becoming and don’t get me started on Disney’s treatment of their child actors which is just as awful as Nickelodeon. Like Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network, it’s still part of my childhood and I still respect them. I do hope Disney Channel can find its footing again. Only time will tell.

After last night, knowing that Nickelodeon has become sucky, in other words worse, I felt like the same thing is also happening with both Disney Channel and Cartoon Network. In Disney Channel's case, I get the feeling Dave the Barbarian might be the cause of the downfall, or maybe Wander Over Yonder, Star vs the Forces of Evil, Fish Hooks, Pickle and Peanut, Milo Murphy's Law, or other bad shows from Disney XD, which were also in Teletoons, might also be the case. As for sitcoms like Jonas, So Random, Jessie/Bunk'd, Austin and Ally, Shake it Up, Dog with a Blog, I Didn't Do It, A.N.T Farm, Bizaardvark, they shouldn’t even exist either, even with some shows that are good have some bad episodes due to the writing never shouldn’t have happened as well, also never reboot Ducktales and The Proud Family. If only wished our beloved tv channels can just go back to the way they were, if they never actually suck now.
At least there is still some successful shows like Gravity Falls, Wander over Yonder, Phineas and Ferb, Amphibia, and the Owl house.
