I like Wubbzy A LOT (if you don't know, that's a reference to a line in the show itself). Also the Steve era of Blue's Clues, and Backyardigins, are also the best.
Nick Jr had a variety of good shows like Blue's Clues, Dora the Explorer, Wonder Pets, the Backyardains, Little Bear, Lazy Town, Little Bear and Oswald. Now the most shows from the network I only hear of is Paw Patrol.
While it took some adjusting due to the abscence of Moose and Zee, I enjoyed the early days of the 2012-2017 version of NickJr especially the little crossover bumpers where they would all get together and sing a song from a show that relates to a themed month. Those ads have inspired me to write a story that’s an adaptation of Alice in Wonderland with Dora as Alice and various NickJr characters as the residents of Wonderland.
8:54 Actually, it wasn’t Ren and Stimpy that caused Blue to become a dog; they were more concerned about a pilot called Hello Mrs. Cherrywinkle and its cat character (and Nick never picked up that pilot btw), as well as a general saturation of cats in animation caused by Garfield and Friends. Ironic considering the later introduction of Periwinkle
I just wanted to bring this up: Team Umizoomi was NOT the only show to premiere on Nick Playdate. The Fresh Beat Band premiered on August 24, 2009. Bubble Guppies premiered on January 24, 2011. Nick Playdate didn't shutdown until the Nick Jr. rebrand of 2012.
Bless your family for NOT putting your kid on to cocomelon. If we can get the next generation to watch what was. It can turn around the whole tide of how media is.
In The UK: Nick Jr. has British Dubs Including Thomas and Friends, Super Why!, Dinosaur Train, Humf, Roary The Racing Car, Bob The Builder, Maisy and We Had Kevin instead of Steve in The UK Version of Blue's Clues!
As someone who works at a school, I’m sad to report that paw patrol fell off. Bluey is the latest big thing but even that is starting to fade away to time. Very sad that Nickelodeon is only focused on profit. I’m sure a block dedicated to reruns of classic Nick Jr shows would be a big hit like the Splat.
@@CupofJoe_93 I will agree with you that Bluey definitely is not as good and this is coming from someone who likes paw patrol and bluey paw patrol will have a good episode now and then more good ones recently when they change the animation but I feel like Bluey is starting to go the same route as Ludo found their golden ticket and is milking bluey now which honestly I saw coming it was only a matter of time before it happened more money more greed
I've noticed a number of their shows have gone down the CGI reboot route (Dora, Backyardigans, and Wonder Pets). While Nick Jr. hasn't exactly suffered as much as its sister channels, it's acting more of the same (as a channel anyway) for playing like the same five shows over and over again. At least children can safely watch those shows growing up instead... Cocomelon...
Great video! I remember loving Nick Jr as a kid, and I still like the shows I love growing up as a Gen Z kid (Blue's Clues, Franklin, Little Bear, Maggie and the Ferocious Beast, Bubble Guppies, Team Umizoomi etc...), while liking some new shows that I got into as an adult. Honestly, because of the lightbulb in the beginning of your videos, I think I recommend for you creating a history of Disney's One Saturday Morning, and its sister network, One Too, because I think they're not often brought up enough even though these were popular in the 90's. I mean, this is where they had Recess, Pepper Ann, the Disney era of Doug, The Weekenders, and House of Mouse to name a few.
Nick Jr had so many timeless shows for me growing up from the later seasons of Gullah Gullah to blues clues to the backyardigans. Now all their doing is just having paw patrol get spammed to takeover half of the Nickelodeon schedule from 7am-1:30pm😅while Peppa pig is still going strong with season 8. This is mostly when Nick Jr fell off by not having variety for their own brand cause they are just stuck to what property franchises works that made them shutdown the noggin block. What caught me off guard was that they first brought in Baby shark as a new show which then ended after season 3 and now brought back Dora in a new series art style😅.
I remember watching Nick Jr with some of the Noggin shows back in 2012. Outta all the shows from around that era, Wow Wow Wubbzy, Yo Gabba Gabba, and Ni Hao Kai-Lan were my main favorites with Backyardigans, Bubble Guppies, Little Bill, OG Fresh Beat Band, and so on. Paw Patrol wasn’t bad at first but it pretty much became the Spongebob of Nick Jr
Oh man I totally loved The Busy World of Richard Scary, Little Bear and Franklin on Nick Jr back in the 90's and The Backyardigans was a sorta witty smaller kids and preschool show but after my time. ❤
The problem with nick jr today is that they focus on shows that are cash grabs based on UA-cam kid stuff like baby shark. And they keep airing paw patrol 24/4
@StagehandMotel6 also when you go to the noggin website it shows the classic logo with the word rebooting at the bottom. This is because noggin was sold to a mysterious company.
Nick jr honestly just died when they stopped rerunning older shows, what would happen to Nick jr in the future, weird Directions from Nickelodeon, which would be stepping into webtoons, which would be a failure… and then getting taken over by paw patrol…
Thanks for taking me back to my childhood particularly with Allegra's Window, Gullah Gullah Island, Rupert, Little Bear, The Busy World of Richard Scarry, Blue's Clues, Franklin, Kipper, Maisy, Little Bill, Maggie and the Ferocious Beast, Bob the Builder and Oswald
Ahh Nick Jr, so much nostalgia! I remember I ADORED Blue's Clues [and still do, the jokes in some episodes actually still hold up], and I had a TON of VHS tapes with Face. Also, Bob The Builder and Rubbadubbers were some of my first exposures to stop-motion/Claymation. Face, Moose A Moose, and Clay [Playhouse Disney] were my introduction to mascots in general not just TV bumper mascots. I like Paw Patrol, but I am legitimately getting sick of every show on Nick Jr getting moved to bad timeslots or getting cancelled in general just to make room for more Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig. Speaking of Bob The Builder, when I was little my local Chuck E Cheese had a Bob The Builder ride I was OBSESSED with and the only things that could get me off the ride were pizza and if Chuck E [both the walkaround and the animatronic] came out. Chuck E is actually the reason I have a huge interest in animatronics. Super excited for Playhouse Disney, and for any possible mentions of Clay, Bear In The Big Blue House, and Handy Manny. Although I hope Cosgrove Hall's Animal Shelf cartoon gets mentioned as I think Disney specifically wanted the show for the channel and distribution.
Gullah Gullah Island, Blue's Clues, Little Bear. I was the prime target demographic at the time Nick Jr. was starting to gain popularity. I remember all these shows fondly when I was in kindergarden. 😁👏🏻
I didn't really know much about it at first but I got the impression it was supposed to be kind of like Nick@Nite. But what the problem is, is that what makes that block work is that the age group isn't too far off. Whereas, with NickMom, Nick Jr. is for 2-5 year-olds and it was for young adult women. Way too far off. Also, not every child's bedtime is 9, and even if their bedtime IS 9, several things can delay a child's bedtime, including being sick or injured, or a kid being too stubborn to go to bed on time. And anyways, what adult is gonna think to themselves, "Hey, I wonder if Nick Jr.'s got some quality programming for me tonight. Better check it out. It's been one crazy day with the kids."
Nickelodeon and nick Jr were turned in regular channels (in Greece)in 2009 but nick Jr greece was in a channel called channel 9 in 1998 and i remember watching these 🐬

Man I wish when they do are new shows that they do it in a more 90s and 2000s type style so it won't just be like every kid show you see on today from Nick Jr, PBS Kids and Disney Junior but you already know they won't do that for obvious reasons but if it's not obvious, it's because they probably want modernized shows which in this case is bad.
Dora was one of my favorites on Nick Jr. when i was little. It was even the first show i ever watched. I also used to love Little Bill, Blue's Clues, The Backyardigans, The Wonder Pets, and Yo Gabba Gabba!, and others.

Nick Jr was my favorite channel as a child, still is as I do watch Paw Patrol whenever bored or needing some comfort. But that show also is starting to kill the brand as it's pretty much the only thing that airs nowadays, wish they had more show variety. And yes, it'd be super nice if they continued airing older shows like Blue's Clues, Yo Gabba Gabbs, or Wow Wow Wubbsy, but currently, it's pretty bland at the moment.

great vid per usual bro, and for 22:55 where'd u get the hippos on the wall from?
Nice video
Nick Jr was my favorite channel as a child, still is as I do watch Paw Patrol whenever bored or needing some comfort. But that show also is starting to kill the brand as it's pretty much the only thing that airs nowadays, wish they had more show variety. And yes, it'd be super nice if they continued airing older shows like Blue's Clues, Yo Gabba Gabbs, or Wow Wow Wubbsy, but currently, it's pretty bland at the moment.
3:23 CHILDHOOD!!!!
I love Blue's Clues!
