I mostly bass fishing. I’m not very good with a bait caster reel, so I use a spinning reel for top water , frogs, crank baits, jigs, everything, so I’m looking for a power reel that’s not too expensive. I can do $150.
Two questions, does this 2025 Ultegra have a one piece screw in handle? And do I spend a little bit more for the 2023 Stradic? I already have the 2021 ultegra in a 2500 size. For my next reel I am looking for both in the 3000 size.
One piece screw in handle. I don’t think you can go wrong with either honestly. The Stradic does get you an extra bearings I believe plus upgrade to the Duracross drag washers.
The new one is better designed for salt with X Protect and should be even more powerful as well. A 20lb tarpon should be no issue at all with the right rod and line matchup. I would go to the 4000 and 5000 size for an all purpose inshore/nearshore reel. That’s what I ordered. And then I use the 2500 or 3000 for smaller species like reds or trout or snapper.
So whats different between this and the stradic? im on the edge of buying a stradic but the value is crazy on the new ultegra i just dont like the full gold spool i think the stradic looks much nicer
Drag washers, bearing count and a very marginal weight difference. The first two Stradic has the better of. The last, Ultegra is a bit lighter due to using Ci4 as part of the body.
@@tightlines6641 respectfully disagree totally on the FL vs FM from my heavy use with both. The new gear and Infinity Drive have brought Stradic up. FL was a great reel but FM is a better version of it. The only thing I could care less about is the Anti Twist Fin. I’m indifferent about it but I see its place
Everyone keeps asking but I honestly don't think it's going to happen... too many low profiles now in every price point... in reality Chronarch is only a name at this time... there are far better reels for less money available in the current line up
I absolutely love the look of the new Ultegra. Definitely picking up 2 or 3. 😁
My all time favorite bang for the buck spinning reel, i have a mess load of em. Never once had an issue.
Glad to hear you've had such good luck with them!
@JPDeRoseOutdoors yup even saltwater...but i do tend to gravitate towards Daiwa for that...they just seem to perform better in my experience.
@@c.shoefish what daiwa do you use in sw?
@@WhiteGhost21 on a budget, the BG is hard to beat.
@@c.shoefish i have the new TP
When do you think it would be officially release?
4:44 have to correct you there... The handle knobs of a C3000 (Tknob) and 2500 (normal) are different
Yes, it always has been on every model since the 3000 was introduced. I was referring to the body and rotor being the same. Handles are removable.
Can you tell me if there is a new release planned Shimano Sustain?
Not currently
Does it have rotor floating system..i mean rotor bushing that used in stradic and above
I have never heard the term rotor floating system?
@JPDeRoseOutdoors sorry sir, i mean the rotor nut, does it have normal nut or nut with "bushing/bearing inside"
Thank you for the video. I’m looking for a new power reel. Since you said this is a step up from the Nasci, is this a “power” reel?
It is definitely a more robust reel than Nasci. By Power Reel what are you referring to? What do you want to do with it?

Bad news , No it doesn't have one piece screw in handle, just the same handle as before
Should i use mono backing or i can straight braid no problem?
I use straight braid but I always add a piece of tape to the arbour to stop the braid from slipping.
When will they be available in stores ?
Should be early Spring if I had to take a guess.
You keep mentioning that its a freshwater reel, should i not use it in saltwater? Can it handle 20+ lb tarpon?

@@JPDeRoseOutdoorsthank you for replying. For a long time i made up my mind on the ultegra fc but im going for this one now

@@JPDeRoseOutdoors Thanks! And how about the overall feeling of the reels i know how the stradic feels how do they compare?
i wouldnt waste my money on the Stradic FM. The FL was better for one.
Yes agreed, Stradic FL feels better than FM

The value for money of this reel is A-MAZING! Will there be a XH version of the 4000?
Only XG no NG models in the 4000 and 5000
