Харизматичный. А ,сколько критики заработал со стороны многих профессиональных музыкантов,просто интересно. Я тоде считаю ,что ему многое удалось. Эмоциональных дирижеров немало,но не у всех так оркестр играет.
To each their own. Music can be everything for everybody and that's good.
Personally, I would learn about small differences first and strive to make a big difference later or never. If anything, I think I would strive to make a big difference by mastering subtlety. There is a limit to how loud, fast, and unexpected you can make people play. But there does not seem to be a limit to how many colors, nuances, and sentiments are possible in music.

Just look at Salonen or Jansons with a truly great orchestra and then check out Danny Kaye's version of the Emperor's New Clothes.

qqqggg5 I'm very sorry but after 30 years as a Principal player in a professional orchestra and having played under conductors such as Bernstein, Ozawa, Dudamel and with more big name soloists than I can care to remember I believe I am entitled to my opinion. By the way I also played with an orchestra at the Salzburg Festival and a local critic confused an encore of Zarzuela with a Strauss Waltz. But hey, if it was Salzburg it must have been wonderful. You may have a different opinion. You may have a vested interest. Present an argument.
qqqggg5 You need to understand the comment in order to argue the point. The juxtaposition of an exaggerated proposition such as " Why not naked?" is to draw attention to an absurd concept of performance where presentation is of primary importance to the detriment of musical quality and emotional content.
Ok, i'll try to explain my opinion.(English is not my native language, by the way) This record dated at least 2013 year, and yes, I got your point about chords in the final. But this orchestra is not ordinary, - in Russia it's for sure in top-3 orchestras. This orchestra even opened Salzburg Festival, and it's a big deal, for sure.
So, about "pose" matter. I don't think that standing artists would harm audience's aesthetic feelings in any way. Most of soloists standing on the stage, and what? No one complains about it. Because it's not unnatural in any way - voilins/violas standing, cellos sitting. They do not expose anything.
For example, in many european theatres you can see denudation and even more, even in a famous works (www.medici.tv/ru/operas/lady-macbeth-mtsensk-shostakovich-amsterdam-martin-kusej/). And it started a long time ago, since second half of 20th century!
