@@Tinker1837 Yes I will be doing the same or om617, depending on budget and availability at the time, disco 1 most likely, 5 spd too.....where do you find the 4bt? Seem rare and pricey?!?
They are so much more costly than when I bought mine! Best thing to do is put the word out and see if someone has any equipment / trucks with one in that you can remove & scrap the rest to recoup some of the cost.
This thing is so freaking badass! It was mine and I could add one more thing to it, I'd a C.T.I.S. (C-central T-tire I-inflation S-system) to it which would just put it over the top and make it better than all of your friends vehicles. It would also make it so much more capable in any and all terrain you put it through. For those who don't know what C.T.I.S. is well it's a central tire inflation system which allows you to deflate or inflate your tires from inside the vehicle. So if you are off-roading and end up in a area with a lot of rocks that you didn't plan on, then you can deflate you tires to give better traction but also once past that obstacle you will be able to reinflate the tires. Another great feature you get with C.T.I.S. is run flat, where if you puncture a tire and can't repair it or don't have a spare you can press the emergency tire button which pumps air into that specific tire constantly to keep it inflated so you can get to a area to fix it or change it. The military uses it on most of their vehicles and since they do it makes it easier to find a whole kit from say a junk yard or eBay for pretty cheap. Oh yeah 1 other thing I would definitely add as well is portal axles. Which are found on unimogs for a solid axle or you can find independent portal axles on military Hummers. What is a portal axle? Well it's basically a axle with a extra gear box at the end where you Mount the tires which not only gives you a 30% gear reduction but also drops the wheel hub up to 6inchs lower which in return pushes the axle.upward giving you a extra 6 inches of ground clearance from the axle. Whit having a extra 30% gear reduction takes some of the strain off your engine and transmission helping them run cooler so you can also run larger tires without over working the engine and transmission. You can also change the gearing to give more reduction but less wheel speed for like rock crawling or less reduction for a higher wheel speed. Okay I'll stop here lol sorry for the long ass comment but when I start talking about 4x4,s and off roading I tend to not stop lol just very passionate about it. Thanks for reading this and have a great day.
I've got the modified Humvee wheels which have the ports for the CTIS and both my engine & transmission have PTO connections with options for air pumps... coincidence? Maybe. Haha!

No shortage of little details to get caught on with this project, more to come!
Aaaaaaah the payoff. Happy for ya man been watching all your vids and patiently waiting for this, Now comes the drive please take us on board with a few suspension cameras and a dash cam to see that exhaust mix. Really happy for ya man I have no patience for a project like this
Getting behind the wheel again is going to be mega! Oh & for sure I'll be capturing it, wouldn't want to miss anything funny or exciting happening on the maiden voyage 👍
Absolutely love it man! This is goals for my truck!!
Glad you like! It's a damn fun project I've dreamt of for years now.
Amazing men, felicidades!
You make an awesome job and it looks bad ass. 😎
Thanks :)
Get yourself a vacuuming filling tool for the coolant system ! You know if you have any leaks before adding fluid. No worrying about air bubbles 🤘🏻
Used to have one, pretty handy!
To freakin cool guys! Love the build.
Thanks man!
С не терпением жду когда же эта машина поедет! Привет из России!
Я тоже жду когда же она поедет наконец😊😊😊
So excited to drive it! Your country is a beautiful place to drive off road :D
@@Tinker1837 I started watching your channel because I really like LR Discovery, but I know about its problems. You have the best Discovery, but I do not have such a motor as yours, and so much time for such a project,;) my wife will not approve)))
I hope my videos help people keep their Discovery's alive. And yeah sometimes I think I have too much free time haha!
Man!!that was freaking awesome that's one nice rig you got there!!!!!!!! Congrats
Thanks! It was a bit moment in the build for sure, can't wait to hear it spooling up on the road!
Congrats!!!
Thanks! Can hardly wait to drive it now :D
@@Tinker1837 Will be amazing to drive it. I have an F250 w 4bt and it´s a train !! Enyoit!
very beautiful sound.
I think so too, not bad for such a small exhaust pipe! :)
You could make a big ol skid plate and put it under
That's the plan! From the bumper to the front crossmember, then from there to the middle crossmember, then a 3rd for the fuel tank.
