I’ve been going to the outer banks for vacation for years and I know they’re supposed to be there but I’ve never seen one. I’ve even been to alligator river and this year kayaked in the bay near pea island. Lots of locals have told me it’s rare to see them in NC. Is this true? What would be a good spot to find them? I know they only live in fresh water and occasionally brackish
I just went over the Alligator River bridge on US 64 and saw an 8, 9 foot alligator just floating in the canal. There was a guy in a kayak about 100, 200 feet away, I hope there was no confrontation.

im from alberta canada and have never been to any states with alligators but i really want to go to Florida. i go to Montana all the time
