R-Type is definitely better than Salamander on thr speccy I'd say mate, that stick looks well worth it dude, I've got the Divmmc Future so I've got a ton of good old speccy games. Brilliant stuff, nice one dude👍

I got a full USB stick for it too. What's really strange, is that hardly any of the games on the USB work with Kempston setting... It's really weird. A few do but most don't. All the built in games work fine.

No need to pay someone for a pen full of thousands of games repeated with versions and variants. I made a file ready to write on any pendrive from 1gb or more with 600 games by genre and with a 40 top. Name any game you remember and there it is. And more important: every games has been configured to play with joystick, no need to touch a key on the spectrum, just take seat on your coach and use the spectrum like a console. For example, load Commando and no need to press S to start on the keyboard, just press home on the gamepad or joystick and game starts. While playing move with the joystick and use A to fire and B to throw grenades. Ready to enjoy. I dont want to link it here, just search 😅

I’ve updated the spectrums firmware so now all games are compatible with the usb controller, which took me a while on my lads pc to figure out how to do it🤣👍🏻🍺😎.
@Retro-cabin It is really easy to write the pendrive with the file. You also have a windows version on it with the same games but with a richer menu with info, images and videos. Also, every game is fully playable and no need to use keyboard at all. Greetings!

@@noirmagique all I ever used micros for is games since the 80’s, my mum and dad bought a Amstrad to the there finances on, never happened😂 that machine was only used for games👍🏻😎🍺. I did do some basic programming on it back in the day but that was also trying to make a games.

Is that really every game though? Unless those letter directories have sub-categories then it won't have every game as I think each directory on these systems can only hold up to round 255 files and I think there's over 17,000 games for the Speccy

Oh and retro games have just updated the firmware so the usb controllers will work on every game👍🏻🍺😎.
@Retro-cabin Yeah to be fair about 90% of the games on there are pure filler but you kinda get that with any system really. Half the fun is looking for those hidden gems 😎 Check out The Pyramid if it's on there, that one was a fun find
More than 24,000 video games were released for the ZX Spectrum during its lifetime. And if you've got all these alternate versions / different formats then good luck with that very basic UI. Is there any search function?
@@ryaneaton2724 no search function on the usb stick, I basically will find a game I used to play back in the day then it will have many options for the game, different publishers, instant play options and options where it will fully load for original experience and different languages and hacks.
@Retro-cabin Ultimate Play the Game was my favourite Speccy publisher/developer until 1988 when it evolved into Rare and began developing titles for Nintendo. Jetpac, Pssst, Cookie, Tranz Am, Lunar Jetman, Atic Atac, Sabre Wulf, Alien 8, Nightshade, Gunfright are their games iirc.
