I have both the ATT and the Chinese versions and I like them both. I switch back and forth between them and my surface duo. I think the axon M is a beautiful device and makes sense. Even the thin line between the two screens is tolerable because of the way the software kept the display connected by way of the continuous and almost seamless separation. I think we need a new version of that device.
The tech media will never admit ZTE got it right the first try. Hardware wise.
I'm still rocking with it "M". 😎 Great Condition $150 Club!
Love my Axon M, got it back in 2019 for around $92. It was a trooper considering that I daily drove it during my high school years. Unfortunately, the main motherboard failed and it wouldn't turn on or take a charge but I revived it some months later by buying a donor phone. It lasted almost two years until it broke down a couple of weeks ago. It looks like the motherboard failed again (doesn't power on or take any charge, bought replacement batteries for both but it still won't power) and I'm debating whether I should buy a second doner for the motherboard.
It's an awesome device and I've gotten great memories during my highschool years with that phone. The form factor is great because you can easily navigate with it one hand when closed and then get a tablet-like experience with it unfolded.
Also, I believe that the Axon M also failed because it barely received updates. I believe the Chinese Axon M got Android Oreo (plus the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage) and it had overall better support than the US device.
hingegang still alive in 2024

Man I remember this event in NYC. Ahead of its time
Loved that phone. It was ahead of its time
Yes this device was really interesting. I could see this remade for today. Zte is underrated
Got that in my closet stash right now. Got a blackberry priv too those were amazing...
I remember y'all meetings then. Zte was on a roll until they weren't i have the sniffles too
M... and it's still in mint condition.
Back in 2017, I was going to purchase one, but the employees rubbed me the wrong way, staring at me, like I was going to steal something. So I turned and walked right on outta there, regretting it ever since, because I really wanted one
And two glass screens - come on Samsung!
Wow interesting!
Wow Mr j you brought out the old old device 😅
I had a Kyocera phone just like that
This phone was unique but man was it bad, even back then. And considering that it never got a OS update it freaking pathetic considering their asking price. Also the flashlight could burn your finger off 😅
I owned 2 a few years back, cool decent phones but I shattered every screen eventually 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
M, mine is in mint condition, got it for 100-150 dollars can't remember
🙌🏾🙌🏽🙌🏿
Whoa is this the first folding phone???
I could understand if the original price was $599 and ZTE had an exclusive deal with AT&T that the phone was only available through for them for the first month, and they knocked off $100. After the first month the phone is available to every carrier at $599. But $800 at launch exclusively through AT&T.... hard pass.
Folding phones weren't a thing back then, so 800 bucks was expensive but on par with what you were getting. These days people are paying just about double for a Galaxy foldable. Where's the hard pass there? There is none, because the technology justifies the price same as the tech at the time justified ITS price.
@IlDiavolo2515 for one, ZTE is not on the same level as other OEMs that have more reach. When Samsung, Google and One Plus dropped their folding phones, they put them on multiple carriers. These are phones at the end of the day. Companies set the price high because they already know people are always willing to part hands with money. Affordable tech is released every yr and people willingly ignore it because it doesn't have premium written on it.
This phone would have definitely sold on another carrier
Why is this phone overpriced still on Ebay they crazy!
Bcuz it's like a collector's item now
