Do You Have A Fake iPhone? Here's How To Tell...

- iPhones are everywhere and it's pretty hard to find a fake one... but I've got one and there are more out there. I'm going to show you a few easy ways to tell a real iPhone from a fake one, other than the fact that iMessage and FaceTime won't be there or won't work at all. This is a fake iPhone 8 Plus that was sold as a real one on eBay. It looks right at first glance but the more you dig into it the more you realize just how bad it is. Fake iPhones run a skinned version of Android, the camera on this one wouldn't work at all, and most of them simply have a button where the TouchID sensor should be. Everything from the box to the operating system is an absolute mess.

At an electronics repair shop I used to work at, we had a few of these come in, and I always got a kick out of looking at them. One was a fake iPhone XS, another a fake iPhone 7, and even more interestingly, a fake Samsung Galaxy S9. What was even more impressive was that the people who brought these phones in were actually USING them as their main phone, somehow, and thought they were real.

Edit…i made my screen bigger and now im not seeing what i was seeing before so maybe the shadows from your tapping. But in small screen, it LOOKS creepy 😂

Those "mistakes" as you call them are not an accident. If they were 100% correct they could be convicted of forgery and counterfeiting. The "mistakes" give them plausible deniability.

if the companies selling those where honest about it i would totally get such a Phone, i like how Apple Products look and feel when it comes to the hardware but i hate IOS and Mac OS with all my sole
I bought an Iphone XR for like $650 from Walmart's online shop. This was when they were still selling for $850-$900, easy. I was super nervous, but sure enough, a real Iphone XR showed up. Updates with apple, and everything.
I'd be interested to see if you can flash it to a real version of Android, if it works work well.... Then you could prank a phone repair shop or the genius bar with it

I had an iPhone once. There was nothing about it that I wanted to do that I couldn't do on Android and my $60 LG Android Walmart phone hasn't let me down yet.

um, Ebay returns fakes. He is not out any money unless he just doesn't report it. It needs to be reported so that seller can't scam other people.

@@TechThrowback ok, he deserves to get ripped off if he thought an 8 plus was $200 a few years ago and then didn't do anything about it after. I mean, an 8 plus is still more than $200 even now. Apple still has the 8's in the Refurb section. I paid $379 for a REFURBED regular 8- 64gb version, from Apple 2 years ago.

I do not use iPhones but once you said fake I knew it would be some kind of Android phone. I do use iPads though and only buy from Apple. I think that is the same phone they make a fake Samsung with also. Just change the back so it mimicks it.
Well for the most part, most phones are either gonna be some android OS and IOS. Yes you have other brands with other OS on them but lots of people rip the crap out of android and throw it on cheap units.

He should back it up and wipe it out and make it into whatever Chinese phone it actually is and see if it is decent or not. Would be entertaining and might actually work ok for the money he took a chance spending.
I ordered a lidar room mapping robot vacuum because it was just too cheap to be real but if it was it would be a deal of the century. I actually started getting tracking updates and everything. Eventually it said it was delivered to my house about 3 states away. I claimed against ebay and they asked some questions then just refunded me my money and banned his account and killed it. I wonder how much money he ran away with before they closed him down. At least he got a crappy phone that might actually work.
On the plus side: it's not an Iphone.
