One thing I really like in the RD Wingfield books is the accuracy of what life as a police officer is like. Frost always has so much going on. It's never just one case at a time.
yes, that is so true!! and with the pressure of paperwork being completed too!
It's a shame that i never got to meet him because actually R.D Wingfield was my Granddad and we had lots of copies of his books but i have never read any of his books.
Read The Franchise Affair (Tey) - I think the best of hers. Not a murder mystery, but a crime novel nevertheless.
My favorite Try is Daughter of Time so far, my favorite Wentworth is Poison in the Pen so far. I have read all in of Dorothy Sayers, I have two favorites; Murder Must Advertise and Gaudy Night. I have not read the Frost books yet. I enjoyed the series 😊
I can’t wait to pick up Patricia Wentworth after watching a few of your videos. Thanks for your recommendation. Really look forward to your Where to Start video like the Agatha Christie ones.
It will happen soon!! Just a few more to go!!
I've read a couple of Frost books and loved them! I would like to start the Miss Silver books, they sound great. Fab reviews :)
yay, so glad you enjoy them too!! They are fab books and defo worth a read
I love the Miss Silver books and wanted to reread one in particular but can't remember the title. Do you recall which one of the mysteries takes place in an apartment building? I really liked that one but can't remember which one it is.
Please, please read more of Tey...I love nearly all her books. The Singing Sands is her weakest in my opinion. Love The Man in the Queue and Miss Pym Disposes.
I've read all of Sayers and Wentworth , too. They're almost all 5 stars in my view. No, you have not discussed Wentworth too much! 😄
No clue why I haven't read Frost books. But just added them to that humongous list of mine!
oh yay!! I love frost, they are all so great!! I will keep going with Teys works :)
I currently have two unread Agatha Christie books on my shelf, which should I read first; The Murder of Roger Ackroyd or The Murder on the Links? 🧐🤔🤍
ooo tricky one.....I do love them both tbh. The murder of Roger Ackroyd was the one that made her really famous in her time so maybe that one?
Thanks for all the recommendations! I'm curious as to which Dorothy L. Sayers you would recommend as a starting point into her work. I've been meaning to try one of her books :)
ooo I will have to have a think, and keep reading. I don't think there are too many of her Lord Perter novels but once I have read them all I will do a Where to start and favourites. At the moment with the ones I have read I would say either go for Strong Poison or Gaudy Night, they are both fab!!
@@lilsvintageworld thank you! Added to my TBR ✔ Looking forward to your video on the subject!
Miss Pym Disposes
ahh thank you!
I haven’t tried any but want to I read a good mystery atm .but not sure what or where to start.
Do you have an author in mind? Agatha Christie is always a good way into the classic crime genre
Yeah other then her I have a lot of her some I need to read .something like her I don’t who else to pick up?
@@gracetaylor7351 Sayers is great, or Patricia Wentworth has a very similar writing style to Agatha Christie
