- Yes, we sold our boat, our floating home. It wasn't planned, yet and it did catch Ryan and I a bit by surprise. This episode was difficult for me to make, especially since I went through a lot of footage from when we first started on this adventure.
We're not done yet with the South Pacific, we'll see how we will take to land life here, on Moorea, for now. So that means you all are not done seeing us either! :)

been with my Dad over last two years, with GK at the spa/ boatyard...

He passed and now i'm refamiliarizing self with H2O life...

Tickets for 2024 Paris Olympic sailing just on sale... till i went to an Olympics in person, whitewater paddling Atlanta, personal appreciation was... a lot less.

I was a little sad to see the title of this video, but I know that life is full of new adventures and opportunities. Nichole it's rare that I get a tear in my eye (well a bit more now as a I'm ageing) but you guys selling Kiapanui have made me sad. I completely understand why and am happy for you that you will be able to keep adventuring together. I was really touched by Ryan's gift to Danica. @catamarankiapa1604, thank you deeply John for your kind words, from your little sister, Kiapa Nui. :) Yes, pulling up next to you at the marina in Papeete was so awesome, the two Kiapas together and then seeing you again in Moorea and then Santa Cruz put such a smile on our faces. Cold beers will be in the frig and dinner on the table. We will be back early to mid Feb. on Moorea. You have our number. Yeah heck (being civil), like others have said and you have mentioned in videos past about this exact eventuality. Sooner than I expected but opportunities come your way or a family in this case. I know it was a lot harder to finalize the sale, the transfer of ownership than what the video showed. The world, life, continues to turn, moving on to new life experiences, I wish you both the very best. I'm glad I wrote this to you both because now I'm happy.
@Moonrocket59, you sure got that right about being harder to finalize the sale etc than we showed. I think I got teary eyed every 20 minutes for about a month. I couldn't talk about it or I was in tears but the next few months will bring new experiences for sure...we're just navigating through it all, finding our place in this world. We won't be gone from YT quite yet though. We'll share what comes next. :) N

A word to the wise - never depend on anything electronic on a boat. The sea climate and electronics are not good bedfellows.
Yes, the sea environment can definitely be harsh but if one knows how to take care of your electronics, they can last a pretty long time, at least that was our experience for the last 10 years. :) N
