  • We are very keen with our medieval stuff, and this is a simple way to make chainmail, once we made it, it was then finished by crotcheting the edge

What do you mean by “taping up?” How do I do that to prevent tangling?
Edit: What are the “bases” you mentioned?

Sometimes when working on another area, I’ve found that at the bottom it may have unclipped itself and I’ve had to put tape on it to hold them in place, which is why I decided to crotchet it around the edge to finish it off

What are the names of the tools you use? Also where to get them.

You’ll need a pair of side cutters to snip the tabs and a pair of needle nose pliers to bend the tabs a standard plier will work too, the knitting side of it is a crotchet needle. Hope this helps cheers

It’s basically just straightening it up to the other side to close the gap, if you want a more full proof solution maybe use a bit of knead it to bond the cut. I’ve even glued the finished product to some leather to make it a bit more final, I’m sure there are other things that can be tried, let us know if you come up with a better solution cheers
