      Little Carmine is my hero from the Sopranos. Living the dream with a family who loves him-without a care in the world.
      Tony Soprano and perhaps Mr Gandolfini (RIP) could have taken lessons from the book of wisdom of getting out of the game and enjoying what is most important-family, health (ahi green salad with tuna), exercise, and minimal stress ( a swim in the pool naked each night before bed).
      Salud, Little Carmine aka Brainless the 2nd (the genius of the series)!👍🏼

      @pharaohsmagician8329 2 місяці тому +13

      And that's how he avoids incriminating himself and prevents people from exploiting him with wordplay. Little Carmine is very diplomatically skilled, that's why he won and is so succesful and happy by the end. Sometimes politics requires being underestimated and everyone underestimated little Carmen. Albert Barese does something similar when he always repeats what other people say, it gives them nothing to use against him, because all he did was repeat what they said. No openings for weakness for predators like Tony to take advantage of. Here Tony even tried to convince him that his dream of the empty box meant he should go fill the box up, instead of realizing what Carmine meant when his dream showed him that the box will always be empty, even if it takes 200 years to fill up, it won't be enough. Large wordplay leaves your enemies confused and having to deal with all you said before they can get to your main points, that's why Tony had nothing left to do and quit trying to convince Carmine to be boss and left.

    What I love about the "brainless the second" quip is that we hadn't even met Little Carmine at that point. So it's a line you really appriciate on rewatch.

    Little Carmine was a modern day Leonardo Di Caprio. He knew what needed to be said and he didnt say nothing different, except when he needed to. He knew that to step out of line was an invitation to a party. That's why he never, ever did anything to do anything to anyone, except when he did, God rest his soul. Pasta Luego.

    Its funny Tony in private always shits on Little Carmine. But what's interesting that Tony had the most candid, happy and relatable conversations. Little Carmine is also a man that had the giant shadow of his father over him, giving an immense responsibility as boss and also trying to live up to him. Just like Tony. I think this makes their conversations very personal and friendly, which most of the time its supposed to be about business. Maybe Tony resents him because he's the happy wanderer.
    Little Carmine is a man also in the mafia. But he's a happy person, loves his wife, and at the end of the show, has finally achieve happiness by choosing to forge his own path away from this thing of ours. Everything Tony desires (or desired) at some point.
    Thats why Tony has heart to heart moments with Brainless the Second. He really admires him. What a great show

    Tony: I think you should step up and become boss.

    Little Carmine was lowkey one of the smartest characters in the show. I think his malapropisms were an intentional diversion from this fact. He steered clear of violence while reaping the rewards of the life, even enjoying a healthy and relatively normal family life. At the end of the series, pretty much all of his main rivals were gone, partially due to his manipulative interventions, clunky as they were. His reputation as a dunce was ultimately just a smokescreen for his Machiavellian side.
