ToA. While SN does better at bonding with individual characters, ToA excels in almost everything else. ToA makes you feel like you’re exploring a more fleshed out world, whereas SN makes you feel like you’re just doing missions in the same places over and over.
Couldn't agree more, environment's in Tales games in general are so emerseive. Whilst SN areas were really lifeless. SN was fun, character designs great, but the missed the mark on so many areas.
@@Introversion399 This! TOA starts very well then it's story becomes a total mess! It's one of those game for which you can really tell that they really missed the landing to almost a laughing point, like it was almost done on purpose.
The satisfaction that I got after finishing Tales of Arise was on another level, when I finished Scarlett nexus I was like "yeah that was kinda fun, anyway" but with tales of arise I rlly got involved into the world, the characters and the story, not to mention the amazing combat, it was just on a whole different level compared to my personal experience with Scarlet Nexus.
Perfect comment!! it's all about tastes. some people adore Pokémon others despise it. play what YOU enjoy and try others just for the experience. just like he said: "Better to play a 7 that you love than an 8 that you never finish."
Love both of these games equally, it's hard for me to choose one over the other because they both brought me 60+ hours of entertainment each, although, I'd prefer Scarlet Nexus for the story and combat and Tales of Arise for the characters and side content if I had to make a decision between them. Both amazing games that helped me through tough times, great in depth review as always!
I'm right with you. I think Arise is better but enjoy Scarlet Nexus more. Thanks for helping this channel grow. Moving forward we'll be covering new games!
@@GoblinSlayerZach Yeah, just give the demo a shot to see if you like it, the combat in Scarlet Nexus is really awkward at first but the longer you play it the easier it gets, Tales of Arise is amazing as well, they're both well worth the investment if you have the time and ambition to play through them all the way, hope that helps a bit.
One thing I hate about SN compared to TOA is how my teammates don’t fight as hard as I do. I do all of the work in SN while my teammates move around like toddlers
Really? That's actually one of the reasons i like them. Hell, i wish they werent even in the combat spaces, just lending me their powers and attacks and that's it. I hate these stupid games with 4-5 characters on screen doing random shit at all times. It's too chaotic and usually results in enemies that don't react to hits and are damage sponges due to the constant and incessant attacks from ai.
@@kato093well I’m tired of being paired up with stupid bots that don’t do shit, every game where you have a party I stand and watch what the teammate AI does, if they can’t beat an enemy without my input it’s dogshit. Final Fantasy 7 remake pisses me off for that reason sometimes, DBZ Kakarot actually surprised me on that front. I just wish they added MORE enemies to fight instead of making my teammates completely useless unless I’m pressing an input for them, and I strongly wish they don’t go your route and take the characters out of the 3d space just to jump in when you input a command, why are you playing a teammate based game if you don’t want teammates fighting alongside you? Might as well not even have a party system. Either flesh out a good teammate system or don’t make a teammate system at all, why play a party based ARPG if you want your teammates out of the way? You’re looking for a single player experience with 1 protagonist homie, not a party system. Play a 1 protagonist game instead of asking party based games to be more like 1 protagonist games if you can’t handle multiple characters on screen at the same time
In a hack n slash, personally I think it’s a good thing. I want to stylishly combo on enemies like I’m Dante from Devil May Cry and I can’t do that if battles keep ending early.
Crazy that I find this video as I'm between picking between the two for a steam sale.i wanna get a decent ARPG for my steam deck and these two seem the most interesting. Tales is slightly more at around $25, while Scarlet is around $15-$16. 😬 This video DEFINITELY helps.
I prefer the combat and the look of the world so far in Scarlett Nexus (And the crazy enemy design, one type wears a corset over sexy thighs that turn in to goat legs that support a flower pot body with blooming flowers for a... head? While another enemy was like a rhino who I defeated by punching him in his light bulbs and I'm pretty sure I haven't taken any acid)
Scarlet nexus felt better to me. Sure it’s not as lengthy and big as tales arise. But when the epic moments happen in scarlet nexus, they actually do hit. Like the final boss for example, to me that felt like an all or nothing fight.
Scarlet nexus got boring before even the 10 hour mark, couldn't even finish the thing. Tales of arise has much better gameplay and pacing by far that constantly keeps you engaged, where scarlet nexus sludges to a slow crawl at times with very bland characters that don't make you invested in them.
@@nottomiokagiyu9830 tales of arise was my first tales game that I've completed, so I'm by no means a tales fanboy, I've just played both games and toa is better
I liked Arise more (overall felt better with story, characters, combat, world/field map (this is definitely one thing Arise has a huge edge on...SN felt's maps felt too much like God Eater/Monster Hunter's mission maps and hub map rather than an actual world while Arise felt like an actual world you journeyed through), and so on) but I will say that as far as final boss goes Scarlet Nexus definitely had a far more fun/epic final boss and fight than Arise did (and I'm not counting the final duel fight with you know who...for Arise, the final boss in Arise is the 2 stage fight before that imo as that duel is made to be nearly impossible to lose...kinda like the final fight in Symphonia Dawn of a New World and it's there just to add flavor to the story and wasn't really necessary). SN also had far better alli AI than Arise (which as far as the Tales series goes Arise's ally AI is perhaps the worst in the series by far...same with the AI strategy menu due to it being party based rather than individual character based (many of the AI issues likely could get fixed if they let you customize each character's AI individually tbh)).
"It's better to play a 7 that you love than an 8 that you never finish." So true. I love Tales- but I love Scarlet Nexus a wee bit more. Just a wee bit. ^_^ And Idk why gamers have such strong opinions on which game is better- when in fact, playing games is a "solitary" activity"- it's YOUR CHOICE all the time- so the fun others are having on a game is just plain irrelevant since you don't get to experience other people's "fun" personally. FUN IS ALWAYS PERSONAL and subjective. So yeah, let's just have fun with our choices- that's it. ^_^
TOA is one of the best modern RPG's and one of my favourite games of all time, i loved the world and characters so much more than SN and was a better game in my opinion, everyone should give it a chance
I don't know on what basis you place that claim on, but SN's artstyle is unique as well. The retro futuristic holographic world was pretty unique. The only other game that even comes close to this art style is soul hackers 2, but even the difference between those 2 are vast. So both games have a pretty unique art style. @@kisigma1011
I liked both of these games a lot. But if I had to choose, it'd definitely be Tales of Arise. It's got some of the best gameplay I've seen in a video game, the story and characters are absolutely wonderful, and above all else the music is still just as great as it always is for the series.
My only issue with toa was the grind because even killing everything otw to the boss you'll still be out leveled like they're pushing you to buy level packs
@@romellpoellinetz7435 what was your level when you finished it? I finished it arounnd 65-75 in Hard Mode, and I probably haven't even done half the side quests, nor unlocked most of the titles of characters (even just the novice trainingn grounds titles, nor cook meal 5x, etc, weren't unlocked)
Idk really anything about either of these games, but I was considering getting one of them and it is quite ironic that I was trying to decide between the two, and I stumble across a video that actually compares them both. So @harlingaming, thank you for that. I’ll probably end up getting them both at some point, but I think I’ll start with TOA.
"Better to play a 7 that you love than an 8 that you never finish." I LOVE THAT, so many times we're so consumed with review scores that our gut feel and actual personal experiences with a game take a back seat. Not to diminish game reviews or anything, I think it's a great way of getting an overview of how games are and help you make a smarter purchasing decision. But in the end, try out a game if you can, and if you like it, play it (and hopefully ACTUALLY finish it, lol)!
Great video man. I played TOA for the first time and loved it. Just bought SN today and have already put in 4 hours. Bandai is killing it with their games.
Just happy to help. I had to learn that myself after realizing I had intially missed out games I ended up loving (i.e., Dragon's Dogma) because I was too beholden to review scores
I've never played toa but I love SN combat imo is fun especially you advance it more in the brain map and SAS adds even more into it. For me the character area was pretty good imo I enjoyed seeing them develop and maturing it didn't really feel tacked on or flat for me personally I loved getting to interact with them and learning and growing with them though I do wish you got to interact with the gifts you were given by the other characters it just felt really nice imo i still gota beat yuitos side of the story though. Oh and the ost is also a awsome bonus love the ost
@@shushspirit I had a lot of fun with it. I’ve been on a jrpg kick lately and it’s what started it. Lots of fun in the combats if you like devil may cry kinda has those vibes
My choice between the two is Tales of Arise. That is the more interesting game to me. With Scarlet Nexus, I played it for less than an hour before I got bored and turned it off. I've completed Tales of Arise 4 times now, and am working my way through Beyond the Dawn for the second time currently.
Most engaging? Watching cutscenes for necessary stat bonuses was the exact opposite of engaging. Scarlet nexus was an amazing action game when you were in the stages but godamn HATED the standby phases...
dang... just realized i wasn't the only one making the comparison whether to get into Tales of Arise or Scarlet Nexus. i ended getting both a few weeks ago. this, after contemplating for several months. these 2 games (plus The Diofield Chronicle (and maybe Star Ocean: The Divine Force)) serve as transitional games, until these other games come out, God of War Ragnarök, Forspoken, Final Fantasy XVI, Black Myth: Wukong, etc.
Tales without question. Scarlet was a great game though too. But Arise will always have a special place in my heart for the feeling I got when I thought I had just beaten the game… and then they hit me with the “season 2” intro. I absolutely adore Arise.
This is true for pretty much all tales of games. At least everyone I have played. It feels like the games always have a middle breaking point where you completed your mission, but something bigger appears and you get into the second part of the game.
Thank u so much for the review man. As someone who doesn't have alot of time and money to try out games, i've been having a hard time choosing which game to play. Most of the reviews i've seen are only talking about the pro's and never the con's which makes me doubt the credibility of their reviews. Urs however, have helped me alot in deciding.
I love both, but I am conflicted over them. Tales of Arise felt like it really dragged on for me. Especially in the last few dungeons, I just wanted it to be over with. Perhaps I just burned myself out, but still. Though it’s also far deeper and more fleshed out than Scarlet Nexus, which provided a far more tight and focused experience. Really just comes down to preference in the end
i feel the same, scarlet was much better story and characters, i also liked the combat more in scarlet, arise has too much talk and filler plus the characters are too childish and cringe
No you're definitely right about the last dungeon this one really dragged itself for far too long thanks to it's absurd lenght and the barrage of enemies you're forced to fight bc there's no way to dodge them and the last half really was many dungeons back to back, a lot of lore dump and down time where you mostly talk to people before being thrown back for the final dungeon
Its weird because I was loving Arise so much and got most of the game down.. I was convinced it was a masterpiece and was becoming one of my top favs.. Then I dunno.. I was a little under-leveled in one of the last dungeons or so I presume and I just felt burnt out.. So I stopped.. I'm seriously contemplating going back tho now with the other stuff they added with the expansion.. The other game I've been playing more recently.. The story and characters pale in comparison so far but the extremely addictive gameplay almost make up for it.. Its kinda got an YS meets Persona vibe which is very cool.. It should be talked about more
Finished Scarlet Nexus and you're right, the combat is awesome. However, by the end I got tired, and the story's ending was too much of a letdown, and talk about convoluted. Fun, nevertheless.
Yeah, I really felt like they tried to do many things at once with the story, and totally get it feeling old by the end. I had to take a break between both campaigns in order to finish it. Thanks for commenting!
I would say Tales of Arise imo is the better game, but I also like Scarlet Nexus a lot. I have both so I’ve had many hours of enjoyment between them. Either way your critique is fair.
SN was one of my favourite games last year. Haven't played ToA yet but I will 100% The story and combat on SN was just too good. Trully a masterpiece. I hope for a sequel in the future
I remember having a better time with Scarlet Nexus, but Tales of Arise is also fun 😆 Tales of Arise’s story(so far) seems very cool and iirc I had a good impression of Scarlet Nexus’ story as well I also remember doing alright in Scarlet Nexus, everything eventually flowed smoothly, Tales of Arise however, I still feel like I’m just facerolling every fight 😅
Ive played both games and got all their DLC's and heres my take You play tales of arise if you are more into the lore and worldbuilding of the game meanwhile scarlet nexus has one of if not the best gameplay mechanics in a jrpg game with better endgame and dlc content (except story). Plus the boss fights are way better than tales of arise. The story of scarlet nexus was good but if you compare it to a tales game such as arise, I'd rate it a 6/10. The main story lacked presentation and was fcking short so the worldbuilding wasnt that established even with the karen travers dlc story. Tales of arise overall is 7.5/10. I couldve rated it higher if the gameplay was more optimized and smooth. The boss fights were more of a survival game than cinematic or memorable. But Im not lying when I say that tales of arise story and worldbuilding is within top 5 of my favorite tales series. So heres a summary Story - Arise Gameplay - Scarlet nexus DLC story - Arise DLC content except story -Scarlet nexus DLC value - Scarlet nexus (Arise DLC is too expensive and not worth it.) Open world - Scarlet nexus Leveling system - Scarlet nexus Endgame content -Scarlet nexus Affordability -Scarlet nexus. They tend to go on 70%-80% discount frequently than tales
Thank you, Harlin. Both are on big Steam Sales rn. I've decided going with Scarlet Nexus Ultimate Edition 75% off and Eiyuden Chronicles: Rising 80% off. Poggers
Just starting scarlet nexus i feel like its gonna be hard to compare to tales of arise but alot of the other comments are saying its hard so hopefully it lives up to the hype
Scarlet Nexus. Enemy design was significantly better (actually reacting to attacks and being less tanky), the dumbass CP system wasn’t implemented, the story didn’t suddenly fall of hard halfway through the game, the combat system never had “down periods” where nothing happened like the AG inevitably produces, the final boss was more engaging, and the main villain actual had a personality, unlike ToA.
How was it compared to arise? Im usally jnto combat more so I lean towards games like dmc dark souls and roguelites/havk and slashes So would you say sn has better combat or toa? (I despise turn based game and toa seems to be one based on the demo)
@@horanghaeapologist SN and ToA have similar style combat. They're generally hack and slash with the goal to damage a Crush(SN) or Break(ToA) bar and trigger a QTE to do massive damage. Each game feature unique ways to incorporate party members into battle. In TOA you can play as whomever you want as long as they're in your party and in SN you're stuck playing as the main character only. Both games combat are very similar in feel and strategy. I'm going to give the edge to ToA overall solely because you can play as anyone and being able to do that keeps the game fresh and extremely fun. But SN has more of a skill ceiling and is a great deal harder to master but once you get familiar with all the controls it's super exciting. Boss battles in SN are a lot more difficult and a hell if a lot more fun. Both games are great and it's no wonder they both fought over the RPG of the year spot. You cant lose by playing either game.
Probably getting Scarlet Nexus now as it is 75% off (PSN Brasil) and Tales of Arise is still crazily expensive. Played both demo version, but ToA didn’t impressed me as SN which I really enjoyed playing it.
Dropped Scarlet nexus before finishing it. It started enjoyable and fascinating, but the combat feels samey all throughout. I don't feel anything substantially different with the "other-character-skills". The other different character (edit: male or female) plays substantially the same too. The world is bland too. The items, equips, progressions and other non-action gameplay mechanics are bland and somewhat obligatory only. For me, TOA feels like an actual triple A game, whereas, SN feels like an indie game with Triple A glaze.
as someone who has and has played both i like both for different reasons. tails of arise has more engaging characters while scarlett nexus arguebly has more fleshed out story with the characters lacking as a result. tails of arise has the better combat imo but that mainly because i peefer combat with skills to choose from and upgrade rather then relying on other characters in scarlett to use the different abilities and such not to mention each character in tails feels distinctly different amd usable in certain situations. overall I'd say there both tied for me. if you have to choose one it really all depends on what your looking for. for combat and more story driven characters I'd say tails. but for simply the story I'd go with scarlet pnly because its story doesn't feel as slow later on
@@harlingaming6905 ofc ofc. combat is overall preference so ultimately with good combat it depends on your type and both are still extremely smooth. im really nitpicking with my complaint since its a personal one.tails main issue is that the bosses feel like damage sponges rather then difficult.
I love the Tales franchise but after seeing TOA gameplay and playing the demo I didn't like it at all. Its a great game but not a very good tales game, while the combat was repetitive in Berseria in Arise is feels more like chore. On the other hand Scarlet Nexus is a new IP I was following it close since it was announced and after playing the demo was a must buy for me. The worst part of Scarlet Nexus is the static cutscenes after seing their normal cutscenes the statics are lame. But this something that have in common both games like they tried to implement something different but failed. For the characters in Scarlet Nexus I didn't feel them flat at all. As you develop their friendship you can see how the relationship evolve and then giving them gifts can tell you a lot about their personalities. So I go for Scarlet Nexus for s fresh new IP with a bright future.
After completing Scarlet Nexus i felt something was incomplete which probably is if they have plans for a sequel. For example, when yuito fights kagero he asks him he suddenly felt yuito became more powerful and arashi says it maybe because of the fact that he might be losing his powers now what i did not like is it leads nowhere after that i mean what was even the point of adding that to the story and it is only addressed if i remember is at the end when kasane asks him. Although still a great game, would love to have a sequel.
I just purchased Scarlet Nexus yesterday. And I’m loving the combat sytem of it. It’s not that hard but also not that easy. It really needs my full attention when battling bosses because I might die when I failed to focus. However, I can’t say what is the better game because I haven’t purchased Tales of Arise yet, I am a bit skeptical based on what the video said, Tales of Arise has a lengthy storyline, that I doubt I can finish. Because I’m busy in real life too that I only play games when there’s a free time. But for now, I think it’s safe to say that it really is better to have a game that has a rate of 7 than a game that has a rate of 8 that you can’t finish.
I've played both pretty much a lot, beside didn't done extra content. Gameplay wise: Not gonna lie, scarlet nexus is top3 hack'n slash game I ever played combat wise (played nier, dmc, Dynasty Warriors, gow and others). It's "hard" in a very good way and you need to understand pretty well game mechanics to do the things in a smooth way. Brain Map is pretty good, equipment also is nice, mainly with lots of accessories, know how to use them well makes a big difference. Level design and map interaction it's where this game shines too. Bring the things on next level. Know how to use the the stuff is pretty important. Tales of Arise has a equal engaging battle style with your pretty good combos. I'll talk specially about Rimwell. Jesus, she is absolutely FUN to play, never a magic caster was so fun to play. Beside it all characters are pretty unique with their own style. I played with Shionne, Alphen and Rimwell most of time. I like the others but AI sometimes is dumb. Kisara in special need extra attention. In ToA strategy and timing matter most than reaction speed, but that second can't be ignored. Knowing how to use your characters also makes a big difference. Cooking and Fishing System are fine. And exploration it's a big part of the game too. Also both game are absolutely gorgeous if you're into Anime style. So, for me it's a draw, they are a success in their own way Story Scarlet Nexus has a good story, it's nothing special, but it's pretty well wrote. The game is rewarding in make 2 different routes with different plots until the point of they converge. Yuito route it's linked to overall world building and main plot of game while Kasane route it's a bit focused on your own characters and a bit about what an Other is. It has a clever narrative. What makes Scarlet Nexus weird it's the bait on use Akai Ito myth without romance. Your main antagonist, Karen it's the most important character. ToA story it's simple to understand plot wise, but it has a better writing and better characters in comparison with Scarlet Nexus. ToA feels deeper overall. It's a bit hard to put in words. Everything feels so natural, until lenegis part the game has an superb pace in a story telling. Plot wise the game it's pretty good too. So another draw Characters: Scarlet Nexus characters aren't bad, but as said in video, they are bland. They have a pretty good construction, but it's a bit hard to relate, but my down here is... Kasane. Kasane it's a bad protagonist, she's annoying and playing her route made me bored sometimes. It feels less rewarding. While Yuito has better characters overall, Yuito is just too much of a good boy, but the story need that he's a reasoning person and his perspective of story is better for overall plot. Gemma, Luka and Tsugumi are good characters, Hanabi is fine, but needed more. While on Kasane platoon Kyoka and Kagero are good and essential for linking Kasane route to main plot on overall, while Arashi is fine as her role... Well, my big deal is Shiden... He works best in Yuito route than Kasane route. The antagonists and supports are good. ToA cast is just... Amazing. God, I'll try to take my sweet tooth for romance the most I can but... ToA main cast melts my heart. All them has so much personality and are so funny. Support characters are also pretty good... But the problem is Vholran. I can understand why he was wrote like that, but Vholran feels absurdly empty. ToA interactions are richer and works pretty well with the overall. And that ending, when the ending song start to play I cried... Like, came so naturally So ToA wins here. OST Scarlet has more variety, ToA ost is prettier. So a draw. Overall experience ToA is my pick, but if you can play both, play both. They are unique games and pretty good at their own way. Bamco is doing a amazing job with your jrpgs. Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth and mainly Hacker's Memory and SRW VXT/30 are on overall good games too with their unique style of gameplay. Idk about Digimon Survive, didn't play it yet.
I don’t understand peoples hatred for the end of tales of arise, I thought it was great. Tales was pretty much flawless in my opinion. I’ve always loved the tales series and when I saw the combat and graphics upgrades, it immediately shot up to one of the top games in the entire series. Top 2 or 3 for sure. Both games were amazing though but arise was better
I may go back to SN having finished Tales of Arise. I’m not into anime stuff but I was pleasantly surprised playing tales. It’s beautiful on the Series X. The combat is addicting and flashy. And I thought the story was great throughout (people for some reason think mid game and late game suck and only the beginning area is good. Which I completely disagree but oh well). It has a lot of heart and a lot of charm. It’s corny and maybe a little cringe from time to time. But it’s slavery subject matter keeps things dark enough to stay engaged with the narrative. Great game. I started Scarlet Nexus and never beat it but perhaps that will change now that I’m in an anime mood
@@kahotiicxscoopz I can also recommend the DLC cus even after you beat it you’re gonna miss that cast of characters and all their charisma when you stop playing so you’ll want to play the DLC too.
I played both and my vote goes to Scarlet Nexus. ToArise isnt really any different from past tales games aside from the graphics and presentation. SN did great for a new ip with lesser budget to work on and that SAS is so addicting once you get use to it.
True true. I played both, and ToA combat doesnt feel fun even with all its gorgeous visual. SN, i only played for 2 and half hours, already feel the combat is better than ToA (after playing ToA 30+ hours
I love everything about Scarlet Nexus, it's an amazing game with great conbat, story and characters. I remember falling asleep whilst playing the demo for Tales Of Arise, so i might not play it. Scarlet Nexus is my most favorite Non-Sonic game and I've not even beat one story yet.
My thoughts on both games And who wins each category. Characters: Scarlet Nexus Lore: Tales of Arise Combat: Scarlet Nexus Enemy Design: Tales of Arise Story: Scarlet Nexus (By a landslide) Side Quests: Tales of Arise Character Customization: Tales of Arise Music: Both DLC: Scarlet Nexus And this coming from a long-time Tales fan... I really think Scarlet Nexus is a better game. While Tales of Arise has many redeeming qualities, it doesn't actually deliver that good ol' Tales quality. The characters like any other suffer from the same anime tropes as many other triple A JRPGs, The combat is OK, but the boost strike camera along with the camera for the mystic artes moves so fast, you'll practically have to either be able to follow DBZ levels of movement with your eyes or simple watch them over and over and over again; which with how many hours it takes to complete this game... you will. Scarlet Nexus' monster design is very... constant. The monster end up looking so similar that many times when completing side quests, I went after a monster only to realize I was killing the wrong one because I didn't notice that the alternate had a characteristic that was barely different from the former. This is where Scarlet Nexus suffers. The lore is there in Scarlet Nexus... Just there. Not much to say about it. And while Tales of Arise has better lore, it tends to rely on extremely long exposition dumps quite a bit to inform the player. Character customization is alright in Scarlet Nexus, just better in Tales of Arise. I had more fun with it, is all. Music is good in both games. But the story is where Tales of Arise definitely falls short. If you want to count on your ten fingers how many JRPG tropes the writers copped, then you're gonna need a whole lot more. Borderline femboy protagonist that can't be too masculine or else it'll alienate the female audience? Check. Lost my memory, but I'll eventually get it back only to discover I'm way more important than I initially thought? Check. We can't have actual consequences or sacrifices happen that would make sense in the world we built but will write ourselves into an easy ending with no one dying through the "power of friendship?" Check. Pulling out a surprise villain at the end of the story that no one has ever heard of and the player won't care about just to cap off the story? Check. The list goes on. And while Scarlet Nexus isn't free from any tropes itself, it indulges in them far less often. Tales games of old never used so many tropes to write their way into an easy ending to a situation. Colette contracts a rare disease in Symphonia. What do you think they did? Traveled the world in search of a cure through means that would make sense in the story and world, or... cure her with the power of friendship? If you chose the former, you are correct. This is what was needed in Tales of Arise, and it falls short several times in characters and story. But all-in-all, if you like playing a game with a relatively basic story and... interesting... characters; ToA is your game. If you're looking to immerse yourself into a believable world where fate and consequences are real. Where you don't know who you might lose by the end of the game because you've grown so attached to them with twists here and there, Scarlet Nexus. My thoughts. There ya go. ✌🏼
I've experienced Tales Of Arise's combat system firsthand, wow so fluid! When fighting normal enemies, not so much when it comes to Minibosses and bosses though, they can only be staggered by boost skills which was kind of dull, I didn't really like it, especially when the boss' health is like 400k (looking at you Nazamil) or 800k+ (looking at you again Nazamil), in normal difficulty.
Thanks for kind words! I'm just happy to see people engaging with the content, hopefully subs will come as pump out more consistently. It's a grind but comments like this keep me going
Played and beaten both games. Tales of Arise hands down. My biggest negative about ToA is the fact that i got all the achievements in a single playthrough once i did that i felt no need to play the game again. It doesnt give you a reason to play NG+ unlike Scarlet Nexus. When you finish one characters story, Your gear carries over to the next main characters story which is SN biggest positive. My gripe with SN was gear crafting. In RGPS like this you grind to get the best weapon in the story until you begin post game content. With SN if your doing all the side missions and farming for certain materials, you can have yuito/kasane's best weapon in the whole game before you're even barely halfway through the game. When you finish either characters story they'll be post game weapon you can craft but its completely pointless because it has same stats as the yuito/kasane's default weapon fully crafted
In January 2024 it's stupid to just pick one. They are more expensive on their own and just $25 for the bundle. Today there is no choice but to buy them both.
I haven't finished Scarlet Nexus but I've finished Tales of Arise and it's definitely a freaking gold. It's beyond great and these two games have different combat system as well as setting so I don't think the comparison hits if they are not on equal. However, I like them both but I love Tales of Arise since I've finished it. Looking forward on finishing Scarlet Nexus as well!
I got SN last year and holy shit I loved the game, never played TOA so I can't express my opinion about the game but if you have the chance buy SN it's definitely worth it
Really enjoying tales of arise right now. I am no where near finishing it either. But it’s good to look out for another game in the same genre to look out for next.
I absolutely hated Tales of arise felt like it was one step forward and two steps back. Storyline failed to even be near berseria being campy in a bad way throughout the entire campaign and gameplay was lacking...severely when stacked up against an older game from the franchise Tales of Graces that had one of the most indepth combat mechanics out of any tales games to this day. I'm just meh o.- Scarlet Nexus is better grabbed me from beginning of the world and to its very end.
I'll go with ToA. Now I do like Sci-Fi of SN and characters as well as Combat System. The story is too short for me. In ToA I really had a lot of lore and mystery. In SN it just felt like a big Exposition Dump and super quick wrap up😑😑😑
I would say Scarlet Nexus is better and for a new ip man it made me want a sequel. TOA mechanics don't even apply to boss battles which ruins the combat greatly and story falls offf hard in the 2nd half. I also think the Nexus cast is better implemented into the game too. Scarlet Nexus story premise is also a really interesting and cool concept imo. TOA is alright but i don't think its a great Tales of game in comparison to the older titles of the series personally. Which is preferred comes down to preferences though.
I choose Scarlet Nexus personally. Tales of Arise was great yeah but compared to other’s experience I didn’t have as great of a time with ToA’s story, gameplay and characters as everyone else did. It was inverse for me on the contrary for a lot of other people’s thoughts. I almost dropped ToA because it started to become a slog.
Imo, if it is about gameplay wise, it is difficult to compare because they are very fun on their own ways. SN have cool mechanics while ToA have so many explosive flashy move. So imo, ToA is better because SN is lacking on the characters development. Both games have many letdown on the story but ToA is still better. The one that i really like SN more than ToA is the music. All SN ost is such a banger while ToA ost is forgettable. Ah but ToA OP songs is better than SN lol
Gonna say that 1 thing you missed talking about that could also help determine between the two is how the field maps/dungeons are handled between both games: -Scarlet Nexus treats the world more like say God Eater or Monster Hunter where you more or less are at a hub and then choose which map (dungeon or town) you go to based off that particular mission. -Tales of Arise on the other hand goes the classic full on rpg field/world map and multiple towns route you'd see in almost all classic long running story focused rpgs like FF, DQ, other Tales games, Trails games, etc. On top of that as far as all the Tales games that have fully controllable cameras for the world map (the Xillias, Zestiria, Berseria, and Arise) Arise definitely has the most visually appealing and most solid layout as far as each and every field map/dungeon goes (well...besides the final dungeon...the other 4 I mentioned all had more interesting final dungeons than Arise tbh, the cameo focused post game extra dungeon was cool though as it definitely hit some nostalgia points for some past games lol) And if we take this last aspect of each game and then the others you mentioned (where imo Arise beat out SN each time by quite a bit...SN was still solid in all aspects though, especially in comparison to other games out there and was still tied for my 2nd favorite game of 2021 with Ys 9 while Arise took the 1st place slot/game of the year 2021 for me) Arise definitely takes it as far as map design goes as, while visually nice, SN just didn't have that much variety/you had to repeatedly go through the same maps far too often in comparison to Arise (where if you just follow story you actually will not go back to a previous Lord's region outside of the 2nd and 1st Lord's at close to end game for a very brief moment to get to a new dungeon in the 1st region...if you do side quests or just want to see if NPC dialogue changes (it does happen about 2 to 3 times in the game...and yes I went back after every story segement to see if it does as I like to see how npcs think of events occurring in a game...some games update the text 1 or 2 times an entire playthrough while others (Trails and Ys in particular) will update npc text about 3 to 4 times per chapter in game/over 12 times for the entire game when certain story triggers/side quests occur)). Ya Arise's story does fall a bit in the second half's events (granted seems to be a curse for the Tales series for a while now) the story is still fairly solid and characters fun (especially if you're watching skits...don't watch skits you lose out on a whole lot of character development...in fact the Tales skits system is one reason why Tales characters are some of, if not the most fleshed out characters in most jrpgs in general, granted they're optional so if you skip skits you lose out on some interactions between party members/background info/how their relationships develop over time (which is why I never skip them)). I do think the story would've been better off without the twist in who was controlling things behind the scenes (cause unfortunately due to the nature of said final baddie explaining their motivations well was kinda hard/vague and left much to be desired...fell like it would've been better off being used by another baddie as a tool tbh...granted Arise's final act was still better than say Vesperia or Zestiria's final acts where either the baddie in said games felt disconnected from the rest of the game's plot in Vesperia's case (hell Vesperia felt like the plots of 3 different games glued together with bobo brand superglue in comparison cause at least the big baddie's actions/motivations affected the earlier events directly unlike Vesperia's) or in the case of Zestiria Arise didn't have the big baddie essentially have not motivation or really any agency/involvement with the rest of the game at all and didn't just sit back and do nothing like Zestiria's did until the final hour of the game) and it'd have been better off just continuing with leaving the group who were the villains as the villains to the end (Renan government for all intents and purposes with maybe some Renans siding with you as rebels or something who would align with Dohalim and Shionne) even if it meant for a more straightforward story...the whole forgiveness aspect also should've never been thrown in given Kisara put their situation best at the end of Lord 3's events with the whole idea of her not being able to forgive the Renans but she was still willing to put said feelings aside and work alongside the ones who decided to ally with the Dahnans to build a better future for both their people's sakes. Combat was definitely the best of any recent game for me though and far outpaced Scarlet Nexuses (was good too but didn't pull me in as much as Arise's) and it's easily the 2nd best combat system in the Tales series/gaming in general imo with only Tales of Xillia 2/Hearts R's combat system being above it. Basically Arise is a 9.3/10 game for me while Scarlet Nexus is an 8.8/10 game (basically both are 9/10 if you round up or down), that's how close they are to each other imo and SN could've been over a 9 if they went with a fully realized field map/world map where all things were connected together instead of the more instance/mission based map design it chose.
Good review. Imo Tales of Arise is the better one, but that‘s subjective of course. Furthermore to me Tales of Arise could‘ve had more content in it. The main story felt too short or at least not dense enough.
Scarlet Nexus is a DOPE game! No questions about it. However, Tales Of Arise takes the lead on this one. In fact, Scarlet Nexus don't even remotely come close. Alright, I may be going a little too far now lol. But Tales Of Arise is by far a much superior game. In almost every ways. Fucking LOVE Scarlet Nexus though! Too bad I didn't buy it at launch! Poor marketing that's why.
Haven't finished either game yet (I've gotten passed the Water Lord in Tales of Arise and I've beaten Yuito's campaign and currently going through Kasane's in Scarlet Nexus), but if I had to choose which one I like more, Tales of Arise. Part of it is just my preference for fantasy over science fiction, but I also like that you can play as each party member, as opposed to Scarlet Nexus where you can only play as Yuito or Kasane. Also, I feel like the story for Scarlet Nexus suffers a bit by splitting it into two separate campaigns; which ever one you play first ends up having spoilers for the other.
Based on your comment I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on Arise after finishing. You're right at the point where the game started to sour for me personally. I think the dual stories in Scarlet Nexus forms a cohesive whole it's just one that I don't find to be that great. Anyway thanks for engaging
@@harlingaming6905 I've been meaning to get back to Arise, but I've got other games I'm working through, plus my job. As for Scarlet Nexus, the dual stories work together, it's just that experiencing one spoils the other, since most of the major story beats are presented in both sides of the story. It gets some mileage out of it by having details not covered in one campaign show up in the other, but by the end of one, you know roughly 90% of the story. I don't know, I guess I'm just used to games with dual stories not being as intertwined as Scarlet Nexus, that it felt a little lackluster playing through the other character's campaign.
@@thedothackerkeyblademaster That's fair. Frankly I think the story was written that way so that the developers had an excuse to reuse the same assets while doubling the runtime. Honestly I think you're at the perfect point to stopping point for Arise anyway. Thanks for commenting!
Both games are great but Scarlet Nexus is better because Tales of Arise starts to really drag on with last dungeon and post-game content with making you fight the same bosses multiple times.
I agree with your person choice. Once you play Scarlet Nexus, every game you play you will think "fun, but not as good combat as scarlet nexus". I want more than anything for that style of combat in a game like elden ring
To me? Scarlet nexus. Gameplay was faster, much snappier, and felt more meaningful. about all your attacks more consistently focused on interacting with the enemy in different ways that reward you better than ToA. In ToA, most bosses are basic damage sponges that do not stagger to artes that don't flow together in combos and unable to cancel out of. Also has characters I found more enjoyable
I have no idea why this video blew up but I'm happy to see so many people engaged in conversation about these two great games! Thanks for watching!
People enjoy comparison, count downs and ranking vids. I remember a UA-camr saying those types of vids are good for early days of a channel.
Bro, you just made this decision 10 x harder 🤣. I was set on Arise, but the way you ended it!!! I don't know if I can take Nexus' pacing.
well thx to you , now that both are on sale, i got scarlet
1 great game, and that's Arise. Scarlet Nexus should be buried in the deepest reaches of the earth.
both games are in a bundle. People need to find out if the bundle is great value :P
I actually gave up playing SN because it just felt so bland
Sounds like I'm buying Tales of Arise after beating SN
For the passing by readers, Disclaimer: The 'fleshing out' stops at the 2nd half of the story.
Then it becomes a messy story-telling hell.
@@Introversion399 This! TOA starts very well then it's story becomes a total mess!
It's one of those game for which you can really tell that they really missed the landing to almost a laughing point, like it was almost done on purpose.
The satisfaction that I got after finishing Tales of Arise was on another level, when I finished Scarlett nexus I was like "yeah that was kinda fun, anyway" but with tales of arise I rlly got involved into the world, the characters and the story, not to mention the amazing combat, it was just on a whole different level compared to my personal experience with Scarlet Nexus.
just sold me the game homeboy
I didn't even finish scarlet nexus, combat was fun but literally everything else was ass.
We have very different views on amazing combat
Perfect comment!! it's all about tastes. some people adore Pokémon others despise it. play what YOU enjoy and try others just for the experience. just like he said: "Better to play a 7 that you love than an 8 that you never finish."
Interesting, I heard from a reviewer that writing-wise, Scarlet Nexus and Code Vein is better than Tales of Arise.
God damn you both, I’m undecided by which to buy and your not helping me lean one way or the other. Either safe bet Arise or all-in Nexus.
@@GoblinSlayerZach Haha if it helps Scarlet Nexus has a free demo on PlayStation and Xbox and is free to gamespass subscribers!
I don’t need allies, let me RIP IT UP BABY!
That's the kingdom hearts/final fantasy approach right there, it gets boring if your AI allies do most of the work for you, i'd prefer it that way
Crazy that I find this video as I'm between picking between the two for a steam sale.i wanna get a decent ARPG for my steam deck and these two seem the most interesting.
Tales is slightly more at around $25, while Scarlet is around $15-$16. 😬
This video DEFINITELY helps.
Tales of Arise for me, no question.
Yea is so good!
@@zen6529 I pray it's not a troll from a Tales of series fanboy.
@@zen6529 i mean it isnt better you just personally find it more fun, just like i find sn more fun
Scarlet nexus blows me away ... A masterpiece no doubt about it.
TOA is one of the best modern RPG's and one of my favourite games of all time, i loved the world and characters so much more than SN and was a better game in my opinion, everyone should give it a chance
TOA artwork and style is so original compare to SN
Don't defend tales dogshit game boring combat and circle arenas.
@@kisigma1011…, right….ok
I don't know on what basis you place that claim on, but SN's artstyle is unique as well. The retro futuristic holographic world was pretty unique. The only other game that even comes close to this art style is soul hackers 2, but even the difference between those 2 are vast. So both games have a pretty unique art style. @@kisigma1011
@@morriganrenfield8240I mean it kinda is. Just cause the Scarlet Nexus artstyle is better doesn’t make the art direction better
You did a great job breaking down the pros and cons of both games I would definitely give both games a try
I liked both of these games a lot. But if I had to choose, it'd definitely be Tales of Arise. It's got some of the best gameplay I've seen in a video game, the story and characters are absolutely wonderful, and above all else the music is still just as great as it always is for the series.
I actually debated whether to include music as a category because they both have really solid soundtracks
I'm a little late but these two games have been in my head for a long time so when I saw the title i was like "what?!"
Great vid btw!
Saaaaame 😂
Great feedback on both games, currently playing Scarlet Nexus, and thinking of buying Tales of Arise next.
I truly appriciate this as both games are on sale atm on ps4 and I have a hard time deciding which one
but i'm either choosing Scarlet Nexus or both
i played scarlet nexus and i gotta tell that this game is made so freaking good
Great video man. I played TOA for the first time and loved it. Just bought SN today and have already put in 4 hours. Bandai is killing it with their games.
"It's better to place a 7 that you love than an 8 that you'll never finish..." That just become my new way of evaluating games...thank you!
Yep I love how the game offers you a lot of options and different strategies... Virtually no companion ability is useless.
Yep! I agree on all points!
Story: Tales
Gameplay: Scarlet
(I like fishing tho)
I got scarlet nexus for pretty cheap $20cdn. Absolutely loved it. Really got me back into jrpgs. I really want to play arise, it’s next on my list.
just got it for like $12 pretty freaking excited, looks really good!!
TALES!! Both are dope though
i like Scarlet nexus more for the combat system and the story, but tales Is a masterpiece too
dang... just realized i wasn't the only one making the comparison whether to get into Tales of Arise or Scarlet Nexus. i ended getting both a few weeks ago. this, after contemplating for several months. these 2 games (plus The Diofield Chronicle (and maybe Star Ocean: The Divine Force)) serve as transitional games, until these other games come out, God of War Ragnarök, Forspoken, Final Fantasy XVI, Black Myth: Wukong, etc.
Forspoken is bad 😢
Forspoken was a joke🤣
I love Tales of Arise I love the Story and the gameplay it’s the best game I played on my Steam deck
Tales of arise for story
Scarlet nexus for gameplay
Both games have amazing characters
So why not both games :P
I definitely prefer ToA. I played Scarlet Nexus, but somehow it wasn’t mine. I even was kinda glad when I finished it. Can’t explain why.
I juat bought both in a bundle so thanks. I had to choose between buying bith but not the Tales of Arise DLC or the 2 games and I opted for both games
As someone who has beat both, Arise is a better game overall.
Tales of Arise, hands down. The story is just so good.
Agreed. Enjoyed arise but felt the last third dragged.
i feel the same, scarlet was much better story and characters, i also liked the combat more in scarlet, arise has too much talk and filler plus the characters are too childish and cringe
It should be talked about more
All I can say is mystic artes and brain crushes are just amazing
Arise is a better game. BUT! Scarlet Nexus is a one of a kind RPG! Nothing like it. Both phenomenal games!
Tales of Arise as the main dish, Scarlet Nexus as the side dish. Both are good.
That line at 8:23 is powerful, so true. Great Video, subbed and Scarlet Nexus is my final choice lol!
Scarlett nexus all the way, but i just dont like how the story only still graphic with voiceover
I would say Tales of Arise imo is the better game, but I also like Scarlet Nexus a lot. I have both so I’ve had many hours of enjoyment between them.
Either way your critique is fair.
SN was one of my favourite games last year. Haven't played ToA yet but I will 100%
The story and combat on SN was just too good. Trully a masterpiece. I hope for a sequel in the future
The fuck is wrong with you, how do you develop an opinion that the game and story is good?
I remember having a better time with Scarlet Nexus, but Tales of Arise is also fun 😆
Tales of Arise’s story(so far) seems very cool and iirc I had a good impression of Scarlet Nexus’ story as well
I also remember doing alright in Scarlet Nexus, everything eventually flowed smoothly, Tales of Arise however, I still feel like I’m just facerolling every fight 😅
scarlet is much better imo
Scarlet nexus was a huge surprise for me
Ive played both games and got all their DLC's and heres my take
You play tales of arise if you are more into the lore and worldbuilding of the game meanwhile scarlet nexus has one of if not the best gameplay mechanics in a jrpg game with better endgame and dlc content (except story).
So heres a summary
Story - Arise
Gameplay - Scarlet nexus
DLC story - Arise
DLC content except story -Scarlet nexus
DLC value - Scarlet nexus (Arise DLC is too expensive and not worth it.)
Open world - Scarlet nexus
Leveling system - Scarlet nexus
Endgame content -Scarlet nexus
Affordability -Scarlet nexus.
Your really gonna hate the team boss fights
Scarlet Nexus. Enemy design was significantly better (actually reacting to attacks and being less tanky), the dumbass CP system wasn’t implemented, the story didn’t suddenly fall of hard halfway through the game, the combat system never had “down periods” where nothing happened like the AG inevitably produces, the final boss was more engaging, and the main villain actual had a personality, unlike ToA.
At the time I bought Arise and it's in my top 3 favorites of all time. Just finally bought SN on sale, cant wait to play it once it downloads.
How was it compared to arise?
Im usally jnto combat more so I lean towards games like dmc dark souls and roguelites/havk and slashes
So would you say sn has better combat or toa?

Glad I’m not the only one. I mean I finished, but it still felt so long, even though it’s not even as long as ToA
i am actually research which game i want to start playing. very useful comparison
as someone who has and has played both i like both for different reasons. tails of arise has more engaging characters while scarlett nexus arguebly has more fleshed out story with the characters lacking as a result. tails of arise has the better combat imo but that mainly because i peefer combat with skills to choose from and upgrade rather then relying on other characters in scarlett to use the different abilities and such not to mention each character in tails feels distinctly different amd usable in certain situations. overall I'd say there both tied for me. if you have to choose one it really all depends on what your looking for. for combat and more story driven characters I'd say tails. but for simply the story I'd go with scarlet pnly because its story doesn't feel as slow later on
I agree with a lot of this take. The only spot we disagree on is combat but everyone has different tastes. Thanks for commenting!
Bought both. Lol but idk when I will start playing them.
A well put review. This guy deserve more subs. Thanks!
I just purchased Scarlet Nexus yesterday. And I’m loving the combat sytem of it. It’s not that hard but also not that easy. It really needs my full attention when battling bosses because I might die when I failed to focus.
However, I can’t say what is the better game because I haven’t purchased Tales of Arise yet, I am a bit skeptical based on what the video said,
Tales of Arise has a lengthy storyline, that I doubt I can finish. Because I’m busy in real life too that I only play games when there’s a free time.
But for now, I think it’s safe to say that it really is better to have a game that has a rate of 7 than a game that has a rate of 8 that you can’t finish.
I've played both pretty much a lot, beside didn't done extra content.
Gameplay wise:
Not gonna lie, scarlet nexus is top3 hack'n slash game I ever played combat wise (played nier, dmc, Dynasty Warriors, gow and others).
So, for me it's a draw, they are a success in their own way
Story
Scarlet Nexus has a good story, it's nothing special, but it's pretty well wrote.
So another draw
Characters:
Scarlet Nexus characters aren't bad, but as said in video, they are bland.
Like, came so naturally
So ToA wins here.
OST
Scarlet has more variety, ToA ost is prettier.
Scarlet Nexus and Code Vein felt like tech demos for Tales of Arise.
Dude 100% this is me right now! Decided to get ToA on sale, and I have not been able to put it down since!
@@kahotiicxscoopz I can also recommend the DLC cus even after you beat it you’re gonna miss that cast of characters and all their charisma when you stop playing so you’ll want to play the DLC too.
@@zukinu12skinnyp4hell ya I’ll def be picking it up when I get paid next! I appreciate you! Thanks so much!
Characters: Scarlet Nexus
Lore: Tales of Arise
Combat: Scarlet Nexus
Enemy Design: Tales of Arise
Story: Scarlet Nexus (By a landslide)
Side Quests: Tales of Arise
Character Customization: Tales of Arise
Music: Both
DLC: Scarlet Nexus
And this coming from a long-time Tales fan...
I've played both...so far for gameplay and graphic i prefer SN.
Great video. And even better editing. You deserve many more subs.
I got SN last year and holy shit I loved the game, never played TOA so I can't express my opinion about the game but if you have the chance buy SN it's definitely worth it
The joke is I had to make make this choice today! But at $9.79 for the deluxe edition Scarlet Nexus won over for me
I Platinum Tales of Arise and now I'm into Scarlet Nexus
Really enjoying tales of arise right now. I am no where near finishing it either. But it’s good to look out for another game in the same genre to look out for next.
Both of these games are $5 new at GameStop right now. Picked em both up!
This is a very mature analysis.
I think i love them both equally for different reasons sn wins for music but toa wins for general world design for me amongst other reasons
Story based TOA, Gameplay based SN
Imo, if it is about gameplay wise, it is difficult to compare because they are very fun on their own ways. SN have cool mechanics while ToA have so many explosive flashy move.
So imo, ToA is better because SN is lacking on the characters development. Both games have many letdown on the story but ToA is still better. The one that i really like SN more than ToA is the music. All SN ost is such a banger while ToA ost is forgettable. Ah but ToA OP songs is better than SN lol
Gonna say that 1 thing you missed talking about that could also help determine between the two is how the field maps/dungeons are handled between both games:
-Scarlet Nexus treats the world more like say God Eater or Monster Hunter where you more or less are at a hub and then choose which map (dungeon or town) you go to based off that particular mission.
-Tales of Arise on the other hand goes the classic full on rpg field/world map and multiple towns route you'd see in almost all classic long running story focused rpgs like FF, DQ, other Tales games, Trails games, etc. On top of that as far as all the Tales games that have fully controllable cameras for the world map (the Xillias, Zestiria, Berseria, and Arise) Arise definitely has the most visually appealing and most solid layout as far as each and every field map/dungeon goes (well...besides the final dungeon...the other 4 I mentioned all had more interesting final dungeons than Arise tbh, the cameo focused post game extra dungeon was cool though as it definitely hit some nostalgia points for some past games lol)
And if we take this last aspect of each game and then the others you mentioned (where imo Arise beat out SN each time by quite a bit...SN was still solid in all aspects though, especially in comparison to other games out there and was still tied for my 2nd favorite game of 2021 with Ys 9 while Arise took the 1st place slot/game of the year 2021 for me) Arise definitely takes it as far as map design goes as, while visually nice, SN just didn't have that much variety/you had to repeatedly go through the same maps far too often in comparison to Arise (where if you just follow story you actually will not go back to a previous Lord's region outside of the 2nd and 1st Lord's at close to end game for a very brief moment to get to a new dungeon in the 1st region...if you do side quests or just want to see if NPC dialogue changes (it does happen about 2 to 3 times in the game...and yes I went back after every story segement to see if it does as I like to see how npcs think of events occurring in a game...some games update the text 1 or 2 times an entire playthrough while others (Trails and Ys in particular) will update npc text about 3 to 4 times per chapter in game/over 12 times for the entire game when certain story triggers/side quests occur)).
The only problem I have with Tales of Arise is the lack of post game content, and that the game ends.
Nice video. You’ve earned a new subscriber.
Also has characters I found more enjoyable
its jrpg you gona watch cutscenes for 29 hours in 30 hours of *gameplay*
Personally I don’t think the characters in Scarlet Nexus Bland, but that’s your opinion
That's fair. Everyone has different tastes, but the characters definitely didn't do it for me.
@@harlingaming6905 Ye, the only character I disliked was Shiden and maybe Kasane but that was only at the start, near the end they got way better
want more games like these with less cutscenes
