    I love my Kobalt Pole Chainsaw - 80-volt - 5-AH battery - 10" Bar - 6 ft / 8ft foot Pole Chainsaw. No electric cord. I've been using Oregon Bars and Chains. I have been using it for more than 3 years now. It works great on my southeast Louisiana farm clearing property that a hurricane went through and trashed all the trees throughout the woods of our 18-acre farm. I carry it all over in our woods and the battery lasts a long time. Today I'll be cutting a 6-inch limb off of a tree out front. I am also using (2) Kobalt 80-volt 18" Bar Chainsaws and using (2) 5 AH Batteries. Cuts huge logs great. The chainsaw first chainsaw wound up in a puddle and stopped working but after a couple of weeks and it had dried out, it started working again. For oil, I like to use Ryobi Bar and chain oil. We have cut 20"+_ logs and works like a charm. And NO more pulling and pulling to start a gas-powered chainsaw. My first 80-volt 18" Bar Chain saw with a 5-AH Battery and charger was $400 in Jul 2021

    I just bought one..my local store has em on clearance for 98.00 bucks. I invested a bit cuz I bought the 40v hedge trimmer $87 and a couple of the 40v led shop lamps for only $30 each. I just hope the batteries last!
    (Longevity) Anyway ...good video.

    Is it compatible with Kobalt 80v battery?
    I have a Kobalt leaf blower. I wonder if I can use the same battery.

  • @EmM-963
    @EmM-963 5 років тому +2

    It was quiet, had a long battery life, and cut fairly large limbs (manual says up to 6 in, but it does cut 8 in), however, I purchased mine in 2016 and it recently developed a crack under the bar which prevents tightening the bar cover. They are no longer selling the 40-volt (now 80v) so replacement is impossible. I purchased an extra battery, so unless I purchase another Kobalt 40-volt item the money has been wasted. This had a 5 year warranty so they are giving me store credit.

    • @WilliamsonRidge
      @WilliamsonRidge  5 років тому +1

      Wow I didn’t know that, my local store still has them in stock, left overs I guess, glad u at least got store credit. I can’t stand when a company has something good and then changes to something else and u can’t get replacements, I bet the 80v won’t be as good. Oh well whatcha gonna do lol.

    Have to twist out and add extension every time you want to make it longer ?

    • @WilliamsonRidge
      @WilliamsonRidge  3 роки тому

      Yeah it has a piece you can ad to it that ads about 2 or 3 feet but it is separate so if you don’t want the extra reach you have to take it apart and store the extension somewhere.

    • @WilliamsonRidge
      @WilliamsonRidge  3 роки тому

      You could pull the bar off and look to see if something is plugging the Oiler hole, if there’s not an obstruction and the Oiler is messed up, Kobalt does offer a 5 year warranty on the tool you could probably just get it replaced.

  • @steveedmonds6457

    I just bought the same unit. Mine only runs on 3 second increments, so if your cutting something larger it can be a pain to cut all the way through, I wonder if mine is defective.

    • @WilliamsonRidge
      @WilliamsonRidge  4 роки тому +1

      Steve Edmonds I would say it is defective unless they changed something on them. Mine will run as long as you have the trigger pulled unless you dig in to hard and it Boggs down to a stop but it’s usually pretty hard to do that. Does it only run three seconds if your not cutting anything with it or only when cutting?

    • @steveedmonds6457
      @steveedmonds6457 4 роки тому +1

      The battery wouldnt charge after 3 charges. I filed a battery claim with Kobalt, waiting for the replacement to arrive. But I went ahead and took the whole thing back with def battery to Lowes to get a full refund because it's been under 30 days. I bought another brand new so hopefully this one lasts, plus I should receive a new extra battery soon.

    I had one, used it hard and it was great, but after a while it started whining and the chain staeredbskipping. I took it apart and found the pinion drive gear dry of grease and worn out. The grease was there but it had been thrown from the gears. I tried to get just the gear from Kobalt but was informed that it was unavailable however it was still under warranty and I should bring it back to Lowe’s for refund or replacement. I chose the refund as a new one would have had the same issues.

    What can I do if the chain keeps falling off

    • @WilliamsonRidge
      @WilliamsonRidge  3 роки тому

      The only reason I would think the chain is falling off is because it’s not adjusted correctly or if your trying to cut small vines they sometimes can get between chain and bar and Knock it off

      When it gets low, it has a sight window so you can keep an eye on it, the manual says to check every 20 minutes of use, it only holds about 2 ozs. No the oil will leak out.
