Great video. Santi Cazorla needs a shout out, for sure. Javi Martinez became a great player in his own right at Bayern as well. People forget he was on the 2010 Spain team too.
Iniesta, busi, cesc fabregas, david silva, david villa, perdo gonzalez, pique and xabi alonso one of the greatest greatest player to grace the field, spain would have surely collapsed without even one or even two players
Damn when you hear underrated on the internet you just know it means “no one is shouting from the rooftops how great they were on a daily basis.” It seldom actually means underrated.
None of these players were underrated 🤣They all played in big clubs and in the national teams and have been widely praised by everyone since ever. David Silva is a legend in Man City, Alonso is a legend in Liverpool, Fabregas in Arsenal, Busquets in Barcelona. There are only 5 players in my understanding that are underrated: Guti, Nedved, Modric, Joao Pinto and Le Tissier (the last two, some people never even heard about them). Guti was constant overshadowed by the Galacticos despite being at times the best player in the team, capable of doing magical things like them. Nedved was a monster that never got much love outside the Serie A and won the Ballon D'Or. Modric despite all the praise he has, people forget that he is a Ballon D'Or winner and in his prime, when he was the best player in the world together with Messi and Ronaldo, people were talking more about Pogba than about him. Joao Pinto never left Portugal but he was considered a star and as good as Figo or Rui Costa while playing for the national team. Le Tissier, well, just search for his UA-cam videos - the man could have easily played for Man United or Barcelona but loved his club Southampton so much that he never left.
I am not going to comment about three guys who are actually good, but wouldn't make not even half of they've made without Messi. For the rest of their lives they gotta light a candle to Saint Messi, so will do their descendance.
Best player by far in 2008 was David Silva, a true beast, the best of his generation for me. Busquets didn't play. Marco Sena was an absolute starting line up. Iniesta was improvised as left winger, as there wasn't space for him in the middle and also Spain didn't have good wingers back then. World Cup was one of the worst campaign of a champion. An average barely superior to a 1 golf per match. The same as Ronaldo in 2002, which is quite low for a champion. They struggled against Paraguay. Anyways, I haven't seen nothing of extraordinary in there. 2012, I can give you that. Busquets played, alongside Xavi and Xabi Alonso in midfield. Iniesta once again pushed to left wing. That team was mature, but the European football was in a transition. Again, the star was David Silva and this time Xavi played the cards very well. I am not saying they are not good players, but Guardiola and Messi were the ones that made these guys play. They wouldn't be able to play together without such a beast like Messi. The team was very slow, almost no counter attack. Not a coincidence Messi scored 91 goals in 2012 or used to be responsible for +/- 85% of goals participation of Barcelona. A commenter was watching Spain with like 600 hundred passes in at 60 min and 60% ball possession but goaless. the guy said: "it's Barcelona without Messi".
@@edydossantos Maybe you didn't see them play in that world cup. And bold of you to assume that Paraguay team wasn't good. In this Copa America that team would have reached the final if not won. And in this Eurocup, easy quarterfinals as well.
@@rafaelc.c. Jesus, Brazil played with four different teams for that qualifiers and won Copa America as well. I am not saying that Spain is crap. Not it all. Only overrated. Just look at the goas average of them for a WC winner. Very poor.
@@edydossantos That world cup wasn't at all their best tournament, yet they were incredibly dominant. It's not that easy to score when you have eleven players in the opposite area. Besides, they could have easily scored 2 or 3 goals to Germany and Netherlands. It was just bad luck and bad refereeing.
That’s English media for you they would rather overhype their mediocre players while barely & briefly mention the top foreign footballers to make sure their players won’t look less & exposed when you compare the two sides fairly. If people talked Zidane straightaway they mention Paul Gascoigne. Are you kidding me? Or John Stones as amazing ball playing CB is like he’s the new Fernando Hierro or Piqué but the funny part they don’t mention the original & the better players only theirs it’s embarrassing
