Finally was able to order a collab and I’m so happy. Absolutely love the color combo ! Can’t wait for spring to use them 😬❤
Seed germination has been a problem this last month here in Sylacauga Alabama, with temperatures into the triple digits every day. It is too hot even in the shade. Even the weeds are struggling. This morning we had the first rain shower in three weeks, and we are being hit with a cold front, with forecasted temp of 92F, and 88-90F for the next five days. After spreading a fresh layer of compost this morning, I sowed seeds for kohlrabi, Brunswick Cabbage, Pak Choi, golden beets, Komatsuna, and Yellow Heart Winter Choy. I'm hoping for germination before the heat returns. Last week, I got cabbage seeds to germinate by starting them in an airconditioned room in the house. I took them outside, and placed them in a shady area, and the summer heat killed them in a single day. My Tokinashi Turnips are starting to bulb up, my Purple top Turnips are looking good, but my rutabagas aren't doing so well. For late summer crops, my cantaloupe are looking good, my crookneck squash is flowering and fruiting, my zucchini is starting to produce flower buds, my strawberries are flowering and fruiting, I am harvesting a lot of pole beans and peppers, and my cherry tomatoes are still flowering and fruiting. I harvested a bunch of Rattlesnake Beans, and assorted peppers this morning.
I feel your pain. Most of my plant starts are inside under grow lights and I’m waiting a few weeks to direct sow a lot of our stuff as well.
I am a giant wimp and thinning my seedlings is SO HARD for me to do. I feel like I'm throwing away so many opportunities, so I save all of my seedlings. Am I overwhelmed with the amount of seedlings I have? Yes. Am I proud of all of my successful seedlings? Yes. What do I do with the extra seedlings? Idk, please don't ask me.😂😂
If you’re careful, you can try transplanting them in random empty spaces throughout the garden
Hey, I purchased the THE HOMESTEADER bundle from @BootstrapFarmer. Wanted to come check out your channel. Looking forward to more! 👍🏽👍🏽
Awesome! Thank you! Welcome to our journey
Thanks Jill those are really helpful tips👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. Beautiful great quality pots just makes gardening more enjoyable. First to have pots that actually do their job and last from season to season and second it’s just more fun to have the cheerful colors that you love.😁
Thank you! 😊 I’m excited to use brighter colored 4’ pots this spring because the black pots hide the big spiders and a snake in the greenhouse this year. I’m giving away plants grown in darker containers so my greenhouse will make me happier!
😊 Wish the containers were silicone. Ive decapitated so many plants cuz they didnt come out smoothly even when they were just watered, squeezing the sides.
The 6 pk container has large holes in the bottom to push the start out from the bottom
I love the colors of the pots! Cant wait to purchase some!
Glad you like them!
Your seedlings look so healthy. I’m curious how old they are. I use Bacto soil to start mine but they never seem that healthy. 🤷🏼♀️
Time to drop some money 😂 they look great! Can’t wait to get mine
Happy for you both. How can you tell when you cabbage needs a big pot when growing indoors?
Just start it in a pot that’s at least 8-10” deep
Great tips! I never heard of the "cutting" method. Will be doing, for sure! QUESTION!! We are in Memphis and mosquitoes are HORRIBLE!! I tried almost everything and they win when I am in the garden. Does anyone out there have a SURE method to not get eaten alive?? Thank you!!
I wish I had an answer for you. I normally put on long pants and spray a peppermint oil mixture on my arms and neck. In a 8 oz bottle, I use 6 drops of peppermint oil in a cup of water
@@WhisperingWillowFarm thank you for getting back to me. I put a "concoction" together yesterday, before I went out. At one point I counted about 10 on one area of my leg!🤣
Oh no
Anyone else feel bad doing this to the plants 😂😢
😂😂 I was nervous when I first started doing this
