Just got my One delivered to me last Friday. The car is a blast to drive, is very comfortable to drive and sit in. I’m 6’1 and when I sat in the backseat behind where I have the front seat set for me I found the backseat has adequate room. The surround sound while watching movies is amazing. It will make charging during inclement weather an enjoyable experience. The fit and finish is excellent. No large gaps, everything seems solidly put together. My challenges right now is just figuring out the software and various different settings that are offered by the car. I am a tech dinosaur but learning how to use this software will hopefully bring me out of the ice age 😀. So far initial thoughts of this car are positive.
Hey there! Congratulations on your new Fisker Ocean Car! 🎉 It's fantastic to hear that you're loving the drive and the comfort it offers, especially with your height. The fact that they've paid attention to details like surround sound for movie-watching really speaks volumes. And don't worry about feeling like a "tech dinosaur"; modern cars can indeed feel like spaceships with all their features and settings. 😂 Take your time with it, and I'm sure you'll master the software soon enough. Here's to many happy drives in your new car!
Are you in the the US?
Yes
Yes
I think you should record a short video about this comment you made with your car and paste in the link to that video here. That will be exciting to watch.
Thanks!
Welcome!
The only disagreement I have to the video is there is actually way more rear legroom and space than I expected. I had a 6'3" with me and he fit very comfortably.
It's great to hear first-hand experiences like yours, especially when they defy expectations! It sounds like the Fisker Ocean does a good job in terms of providing ample rear legroom, even for taller passengers. It's always helpful for viewers to get a real-world perspective on space and comfort. Thanks for sharing your experience! Have you noticed any other features or aspects of the vehicle that stood out to you or were different from what you initially expected?
I got after watching your video thank you new tech evolve
Congratulations on your New Car
Yes
Welcome
I find it almost humurous that when you spoke of limited rear-seat leg room you choose a video clip of a man over 2-meters (6'8") sitting in the back seat. Less than two percent of the population are two meters or more in height. The rear seating is very spacious for people under 5'11", even when the front seats are set fully back. I am 2-meters tall and my friend is 1.78 meters and fits with more than four inches of room between their knees and the back of the driver seat.
@markread2432 It's great that you've brought a touch of humor to the conversation about car space! Using an exceptionally tall individual to illustrate the legroom might not reflect the experience of the majority, but it does make for a memorable visual. It's reassuring to hear that there's ample space for those under 5'11" - this kind of real-world insight is super valuable for anyone considering the car. Thanks for sharing your experience; it definitely adds perspective for potential buyers. Drive safe and comfortably! 😄
Have had my FO1 for about a week. Tonight parked it in the driveway, went to walk the dog, came back and the front and tail lights were on. Looked in and the screen stated a software download was in process for another 30 minutes. This has never happened with my Teslas or Rivian that a software download would take place without my initiating it. VERY BAD FORM, Fisker. Went back out and the front lights were out, screen was black and the tail lights were on. Opened the door and put my foot on the brake pedal, no start up occurred. Called Fisker. Was told a jump was needed. Great it's night time and the car is up against my hedge. Arranged for a jump in the morning.
I am concerned that this is a safety issue. Fisker needs to understand being stranded at night is not in anyone's best interest.
@karensternal6994 I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the FO1; it certainly sounds frustrating and concerning. Unexpected software updates and the resulting issues can be quite inconvenient, especially without prior notification. Safety is paramount, and being potentially stranded is not a situation any car owner should have to face. It’s good that you've arranged for a jump start, but this experience definitely highlights an area for Fisker to improve in terms of communication and system management. Sharing this feedback with them, as you have done, is important. They need to be aware of such incidents to prevent future occurrences and ensure customer safety and satisfaction.
Fisker has teamed up with Firestone for service.
That's a significant move by Fisker, partnering with Firestone for servicing. This collaboration could really help in addressing some of the concerns around the maintenance and service accessibility for their EVs. It shows they're thinking about the complete ownership experience. What are your thoughts on how this partnership might impact the EV market or customer confidence in EV servicing?
Brilliant idea!!!@@newtechevolve
Thank you! I'm glad you think so. @chuckbrown8344
PAY ATTENTION NOW --- YOU'VE BEING LIED TO ALL THE TIME:
A new study found that fueling electric vehicles costs roughly $17 per gallon.
In its paper "Overcharged Expectations: Unmasking the True Costs of Electric Vehicles," the Texas Public Policy Foundation stipulated that the hidden costs of fueling EVs drastically outweigh its low upfront fueling costs. The hidden costs come from an increased burden on the energy grid exerted by charging stations, and an enormous amount of federal subsidies.
I appreciate you bringing this study to light. It's crucial to consider all the costs associated with EVs.
While an interesting vehicle, it is a no buy for one simple reason. Like the first Fisker company it’s sales are inadequate to support long term financial success. When a corporation is under capitalized the results are always the same.
Your clearly one jealous telsa customer. All their vehicles look amazing unlike Tesla ! Another thing is magma own 11% of the company so that's why the quality is spot on and not parts falling off it like a Tesla.
Thank you for sharing your perspective! It's essential to consider a company's financial foundation when evaluating their long-term viability. While past performance can sometimes indicate future results, the tech and automotive industries can be quite dynamic.
Thanks for sharing your opinion! Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to car aesthetics and brand loyalties. It's interesting to see how passionate fans are about their chosen brands. Magma's involvement certainly adds an intriguing layer to the conversation.
@@newtechevolve l like Fiskers approach to things ! I call them the Apple of EVs and here is why. Unlike the rest the EV market who build at a huge cost premises fisker contract the work out like apple so no employees no big costs.
Magnar have a stake so the quality build will be to a very high standard. I like the new products but wish Henrik would drop the Ronin. To many companies focusing on high end instead of what people want. Leave that to lucid another stock I have.
Especially if they are only going to build 999 seems a waste of time and money more like an ego thing to say see told you I can build one.
Your comparison of Fisker to Apple in terms of business strategy is quite insightful. Fisker's approach to outsourcing manufacturing, similar to how Apple outsources production while focusing on design and innovation, does set them apart in the EV space. This model can lead to significant savings in infrastructure and operational costs, potentially allowing for more investment in technology and design innovation.
The partnership with Magna, known for quality manufacturing, further adds to the appeal, potentially ensuring a high-quality build for Fisker's vehicles. Your observation about the market's tendency to focus on high-end models like the Fisker Ronin is spot-on. There seems to be a trend where many EV manufacturers are prioritizing luxury or performance models. While these can showcase the brand's capabilities and innovation, they often don't address the broader market's needs or affordability concerns.
Your point about focusing on what people want, emphasizing practicality and affordability over high-end niche models, is essential. There's definitely a larger market needing to be catered to, seeking reliable, affordable, and sustainable transportation options.
As for the Ronin and similar projects, they can sometimes be more about brand positioning and demonstrating technical prowess than addressing market needs. These projects can drive innovation but might not align with broader consumer demands. It's a delicate balance for companies to strike between pushing the envelope in design and technology and producing vehicles that meet mass-market needs.
Your investments and insights into these companies suggest you've got a keen eye on the industry's evolution. How do you foresee the EV market changing in the next few years, especially in terms of consumer preferences and technology trends?
I said this to all of my families and relatives as well many associate across many levels.
EV vehicles are a new century of scam.
Servicing EV vehicles just not anyone could do, due to lack of knowledge how reliable battery, how rebuilt battery, as well all operating systems are digitally integrated mostly which eliminates local auto mechanic technicians putting a dent when required repair and replace needed.
The charger stations? The hardship of environments, etc. Lastly, what’s the cost for repair and replacing battery nor the dual motors?
For combustion engines- many could rebuilt the engine and transmission over night without resetting digital memory chips.
You've raised some important points about the transition to EVs. It's true that servicing EVs, especially dealing with the battery systems and digital integration, requires different skills and knowledge compared to traditional combustion engines. This change can definitely challenge local mechanics and the existing automotive repair infrastructure.
The availability and reliability of charging stations, along with the environmental impact and the costs of major repairs like battery or motor replacements, are also key considerations. These factors contribute to the ongoing debate about the practicality and sustainability of EVs.
With technology advancing, how do you see the future of EVs evolving? Do you think these challenges will be overcome with time and innovation?
Just another overpriced ev SUV not what the majority of people want.
I hear you, finding the right balance between price, features, and what people actually want in an EV can be a real challenge. What kind of features or price point do you think would make EV SUVs more appealing to the majority?
The sport trim is cheaper than almost all other EVs
What is so unique or unusual about this vehicle?
The Fisker Ocean has several unique and noteworthy features that set it apart:
Sustainability Focus: One of the biggest highlights is its eco-friendly design. The interior is crafted from recycled materials, emphasizing the company's commitment to sustainability.
Solar Roof: The Ocean offers a full-length solar roof, which can help charge the battery, extending the car's range. This integration of solar power is still quite rare in EVs.
Flexible Leasing Model: Fisker's flexible leasing approach, which eschews traditional fixed-term leases, is quite innovative in the automotive industry.
Digital Experience: The vehicle boasts a high-tech, user-friendly interior, with a large central touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster, designed to enhance the driving experience.
Performance and Range: Fisker promises competitive electric range and performance figures, aiming to match or exceed other players in the EV market.
These aspects, along with Fisker's distinctive design language, contribute to making the Ocean an interesting entry in the growing field of electric SUVs. What's your take on these features?
