I came for the Hiroyuki Suzuki bind as well (once I figured out that's what the name of it was). Thanks for the video, good tutorial, I'm new at this, I've got 3 months under my belt, so if any of you are like me, just hang in there and you will eventually get a good clean bind rather than getting a bunch of knots or a long tail. It took me several frustrating attempts, took me two nights of hardcore practice and even getting a semi black eye from the yoyo coming back up after a hard throw and cracking me in my eye socket. I'm finally getting it though. I highly suggest not throwing too hard while your learning this bind.
Hiroyuki suzuki bind took me 3 days (I ve learned it today) and i even started to think that i will never get it becouse of ONE mistake i understod i was doing today
oh my god thanks for the video. was struggling hard with skybind but never realized hiroyuki bind existed and I can just do that and achieve that same cool upward bind effect!
I watched a couple of your shorts and then decided to watch this, despite not having any type of yoyo. And wow is there so much terminology I don't understand. It's like a biology lesson, but fun
When all other tutorials fail, yours save the day. I deserve the black eye I just got for attempting the Hiroyuki bind without watching your tutorial first. Lesson learned. Watch Vu first...
I love how the Hiroyuki Suzuki bind looks and feels, but I also end up with a lot of bad binds with super long tails, or even worse, said tail can sometimes twist around the throwhand string which makes the yoyo bind too tight as if there is a knot (but not actually a knot. You can pull the tail portion and it will come undone). Any tips on preventing the tail from forming?
No tips, but I have this exact same issues. If I do this bind and let the throw go outside my arm - no issues. But when I try to keep it inside my arm I get the same issues you’re outlining.
I don't know if still in need, but I had the same issue. What fixed the 'tail' was more or less 3 things (at least for me): 1. Throw hard. Don't be afraid to hit your face, you will eventually in the process. But give it a nice pop up. 2. Overthrow. Feeling wise the bind works better for me, if I let it go a flinch after I feel I need to let it go (this shortens out the loop). 3. In 5/7 attempts, this works better if the throw is nearing its end and the spin is fading. Hope this helps!
make the loop of the bind smaller (not too big or not too small), adjust it regularly until you find the “goldilocks loop”. Mostly, practice every day!
One question: How do you practice a clean bind? Every time after a bind, I front throw it to make sure it’s not stuck. I hit my face once after a bind and a breakaway right after. It hurts like hell!
Make sure you aren't feeding too much string into the bind. It sounds like you have a very aggressive response system so perhaps when you get pads, you may want to try a little slicker pads. For the time being though, make sure that you feed less string into the bind. 😀
TekCheetah Battlefront What do you mean slicker pads? Sounds like my yoyo pad is wrong. I can’t get it to bind when I feed it less strings. It’s like hit or miss with binding for me.
HAHA I'm sorry to hear that, sounds like a snag. Snags happen, one thing I find is to try not to make the loops you bind with too big. It's a balancing game, try to make sure the loops you send down into the gap of the yoyo are reasonable. Other than that it's just integrating slow throws when you first pick up a yoyo.
After a lot of practice you'll slowly be able to tell just from the way the yoyo started winding up during the bind whether or not there's a knot or a snag. Also, learning to throw softer (you don't need ALL that power to do your tricks) will let you redirect the yoyo away from yourself if you feel it start coming back before reaching the end of the string! Both these things come from time but you'll get there eventually!
Been watching you for a good while, and always enjoy your content (Even though the no drama talking while doing insane combos intimidate me as a beginner). Any chance you can do a video on top tricks and moves to learn going forward as beginner once you learnt the standard bind? Currently just lost attempting things I see but failing endlessly without a clearer path of tricks that build onto others
@@Sandypantzzz there is a such thing as a "safety throw" and what i can also tell you, after a bind sometimes it may feel stuck like its tangeled but giving a few quick safety throws will clear it out. thats normal and you just get a feel for when things require a safety throw so you don't throw it and have it shoot back at you. you learn it, can't really be taught, but most likely you are binding when your string tension is out of whack since you might not have learned to adjust string tension yet.
Hey Brandon! I am a really big fan of this "like a pro" series of yours. I don' know if you take suggestions but if you do I got a one. How to deal with string tension on a freestyle or on stage. Good question, the reason I’m able to pull it up is I tug the Yoyo before the string fully unwinds. Watch how short that string looks, it didn’t fully get to the bottom and started spinning. So I did a half pull, and tuged it back up before it fully hit the bottom of the string.
