When my dad first introduced to this album I'd listen to it almost daily for years, have many fond memories of trying to imitate EVH and his guitar tone on amplitude fore HOURS. You absolutely nailed this solo, props!
Great!!! That might be the prettiest evh Frankie neck I've ever seen. Looks darker than a maple neck. Probably the lighting of the video. Great cover my friend 🤘😎👍🏁
Very nicely played and you nailed the tone too! Great job. Eddies’ riffs are so fun to play. I never get bored watching other’s having fun playing them or me trying to.
Hate me for this comment…but I like this version better. Eddie just goes way over the top. I mean yea, cmon, it’s Eddie - he’s a god. But this version makes me think more of ice cream than the original. Very chill and smooth
Excellent, except the camera mount made for a shaky view. Great technique though. Would love to see more, but with a kent carlevi-like steady cam setup.
Actually I am. Behind me is a Peavey 6534 head and a Marshall JVM 410 Head sitting on top of that. I'm playing through the Marshall into a mic'd Marshall cab right next to it. The Peavey is off. Came out very clean surprisingly.
Thank you very much!! I was on OD1, Master 2.5, Volume 8, Bass 6, Mid 5, Treble 6, Gain 7. And also Reverb was at 6. Of course once the solo kicked in I turned on my MXR EVH Phase pedal. Good luck! These Marshall's are great sounding amps and extremely versatile!
Upon reviewing this, I noticed my Peavey 6534+ is what's seen in the background. That's not the amp I'm playing through. I'm playing through a Marshall JVM410H Head and Marshall cab.
Favourite EVH solo, it just blends so well with the drums
Both the brothers were insanely good musicians, Alex deserves more recognition
@@ManiacalReflection Exactly, he has one of the most recognisable drum styles along with Vinny Appice.
@@jackalope1105
Buddy Rich is one.
Amazing!!! You not only nailed the notes but also the swing/feel. Totally crushed it. (15 people are completely deaf or jealous)
Before the solo started I was ready to call this the easiest Van Halen song to play.
That sir would be ain't talkin bout love
@@Prof_Unknown or like you really got me or running with the devil
@@nocofishing351 You really got me is actually the easiest one, I stand corrected. Running with the devil might be a little hard because of the solo.
@@Prof_Unknown the solo is hard, but running with the devil doesnt have a speedy solo like yrgm so i guess its easier
the solo and outro solo on you really got me is what makes it harder in my opinion.
That was fucking insanely good. Tone and dynamics were spot on. Looks like a found a new fellow geetar player to follow!
Thank you very much!
Spot on!

Great!!! That might be the prettiest evh Frankie neck I've ever seen. Looks darker than a maple neck. Probably the lighting of the video. Great cover my friend 🤘😎👍🏁
Thank you very much! I'm not sure of the process they use to age these necks but it does feel worn and plays like butter. I love it!
GREAT !
Roth had a great voice. And a great scream !
Very nicely played and you nailed the tone too! Great job. Eddies’ riffs are so fun to play. I never get bored watching other’s having fun playing them or me trying to.
@@trueconservative2886 thank you! And I couldn't agree more about Eddie's riffs!
Only one besides ed ive seen do it better than me! hats off maestro.
Thank you!
Brilliant!

You Sir, are one heck of a Technician.
Thank you very much!
You rock. I've been listening to this since the 80's lol.
Very good
Esecuzione spettacolo bravissimo 💯, Eddie con semplicità, passatemi questo termine, faceva assoli spettacolari ed unici, una tecnica unica.
Excellent performance man! You should be proud 👍
Daaammmnnn bra
NOICE!
Brilliant !!! 100 percent perfect !!
Nailed it to the wall!!!
This is KILLER! Both the playing and the tone are spot on! Great job!
Thanks for keeping EVH and the Frankenstrat alive
Great job with the use of a great axe playing a great song!
That’s awesome dude, very nice 👍
Nailed it!!
Bro that tone is ridiculous, and so is the playing, congrats!!!!
Tone, feel, and playing were great.
Awesome tone and tight playing;)

We got ourselves a regular Eddie Vanhalen here guys!🙂👌
Great job !!
Fuck man....that was awesome!
Thank you!
Outstanding!
Great job, Tim!
Killin It Tim! Nice
This is the guitar solo that made me want to pick up the guitar. It’s one of his best. Not an easy cover. Respect
Agree, one of his best. The combination of blues, swing and shred. Unbelievable!
Beautifully done.
Excellent, except the camera mount made for a shaky view. Great technique though. Would love to see more, but with a kent carlevi-like steady cam setup.
Great job !! well done , the tone is great too.
Thank you!
Agreed!
dope rendition man.. great tone and intent.
Nice!
fantastic Job !!
Nailed it Sir 🤘
Ay you removed the strap locks and put eye hooks I need to do that
Awesome cover !!!
Great job. Love that guitar. 🎸
I have the same guitar. Still waiting for my case since July
Awesome man! 🤟🤟🤟
Loved the playing but the camera shake was too much to watch. I let it play on another tab, good job!
The Blues served-up EVH style...
Great job 👏
lil bowl-o-indica, earbuds and your video. nice!
solo start at 0:38
The 12 people who dislike this think ‘Wonderwall’ is the greatest song ever. 🤣
😂😂😂
They are probably the ones “wandering” around in the psych ward “walls”
🤣🤣🤣
Holy shit I just cam from ur eruption video and this is actually perfect damn I’ve been trying to get this one down for ages and u got it perfect
Thank you!
Killed it! That stretch is painful to play
Fantastic playing my friend!! =\//-/=🤟💯🎸
Great tone.
Nicely done 🤟🏻
Great job dude and great sound too

Nice job
Sweeeeetttt....
That was a freaking SOLID solo cover! The tone is perfect! Well done
Good job

Beautiful playing man. Eddie would be proud

Oh and surprise! You own an Eddie Van Halen guitar copy!
Do you also own a pair of jumpers from the first tour?
The first Tim Hawkins vid the didn't make me laugh. Well done !!
Im gonna guess and say you are not using that amp behind you? whats your rig for this song?
Actually I am. Behind me is a Peavey 6534 head and a Marshall JVM 410 Head sitting on top of that. I'm playing through the Marshall into a mic'd Marshall cab right next to it. The Peavey is off. Came out very clean surprisingly.
Needless Hate!! Well done, Tim.
Wow there's a name I haven't heard in a long time! Lol! Faithful Whitness!!
How do people figure this out like duuude ?!
Are you using a phaser on this ?
Yes. The MXR EVH Phase 90.
Very well played.
Great job!! That’s one of Van Halen’s coolest solos in my opinion. How long did it take you to be able to play that?
Thanks! I totally agree, a very iconic solo! It took me 2 weekends to get it down.
Hi may I ask what settings you are using on your amp I have the exact same one and I really enjoy your tone

@@timhawkins2859 thank you so much I agree , time to rock this tune
did you use an amp or a plugin?
I'm playing through a mic'd Marshall JVM 410H Head and Marshall 1960A cab. Also using an MXR EVH Phase 90 during the solo.
@@timhawkins2859 that JVM sounded great, tone was spot-on and you killed the solo ! Bravo dude, you frickin rock !
good (insert your deity here)...
Nice job man!sucks guitar backing tracks is no more.
I’m your Mickey Mouse. M I C K E Y. (Sorry I need to leave the house)
Very well done, wish you would have played the whole thing all the way to the end. Nice guitar tone too, what amp?
Thank you! Yeah I regret not including the entire ending. One day I might redo it. I was playing through a Marshall JVM 410H and Marshall cab.
@@timhawkins2859 Very good sounding modern Marshall. Most guys use way too much gain.
It's a very versatile amp. I like to keep my gain around 5.5 or 6. I like to hear each note as clear as I can.
@@timhawkins2859 Your guitar playing is really good too, that certainly helps the overall tone as well.
Yikes. Need a tripod for that camera. Way too shaky.
I don't know what you do for a living man, but you need to quit your job and start a Van Halen tribute band immediately.
I'm not gonna lie, that would be awesome! Thank you for the comment and checking out my video!
