Absolutely agree that knowledge is power. This is my first wipe, but because of the extensive resources available (such as in awesome videos like yours!), I have been able to progress quite rapidly. The most exciting part of this game is that there is always something more to learn!
The issue with me is not that I’m scared to solo, but rather I get scared when playing solo, as in every random sound that breaks up ambience always scares the shit outta me.. even after 3400+ hours playing almost exclusively solo
same lol, for some reason my brain is scared of queuing into a raid but once in the raid i’m not scared other than when the audio breaks the sound barrier
I think the thing annoys me is the audio, t's so fckd that you can't trust it. It just births doubt. At least with other people there you can put 3 minds together to work out a 💩 situation. Sound is just as important as sight, but you cannot trust the sound in this game meaning you can't trust yourself. I really hope they fix it but I have no hopes for it
A problem, that I have not found an answer to yet: In my perception, whenever you're moving in this game, your are at a disadvantage. You hear footsteps so overwhelmingly loud and can almost always pinpoint where the enemy is. But somehow when I hear enemies, the audio is fucked up so much, that for example an enemy seems to be 5m in front of me in a bush, but he is 15m farther away behind Sandbags. So whenever I'm moving, I feel like I am putting myself on the plate. Only while camping an waiting, I was able to kill a good bunch of people. What is the solution?
I feel you on this one and its something ive been strugling a good deal with myself. I used to have it like you, where I would be reluctant to sprint around. But I started to realise the upsides to doing things this way, now to sprint around every where, you have to be very aware, you should rarely hold down shift but rather do taps of sprints, always making sure to raise your gun and point it at where ever you could be expecting opponents. What i realised is that if i do this, whenever i get heard, ill usually hear the enemy soon after, and if you avoid sprinting into stupid positions, you should be able to work off the info you gather from here and either engage or fall back. Of course youll end up dying to some lame angles every now and again, but everyone does, even the people sneaking around every where.
@@Lejs Many thanks for your response. In the meantime, I've also died so many times, although I moved cautiously and creepingly, even crawling, that I now think: I'd rather walk and run normally and risk dying than crawl from bush to bush for 20 minutes and over and over again It takes 5 minutes to listen only to die too, but wasted those 20+ minutes of life.
Nice video man, first wipe almost completed only played for 3 months of it total and I got to level 27. I play duo or solo mainly but one thing j struggle with is I usually don’t get to practice pvp. Most the time there’s a pmc I’m already head eyes or there’s 5 chads rolling me before I blink. Any advice?
Thank bro. Tarkov does have a steep learning curve, so it will take a while no matter what. I can recommend some factory runs with shotguns or pistols to get some PVP practice. As for dying quickly, try to utilize cover as best you can, move from cover to cover if possible, this can maybe even allow you to fall back and reposition if you come up against a 5 man, but its hard out there. GL!
So my issue with playing solo lately has not been gear fear, my stash is stuffed full of loot and i regularly delete things to make room for better things. I think the fear of losing a fight is whats getting me. Not sure why either, as i take Ls in real life fine. Like with work related stuff or family stuff. Its weird. Most of my deaths recently have been 1 tap head shots. I never get a chance to reposition or anything because im running full sprint and get head tapped. I dont get why im constantly running into mega chads and not the dudes i see in videos or my duo partners. Also, last time i played solo i couldnt loot my kills because i was real hurt and could hear player scavs. What would be a better way to go about getting the loot? Running away, healing up and coming back? Or just risking it all since their gear is probably bad?
Hey man. If you're hurt after a fight, I would always back off and Heal before looting. It can be brutal to get your loot as a solo though, so if you feel its a risk I wouldn't go for it at all. But it depends on how much risk you are willing to take, after playing a lot I often find myself saying "if I die, I die" when pulling a questionable move, its a good mentality in general for tarkov I think. In terms of always getting one tapped, that's either very unlucky, or you are running in too straight lines, not sprinting from cover to cover or walking in the open. Worth thinking about.
@@dardeb15 there is a cheese in windows settings with display colour that makes it a lot easier to see without a flashlight or nightvision. I know it is scummy, so take it or leave it 😄
im not scared to solo, im scared of half the lobby walling. i dont mind being out played or if i just bad. its people gaining an unnatural advantage they shouldnt have.
Really awesome video man! Just out of curiosity, do you use a really good PC? Your gameplay is so smooth and when you get into close-range gunfights there's never any harsh drops in FPS, which is a massive issue that limits how I can play the game unfortunately.
Yeah its pretty powerful, I experienced a huge improvement when I got a new PC last year. On my old PC I was also forced into a slower playstyle, shame it has to be so intense on the hardware still.
@@Lejs Heres to hoping their transition into Unity 2021 helps a lot with performance, like they say it has. (Over 60 PMCs in one map and said it ran smooth... ya.. ill believe when WE see it)
Scared NAH, just sick of poor optimization, broken audio, cheaters every where and p2w early wipe ( standard account should be the ONLY account)! Once these things get better then I'll come back along with my mates too but I doubt it'll improve much in the coming years just look at streets, what a joke of a release that map is!
Solo is the only way for us nowadays. Playing in a group is so easy and boring that it feels like cheating. You hide your buddies gear and trade it back....its usually just roflstomping the map. Barely any risk involved. Wish they had more challenging gameplay for groups or group only servers. As its right now its basically only for people that want to cheese the game.
True to some extent I would say, running with experienced teammates can be a lot of fun, but it is roflstomping like you say. Most of the time.. I have been in some awesome team fights as well. Besides that, playing in a group can be great for new players who might just quit otherwise :p
@@Lejs Yeah true you are right here...there are definitely reasons and helping new players is obviously one of them. Just saying for us as an more experienced group of old farts it got a bit boring. We would wish for more of a challenge somehow thought its probably hard to balance without splitting the playerbase to much.
What do you think is the most important aspect of playing solo in Tarkov?
to not forget that there are always more enemys than u think lmao

When playing solo you have to make every engagement a 1v1.

“Scared to solo watch this”
*reminds me exactly why I’m scared to play solo*
That 3 piece revolver headshot spree at the beginning looked like a cut John wick scene
i love this game but it is so hard not to go against either a level 70 gigachad streamer every fight or get 1 tapped by a cheater
thanks for showing the gun builds, gives me an idea of what I should use next raid 🙏

The biggest advantage to being in a squad vs playing solo is that sometimes the bush one taps your friend instead of you.
