That flower story is so hilarious. It reminds me when I was in HS and I was trying to get back with my ex and I got her a stuffed animal for her birthday. And when I gave it to her she was absolutely disgusted, and she told me “ugh, now I have to carry this around all day.” It hurt like shit when I was younger, but it’s such a funny story years later.

This is actually really common for close friends or two people who are very energetic - it’s mutual enthusiasm, they aren’t bothering or being rude to each other but an outsider might not get that kind of dynamic. I had a good friend in high school and whenever it was us two we talked to each other just like that, it was chaotic but we really enjoyed it.
