This is a brilliant idea from Universal, because it ensures crowd control. Which ensures every guest visiting Epic will have a good first experience on the day that they go.
If Disney did this, the internet haters would call it a "cash grab". This has nothing to do with benefiting the consumer. It has to do with steering business to Comcast's original (and aging) Orlando parks.
@@timothybernardi68 Yup that's exactly true. People would not let disney get away with this. It's astounding that people would be ok with this, yet blast disney for being greedy.
Garuntee Epic Universe will be swamped for it first year. It's been decades since we've had a brand new park at this scale opening in the USA.
I think this sounds like a good plan. How else do you expect them to control the crowds. The lines are going to be crazy for the next couple of years. I feel like they are about to drop a very expensive pass for the locals to get in to that park. There is just no way the current passes are going to work. I am a local and I never go to Universal, so buying the three day tickets and staying at one of their resorts would work for me.
You can sell single day tickets and limit the amount of tickets sold for a given day. It's not that hard. They can also play around with the numbers in the first month to get an estimate for capacity.
This is crazy, yeah there’s no way epic universe can be done in one day, I get they want to give as many people the opportunity to experience the new park but should be 2 days. And what about the people staying at that main hotel connected to the park? You can stay there but only visit once?!? that’s wild, thank you for sharing this news with all of us mondo I look forward to hearing more details the closer it gets to opening.
I bet it’s different for hotel guests if it’s open, just a guess. Idk for sure.
Looks like Epic Universe will take two days just to enjoy the whole park
This is a very reasonable crowd control measure. Props to Universal. I hope it also opens without any paid queue gimmicks.
I think it makes sense from the parks perspective. They don't want to full blown open the doors right away and have the crowds just rush it daily. This ensures crowd control and easing into full open. You can probably do a lot with lower crowds than the other option of having full wide open with large crowds.
If that's the case then I hope they eventually drop that tactic and allow many days at Epic Universe sooner or later once the crowds are more controlled because having that be the norm there isn't a good way to bring in profits and crowds in the long run. It's bad enough seeing Disney make similar stupid moves at their American parks I don't want to see Universal go down that path.
there is no way you can do all the rides at epic in one day.
@@RM-jo8gyyeah for people who are local but not people visiting outside of Florida 🥺
Yeah people will need to go for at least two days just to enjoy the whole park 😂
@@maui3551 more like 3 days
What Universal is saying with this is that if you want to visit Epic Universe more than once you need a 5 day park ticket or higher 😂
I can probably see this happening but I'm going to need confirmation by locals who know more. I really can't trust rumors anymore unless it's from permits, or the almighty Theme Park Stop UA-cam channel. I really hope this isn't the case though, I wouldn't trust this article Mondo, unless it spreads across the internet and gets a lot of support.
I hope it’s not true! I would totally do a 5 day trip of just epic universe
Just wait to see if Universal themselves makes this official or not
People give me a lot of crap because I'm so against Orlando but it's because of shit like this. I can't stand the way they run their parks, in almost every way. Example: HHN Orlando. You wanna buy an express pass, you also have to buy a separate ticket to the event on top of that. They rely on the people wanting this so bad, like Mando said, "This is a dream come true. I just wanna be there no matter what, I just wanna be a part of this." Then they pull this shit. That's why Orlando will never get a minute of my time or a dollar of my money.
Ha sureeeeeeeee😂 you ain't fooling anyone
It says, “at first”. It’s not forever like Disneyland’s reservation system
@@hrock8081 truest comment I seen
This feels like reality just hit us hard, Epic Universe too good to be true, the park itself will be mind blowing but what's the point if we can't explore it all
ua-cam.com/video/bEJWL49D30A/v-deo.htmlsi=3VMxQulqN8Y5ztoG
So if the required three park pass costs $300, that will mean a family of four will spend $1200 (plus parking) to see Epic Universe. Wow!
That’s amazing news basically shut down all the influencers from packing the park for no reason
I think one day should be fine to do everything. It’s only 4 lands and like 10 rides, and this strategy is to lower the attendance at epic so the lines shouldn’t be too crazy. What really sucks about this is for people that one have a couple of vacation days that don’t what to spend most of their vacation at universal and want to visit Disney and other parts of Orlando
One day at Epic will not be enough because lines for the top attractions will be 2 to 3 hours long. Especially if they don't offer express pass. If we have to wait in those kind of lines for that amount of time we need at least 2 days. If we live out of state thats not possible.
The strategy is to force guests to go to the other two (aging) Comcast parks in Orlando.
@@batlady2 It's foolish to think the lines won't be crazy long.
That's exactly what they want, to force people to choose to drop Disney and to do their entire theme park part of their trip at Universal. A good strategy in my opinion ~
@@batlady2 Not having express lowers stand by lines and the thing is that the whole park is new so everything will be a top attraction for new guests so it will divide people throughout the park.
I guess they are trying to regulate demand initially, but this is a ham-fisted approach. I'll stay away from EU for at least a year or two after it opens. I'd like to know more about restrictions around transitioning between portals too.
I'm already an AP. I have absolutely NO USE for tickets to the parks when I already pay for an annual pass.
I doubt universal won’t have an option for pass holders, maybe they will do like Disneyland does and have pass holders get limited reservations
I absolutely get the frustration, but you can't blame Universal for this decision. Many people just downright skip Universal when visiting Orlando. And those that do go, maybe plan 1 or 2 days at their park.
Not only will this decision prevent their other Parks from being cannibalized by those that only go for one or two days, but it will also require people to dedicate more time to Universal Studios and less time at Disney World.
Look at it from this perspective. Epic universe is at least 3 times more desirable to visit than their other two parks. Therefore, they could potentially charge 3 times or more for a 1 day park ticket and people would still pay it. Basically, they're giving you two extra days at their other parks for the price of what they could charge to visit Epic Universe once.
Lastly, I haven't even mentioned Park experience. If they unleash the floodgates and have no restrictions and let everyone spend five, six or 14 days there, it would be an absolute disaster and unenjoyable for everyone.
It sucks, I get it. But, you can't fault them for trying to implement a smart business strategy that will benefit them as a company. As a consumer. I don't like it either.
Hopefully Horror Unleashed in Vegas doesn't require a 3 day pass with Hollywood lolol
Also this isn’t the official ticketing from Universal itself, the article said for third party. Because people buy the multi-tickets like at Costco or Sam’s to save money
What we got out of it is that you may be able to buy individual days, as it says Universal INTENDS TO EXPAND PRODUCT OFFERINGS TO SINGLE AND MULTI DAY TICKETS INCLUDING EPIC UNIVERSE IN A PHASED APPROACH BASED ON AVAILABILITY. The ticket package seems to be targeting those planning well in advance.
Here's the thing:
There is NO WAY that Universal will not allow passholders to buy tickets no matter what, because they wouldn't force AP's into buying tickets when they have a pass already.
This could all be soft opening stuff for sure. Hopefully, due to all the negativity and confusion glimg about, Universal will clarify this very soon.
Come on. This isn't coming from Universal. They would never call it Park hopping. That's a Disney term. Universal language has always called it Park-to-Park. This is a third party money grab.
It will only be this way for the first year to control the crowds. Epic Universe is going to be insanely pack.
I wouldn’t believe it until I see an official Universal release. I really don’t believe they’re going to go the Disney route, don’t be fooled by click bait.
Well then universal needs to get in front of this and tell people what’s happening. Otherwise the internet will control the narrative
I called Universal and asked them about this and the person I talked to said none of the employees have heard a word about this and they all want to go too so this is nothing but rumors and every one needs to just wait till Universal releases an official statement.
So you believe families staying at the new In Park Resort Hotel can only go to Epic one day of their 3 day stay. Come-on.
I am ok with it. Keeps crowd control small and i never been to orlando so i would like to visit all of universal parks.
I'm not liking the idea if it's true because it does undermine Universal's goal to have people and families have a week long stay at their parks. I mean how can one stay an entire week at all three parks if you can spend only one day at one of them? Especially when you have the most anticipated parks coming next year. It's one thing if it's only for a while during the first few days/months of Epic Universe's debut opening but to have it be there from here on out isn't a good idea in the long run.
If this is true, it's a terrible non consumer friendly practice. If disney pulled something like this, people would be getting out the pitchforks.
If they don't offer express pass in Epic there is no way we can do all the best attractions in one day. I've got reservations at Terra Luna for second week of Oct 2025 for 5 days and flying in from Cali. I'll cancel them before I'll pay for multi day passes that only gives me one day to epic. I wanted 2 days in epic 2 days in IOA and one day at US. This vacation is supposed to be for me and my daughter and 2 grand sons.
They need to just limit how many tickets they sell so theres not a packed park and 4 hour queues
I hope this is not true because I was planning on doing epic universe for two days. One day in epic universe is not enough imo. Honestly I would rather universal just implement a temporary reservation system to help control the crowds when the park first opens.
I really don’t see anything wrong with a reservation system for a new park. They could just sell dated based tickets with a limited amount for a given date. Can’t be that hard to do
its a way to revisit and crowd control
imagine the lines and crowds if all are epic. but does suck
Im gonna be one of those ppl that will wait it out a little longer... 1 day at epic is fine but i do not need to do 2 days at the other parks. 1 rather do 2 days at epic and then the rest of my trip at WDW.
This is exactly what happens to island of adventure when they open the Harry Potter land. It’s brilliant because it limits capacity and makes for a more enjoyable visit for those who can pay to get early access. This is just what is done to limit capacity, I think you need to learn from the past instead of having massive lines like they did I believe with other theme park openings.
I never stay at the park for a full day. I’m not a spring chicken anymore so this is really bad news for me. I’m sad. I hope they adjust it. I’m really looking forward to going there. but they pull this crazy stuff. I’ll have to rethink. I really wanna go. I need some steak on a stake😅
I think a better strategy is 1:1 strategy. Buy two days get one Epic. Buy 4 days get two Epic. More of annoyance, but understandable. The proposed 3 day ticket to get one day seems too harsh. I think 1:1 would get more like 80% okay with it (not the 50% I see reading the comments)
They obviously want everyone to go to the others too or they’ll be empty
Fleecing folks for a 3-day park pass is not "reasonable" imho.
I will be waiting for single day tickets my job won’t allow me to do 3 day tickets I can do 2 day but that’s about it
Universal wants families in there first. A 3 day commitment guarantees the deeper pockets initially. They are fading content creators and locals to start. This is fine as I was doing 3 days anyhow. Although I wanted the option to hop in on my studios and island days so they definitely know people have plans to swarm the park. It will be critical to MAXIMIZE your Epic day so creators gear up for the ultimate all in one day content.
I would buy a three day ticket and go on Hagrids 😂finally a smaller line!
Joking I would wait for single day park ticketed ❤crazy but I get it.
They do that so all the people want be at epic universe
What About Annual Pass
👍👍👍
I’m thinking this is info for Costco like tickets dude
Seems like a cash grab and they want to limit influencers
Omg not you too Mondo believing these fake news🤦🏽♂️
Attraction magazine is pretty credible 🤷🏻♂️
@@FIVEFIRES and I work for the company and I say wait til universal release information on Epic
@@FIVEFIRES all I can say is they will be doing something to make sure all their guests have a great experience. Because when islands of adventure opened in a 90s, it was chaos and I don’t want that to happen with epic
It's not fake news, I know travel agents who have gotten this info from Universal. It just hasn't been made public yet.
💜💜💜
I am not a fan of this ticket deal so far.
There nothing wrong with this, and besides this is not official, its just claims and rumors. So we'll see.
And I thought Disney’s reservation system was bad.
This is such a shit show going to happen most people in Florida have ap holders
