I remember this game, thanks for the upload. Chance deserved more than a backup role but we'll forever remember him for the 2 minutes he played in this game.
I was at this game and remember it. It was pretty much the last game that Vince didn't get to bring the team back. The Daily Texan headline on Monday for the game was "Mock and Roll".
I was there! It was my first football game to watch in action! I was at the Texas tech side and I said hook em horns and everyone looked at me like they were mad
Why I as a Longhorn miss Leach so much. He didn't give a damn what the odds were, he would never let his team get wiped off the field by the Horns, even in years when Texas had not just better talent, but far superior. Tech really had something with Leach, and they freaking brought it every time they played the Horns. It's a shame that some little punk like Adam James had to derail it all
At the 1:16:16 mark the broadcasters talked about the bowl breakdown for the Big XII. Which had me thinking why did Texas play in the Holiday Bowl instead of the Cotton Bowl? Oklahoma played in the (Sugar Bowl) nat'l title game against LSU which USC should've played against seeing the fact OU didn't win their conference title, K-State played in the Fiesta Bowl against Ohio St. & Oklahoma St. played in the Cotton Bowl against Ole Miss. Didn't Texas beat Oklahoma St.? Didn't Texas have a better overall & conference record than Oklahoma St.? So Texas should've played Eli & Ole Miss in the Cotton Bowl while Oklahoma St. should've played Washington St. in the Holiday Bowl
Yea, but back then the Holiday Bowl and the Cotton Bowl were kind of seen as equals, and the Holiday Bowl might have even been considered better. At least in that short period of time of 2000-2005. Also, a couple of other things: Texas had played in the Cotton Bowl the year before, so it was likely they weren't going to be interested, and also the bowl committees kind of had a little more discretion on how to pick beyond just conference standing like it is in present day. I thought it was interesting too, and Texas definitely lost to WSU that year because they didn't want to be there (not taking anything away from a good WSU team, Texas was just far better on paper)
@@richardspencer7455 Yes, the Holiday Bowl then was the #3 bowl behind the Fiesta and Cotton Bowls then for the Big 12. The 2000's were the glory days of the Big 12. So many of the teams were good and competitive during the decade with . Better across the board than the SEC today. I believe at least half of the teams were in a BCS game at some point during the decade.

Really fun game. That 2003 Texas team was absolutely brimming with talent all things aside. 🤘🤘🤘

I was at this game! Nail biter to the end! Great game! Go Horns!
I was there too. Symons was a nightmare. Couldn't stop that guy. Thank God for Roy Williams.

Dave Lapham is a blight upon humanity.
Heartbreaker for my Red Raiders. I remember think we had y'all. But a hell of a game for both teams.

@@richardspencer7455Texas obliterated four of Leach’s teams - in 2001, 2004, 2005, and 2007.
I was there too...it was a great view at the top....my cousin couldn't go and gave us the four tickets...great ending!!

2:37:50 "Chance saying right now 'You give me a *Chance* and I won't *Mock* the position.'" WORST PUN EVER!!!
I guess Toogood just wasn't good enough. 😎 \m/
Too good more like terrible at kicking field goals
You don’t become a D1 kicker by being terrible it just wasn’t his night! Great game!
Watched the game with Tech fans. They were pumped and thought their team would probably beat Texas. Hook em #5. God bless.
