- I've been building this shelter over a few months when had the spare time. All the rocks have been hand collected from the stream bed and put together without the use of any mortar. This video is a start to finish.... @mikeyjallen7348
Not only Strong but Innovative too. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The building is good but I am more impressed by the four legged supervisor...LOL
Man. I've been looking all over UA-cam for a video that offers the perfect forest shelter to build. Such beautiful work. Unrivaled!
Thank you!! Really means a lot.... I very much hope your build goes well and please do send me a photo or video when finished please

Thank you!! Having good stone makes the task a lot easier
wow, the stone work itself is simply outstanding
very good
superb, good skills to fit all the stone pieces, great
Thank you!! Ive had a lot of practise with the stone... The key is to keep them flat as possible and try to keep lines the same height,,,,
Strong back. Good eye.
An ambitious project culminating in a fantastic finish, I applaud your efforts young man, and your 4 legged help also, thank you for a great video, enjoyed watching.
Great to see the finished shelter Mikey, looks fantastic!
I tried to get up to see the castle when I was home briefly last month but I couldn't find anywhere to park in Morrisville or Wattsville! Its changed since I lived there in the 70's / 80's
Keep up the great work!
Bob...
Wow!
Very impressive!
Unique build. Excellent work.
Well done looking awesome
Beautiful
Great work amazing job
Hi Mikey, I discovered your channel little over an hour ago and have watched nothing but your content since!
I uprooted a bramble bush from my garden earlier and found that hard work enough but watching you go to work on this fantastic cabin - I can’t decide whether I’m impressed more by your fitness level or masonry work!
It’s fantastic to see a fellow Welshman creating such content also 🏴
You’ve inspired me to build myself a stone bbq now 👍🏻👍🏻
I watch a lot of these bushcraft builds. I'm actually pretty damned impressed by this.
Chào bạn rất vui được xem video của bạn

Beautiful craft out door looks heavenly
Great ❤
Stunning work!!❤
Stunning build.
One problem and its a big one. Flash flood!! Building in a low area like this is just asking for trouble. Unless this area doesnt get rain, this is a waste of time, because the first flood the slope around this will bring water rushing through there.
That was my thought.
I don't think this was built to last forever; it was built upon a fallen tree. It will get wiped out next spring during the thaw which is nature's way and a perfect example of impermanence. That creek was lined with stones from previous thaws and floods. The only problem I see is the plastic on the roof. He'll use the shelter a time or two and then move on, which is fine except for leaving that huge sheet of plastic behind. It will eventually get swept away, rot, and create microplastic particles that can take centuries to fully biodegrade. A way around using plastic liners is to do a bit of woodworking. Make planks that will act as long roof shingles. Before installation, char the planks in the fire, then use water to stop the burning. I have seen practitioners scrub them (lightly) with a wire brush after burning but it is not part of the traditional process. This wood burning technique has been used in many places in the world throughout history but it's the Japanese technique called yakisugi (also called shou sugi ban) that i find most effective and attractive. It has been used in Japan since the 1700s because it's use increases the durability of the wood and it helps to resist insects, water and rot. You could also use cloth that's been treated with paraffin instead of plastic sheeting for water resistance. A paraffin treated cloth can be used alone or in tandem with yakisugi planks.
I can tell you I know where this is and though it looks the case it won't flood so all is good 😃
So good. Love watching you work so fast...jumping over walls, running down slopes, etc. Very inspiring! And your work is so beautiful.
beautiful job great workmanship. hello from Texas
Ein klasse Shalter, viel harte Arbeit.
Really beautiful. I love the masonry. The fireplace is a work of art! Are you a stone mason by trade or by circumstance? I particularly liked when you lit the place up at night with lamps, candles & firefight. It looked like a magical cottage in a fairytale where elves, fairies & pixies would stop by for a thimble of meade or elderberry wine. I'm hooked; I subscribed &👍🏼. Blessed be! 🤗🌷🌾
Is. Ben a joy washing you work wit ston rivers and logs how you billy a home and a shineny and gardens tank you
Anyone can stack landscapers flagstone. You buy it by the pallet.
You’ve obviously done stone work before, beautiful job.
Extremely nice and stable, but on the banks of a creek? During the winter and the rain he will be facing floods
The stove is very unique 🎉❤❤❤
Nice video ♥️👍👍
你是我見過最傑出的最優秀的建築師有創意太神奇了,我就覺得奇怪這些石片不用水泥和泥巴,怎麼可能不會倒下來你的平衡力太厲害了喜歡你的作品!
👍👍👍
❤❤
Making shelter in a dry river bed seems like sound planning to me
My first thought was, Is that a dryed creek bed / river bed? Sure hope it doesn't come a hard rain.
I have so many questions. Do you work in Masonary? How did you learn this craft? What I wouldn’t give to be able to make something this amazing! I can’t wait for the next project….
Very cool! Are the rocks part of an old quarry?
Hello Tim, No, these stones are collected from a dried up stream mostly.... I picked a spot to build where there was an abundance of workable stone.... There is never enough though....
Parabéns pelo vídeo
What’s the inside look like when finished? All that work to not show inside is strange
Semangat akan membuat konten mu menjadi yang terbaik untuk kita semua. Salam kami dari Indonesia 😁
Great shelter. ❤ the dog too. Scottie or westie?
Очень близко к руслу реки. При паводке, дом смоет и очень Жаль что губит лес, пилит деревья
Why is the fire not inside the shelter? Since it's outside, wouldn't a cooking surface be better?
cool🛖
Cheers Fred

No gostei! De Brasil 🇧🇷, maior e o fogao do que a cabana? E sem um bom acabamento?
Very rustic and romantic but terribly shoddy, it will always need work to stay usable..
With the available materials you could've done a lot more..
