Kill Sven and you'll get a note from her saying she knows you did it and thanks you for it. Kill Faendal and you'll get a note from her saying she knows you did it but won't tell anyone it was you. She's interested in you the first time she sees you and that's also why she will walk you for a bit and point you towards Bleak Falls Barrows just to spend a bit of time with you. Her brother, doesn't want her leading you all the way and tells her she's only allowed to walk you to the bridge.

Like there's friends and then there's a lot of motivation besides friendship to visit your wife while you're gone, mind half way across skyrim. Honestly Riften is more corrupt than Markarth. You got: Thieves Guild (especially Mercer) Maven owning everyone(even the court) Steward sells out city to protect herself. Guard blind eye to orphanage crudeness

Wazowski's Apprentice honestly when I think of markarth if you took away the silver bloods it be fine but also markarth is tied to two different daedric quest which might give a bad impression to a lot of people. Also riften my favorite of the major holds but falkreath is my favorite out of all holds.
@@steffenhayes1967 Well I think you could argue the opposite, the Reach is far more dangerous and messy, it has been dealing with a full-scale insurrection for years with the Forsworn and people being murdered in the streets. The Silver-Bloods are the most powerful family but with a few choices you can free the Foresworn king and let blood run in the streets even more. Whereas the Rift is pretty safe (by Skyrim standards anyway) and the Blackbriars have everything locked down tight. Riften is tightly under her control, and safer (as long as you stay out of her way). So the corruption is more stable.

I've done that. Honestly, it's not necessarily a bad idea to have someone guarding your wife who has his own feelings for her while you're away. At least you know he won't let anything harm her.

I remember on my first Skyrim playthrough I made Camelia my wife and brought her to Whiterun. While I was returning to the house to drop off some loot, I was surprised Faendal just went out of the house. I thought this was just a bug until I kept seeing him often. So I decided to follow him going back to Riverwood until no one was around and put an arrow in his head, then just dumped his body in a nearby river

Muiri did not want to kill the Shatter-Shield sister because she was mean to her; she wanted her dead because she thought Tova, the Shatter-Shield mother, would invite her back out of grief since she would have lost both her daughters. Well, Muiri is wrong; Tova kills herself instead. Muiri's response? None. There is a difference between contract killing and cold blood sociopathy. Balimund, on the other-hand, is a fine pick! One of my favorite male-spouse options in the game.

Of all the people mentioned in this post, I only agree with Serana and Aranea Ienith. I think of the time I accidentally turned a guard into a sweetroll. I can explain I was in Whiterun right by the front. I had the wabbajack. I whacked a guard with it. At first I thought I turned him into an ice puddle (you know the one you get from killing ice wraiths) but right on top of it was an entirely random sweetroll. So I think it's safe to say that I turned a guard into a sweetroll. I carried that same sweetroll with me all across Skyrim and even Sovernguard on many adventures. And at the end of it all, I ate him.
My mom for a while thought I'm playing online with a girl named Lydia and suggested I stop playing with her since she keeps blocking my way or opening doors when I'm trying to steal things.
An underrated Skyrim husband: Revyn Sadri! I love his voice actor, he’s handsome as hell, and while I was annoyed by it at first, his Hearthfire dialogue shows how worried he is over the kids’ safety, making it feel more like he sees your kids as his own.

Moving Scouts Many Marshes into Hjerim was exactly what I did after winning the Civil War for the Imperials lol. For immersion purposes, it was intended to be the first step in acceptance for the dunmer and argonians in Windhelm. In reality, I just found it hilarious and hope Ulfric is turning in his grave at the thought of a dunmer Dragonborn, her argonian hubby, and their two Nord daughters living in domestic bliss in a nice area of his former city. It also gives me a good excuse to go back to the city, and punch Rolff Stone Fist around for a bit :)
Fun fact: You can expose both men to Camilla by telling Sven or Faendel about the others intent. At which point they take the letter from you & give you a new one to deliver. However you can pickpocket the other letter back & then give both to Camilla. There's no unique dialogue & whoever you expose last will be the one you get as a follower. But realistically Camilla will know about both men's deceitful nature.

I once got an option to marry a guy, it was the male beggar in Windhelm. I liked him hes a swell guy, but I wasnt into that, no offense. I rejected him, but I still consider him a friend. I later went on to marry Ysolda in that playthrough, buy I still enjoy his company every so often.
Shahvee is my forever girl, I’ve literally married her in every playthrough, even the ones where I told myself I wouldn’t. I absolutely love her optimism.
If you do give Torbjorn’s mission, where you give him an amulet of Arkay, you can ask him to raised the Argonians wages without having to give him a bribe, convince him, or beat him in a brawl. He’ll say something like “Alright, but I’m doing this for you, not them.”

Lol, I missed Camilla’s whole quest. The moment I first stepped on Riverwood Sven gave me the quest and the fake letter. I hadn’t even met Faendal yet. I thought Sven was a dick and decided to tell Faendal if I met him. Turns out I met Camilla first, ratted out Sven and the quest was done just like that. A mind-blowing total of 40 seconds.

My problem with Muiri is that in my first playthrough (many eons ago) I married her and ALL she ever said to me after that was "Thank you for solving my... problem." Every. Single. Time. I couldnt hold conversation with her. That might've changed over the years but I'm sick of solving her.... problem.
One of my favourite things to do is role play the family stuff. Being Dragonborn is all well and good but who doesn’t want to blend in and feel part of the world instead of a glorified tourist.
Marcurio Is the absolute best husband. The way he is sassy as a companion he’s an absolutely wonderful and sweet husband. He’s good with the kids and an amazing Legendary bad ass. And he doesn’t get in your way he usually compasses you and destroys your opponents and doesn’t get in your way often. If you give him the spellbreakee shield, Diedrich and miraaks mask he is unstoppable. He is very sweet to the kids and as a husband. I wish she was real, I’d marry him in real life
I get you totally hes also one of the few human men who doesn’t look like a Mr potato head! Why is it that the women are largely beautiful and the men all ugly? Hmmmm! The one thing I don’t like about Marcurio is that he goes all slushy on you after marriage. I liked it at first because he can be pretty snippy as a follower, but after a while his constant fawning irritated me, but then, I’m not a very romantic woman I guess. I prefer deeds not words, flowers in the garden not wrapped in tissue. He is a wonderful follower though and I have him in my current playthrough.
My character met his wife in college. He completely fluked, of course. Never cast a spell in his life and couldn't tell a cantrip from a catflap if his life depended on it. I always imagine they still laugh at how silly it is that they made him archmage, and her "small business" is her running the college for him.

The second you mentioned Camilla, I was reminded of a time I was hanging out with my Sister while she was playing Skyrim. She did the Quest to get Camilla as a Marriage Candidate, decided to marry her for fun, and for some reason I accused her of just swooping in and Shitting on the dreams of the two men who were courting her already.
I usually marry Brelyna Maryon or Borgakh the Steel Heart. Because I really like shy, nerdy girls that I can just chill and read with, and buff, abrasive girls that could probably break my back.
Ah, Brelyna Maryon, my favorite Character to marry, she's great and while playing as a Magician or a Battlemage she can be my trusty companion anytime.
Does anyone else find it weird that Scouts-Many-Marshes and Ulfric Stormcloak are referenced as friends in the Creation Kit? I've tried to figure out a role as to how this makes sense but I've really got nothing.
They are listed as friends so that they can interact and aren't hostile to one another. If they were listed as enemies they would just attack each other on sight. My guess is that the character is also part of the windhelmcrimefaction which means if you attach him you'll go to windhelms prison. The guards won't attack you unless the character has a positive disposition to the guards
Maybe he's secretly being payed as a spy/informer to tell Ulfric of anything going on in the slums (like empire spies or something). Which would explain his non-disdain for Nords.
All of the spouses I’ve ever had in my playthroughs: 1st playthrough: Marcurio (One of the best! Love him! 😍🤩) 2nd Playthrough: Benor (That one was a mistake 😒) 3rd Playthrough: Vilkas (I was doing a Companions build so I chose to marry a companion and chose him 🤗) 4th Playthrough: Onmund (Did a College of Winterhold build; I like him as a follower and spouse, but I don’t think I’d marry him again. He’s a little boring) *SIDE NOTE: I kinda wish we could marry J’Zargo.* 5th Playthrough: Scouts-Many-Marshes (I really like Scouts. 10/10 would pick him again 😁👍)
I married lydia, it was love at first sight, shes real sweet when she's not your follower but man she can't sneak, and I married her cuz we're both like really boring
Out of your lists so far only one of my main choices showed up; Scout-Many-Marshes. My other male choice would be Moth gro-Bagol, I could listen to that Orc talk all day. Also if you have one of the build-you-own-homes and have children, he will sound so proud that he's rising your children, "Better than ever. Nothing like living off the land to teach you how to fight, how to survive. We'll have a little warrior on our hands in no time."
Another great spouse to find among the Windhelm argonians is Shahvee. Like Scouts-many-marshes she isn't at all hostile to the nords and somehow keeps a very cheerful disposition, saying she's learned to be grateful for what she has and is just happy despite her conditions. All in all she's just a very wholesome figure.
The trouble with Muiri's double contract is it has the mother of the now dead daughter 'self delete' due to grief of losing *both* her daughters (one to you, one to the killer of Windhelm).
Legacy of the dragonborn, find the dungeon in the reach where a ghost has a dragon prieat sealed and you have to collect urns to stop him, in the priests room you can find king orgnums coffer, every day you activate it you get gold
Kirein Hunter judging by the fact that you might be thane of multiple holds and have a constant bandit infestation that you have to sort out which would have loot in their hidings. Also the fact that things in skyrim are quite cheap, even in waring economy. I say you’ll do okay.
You should profile Shahvee in a 3rd part. Lizard wife is an amazing optimist who much like Scouts-Many-Marshes doesn't let the miserable nature of Windhelm get her down. As such I don't think she would ever complain and be great full for whatever house you bring her to.
There is a mod that allows you to do that, when you become High King you can five orders to the citizens and you can recruit the members of your court.

I always marry Moira because of how her life was and wanted her to have a better life. Though I try to marry someone else in a different playthrough, I still end up marrying her. Though I wish she stop saying "Thank for solving my....problem". Like "Babe! I know what I did, but if you don't want to be associate with double murder, don't say that out loud!"
@Jose C according to UESP net, without mods, there is only 2 apothecary spouses, muiri and the assistant at the white phial in windhelm. so one male, one female... Avrusa is marriageable and should in theory be an apothecary merchant, but it says she isn't?? not sure if the page is wrong (which is pretty rare) or for some reason she is not an apothecary once married for some reason. (sadly i find it easier to believe the game is coded wrong then that website being wrong)
Actually, you don't have to kill anyone in order to marry Muiri. If you invest in Bothela's store you'll gain her favor too (no need to kill Bothela either). There's other way too. Drop an valuable item in front of her (better do it inside The Hag's Cure). This may trigger a conversation between you and her where she asks to keep the item. If you allow her to do so, you'll raise her disposition too.

Something that really bugs me about spouse houses is that none of them ever have a double bed. Like Uthgerd's house is cozy as heck but small bed, same with Morwen.

I remember on my first Skyrim playthrough I made Camelia my wife and brought her to Whiterun. While I was returning to the house to drop off some loot, I was surprised Faendal just went out of the house. I thought this was just a bug until I kept seeing him often. So I decided to follow him going back to Riverwood until no one was around and put an arrow in his head, then just dumped his body in a nearby river
That's what I had to do to Aerin. He followed me to my falkreath home so I walked him out to the woods and drug him somewhere to reset lol

I was in Whiterun right by the front. I had the wabbajack. I whacked a guard with it. At first I thought I turned him into an ice puddle (you know the one you get from killing ice wraiths) but right on top of it was an entirely random sweetroll. So I think it's safe to say that I turned a guard into a sweetroll.
I carried that same sweetroll with me all across Skyrim and even Sovernguard on many adventures. And at the end of it all, I ate him.

Moving Scouts Many Marshes into Hjerim was exactly what I did after winning the Civil War for the Imperials lol. For immersion purposes, it was intended to be the first step in acceptance for the dunmer and argonians in Windhelm. In reality, I just found it hilarious and hope Ulfric is turning in his grave at the thought of a dunmer Dragonborn, her argonian hubby, and their two Nord daughters living in domestic bliss in a nice area of his former city. It also gives me a good excuse to go back to the city, and punch Rolff Stone Fist around for a bit :)

Fun fact: You can expose both men to Camilla by telling Sven or Faendel about the others intent. At which point they take the letter from you & give you a new one to deliver. However you can pickpocket the other letter back & then give both to Camilla. There's no unique dialogue & whoever you expose last will be the one you get as a follower. But realistically Camilla will know about both men's deceitful nature.

If you do give Torbjorn’s mission, where you give him an amulet of Arkay, you can ask him to raised the Argonians wages without having to give him a bribe, convince him, or beat him in a brawl. He’ll say something like “Alright, but I’m doing this for you, not them.”

Highly recommend the mod Relationship Dialogue Overhaul, it overhauls all NPC dialogue, it's easiest to notice with followers but also makes overhauls to spouse dialogue.

Lol, I missed Camilla’s whole quest. The moment I first stepped on Riverwood Sven gave me the quest and the fake letter. I hadn’t even met Faendal yet. I thought Sven was a dick and decided to tell Faendal if I met him. Turns out I met Camilla first, ratted out Sven and the quest was done just like that. A mind-blowing total of 40 seconds.

One of my favourite things to do is role play the family stuff. Being Dragonborn is all well and good but who doesn’t want to blend in and feel part of the world instead of a glorified tourist.
Marcurio Is the absolute best husband. The way he is sassy as a companion he’s an absolutely wonderful and sweet husband. He’s good with the kids and an amazing Legendary bad ass. And he doesn’t get in your way he usually compasses you and destroys your opponents and doesn’t get in your way often. If you give him the spellbreakee shield, Diedrich and miraaks mask he is unstoppable. He is very sweet to the kids and as a husband. I wish she was real, I’d marry him in real life

The one thing I don’t like about Marcurio is that he goes all slushy on you after marriage. I liked it at first because he can be pretty snippy as a follower, but after a while his constant fawning irritated me, but then, I’m not a very romantic woman I guess. I prefer deeds not words, flowers in the garden not wrapped in tissue. He is a wonderful follower though and I have him in my current playthrough.
I've married Onmund, Derkeethus, Farkas, Vilkas, Benor and Argis the Bulwark and loved them all. Especially when they call me 'dear'. It's so sweet!

Does anyone else find it weird that Scouts-Many-Marshes and Ulfric Stormcloak are referenced as friends in the Creation Kit? I've tried to figure out a role as to how this makes sense but I've really got nothing.

They are listed as friends so that they can interact and aren't hostile to one another. If they were listed as enemies they would just attack each other on sight. My guess is that the character is also part of the windhelmcrimefaction which means if you attach him you'll go to windhelms prison. The guards won't attack you unless the character has a positive disposition to the guards
Maybe he's secretly being payed as a spy/informer to tell Ulfric of anything going on in the slums (like empire spies or something). Which would explain his non-disdain for Nords.

Another great spouse to find among the Windhelm argonians is Shahvee. You should profile Shahvee in a 3rd part. Lizard wife is an amazing optimist who much like Scouts-Many-Marshes doesn't let the miserable nature of Windhelm get her down. As such I don't think she would ever complain and be great full for whatever house you bring her to.

@Jose C according to UESP net, without mods, there is only 2 apothecary spouses, muiri and the assistant at the white phial in windhelm. so one male, one female... Avrusa is marriageable and should in theory be an apothecary merchant, but it says she isn't?? not sure if the page is wrong (which is pretty rare) or for some reason she is not an apothecary once married for some reason. (sadly i find it easier to believe the game is coded wrong then that website being wrong)

Actually, you don't have to kill anyone in order to marry Muiri. If you invest in Bothela's store you'll gain her favor too (no need to kill Bothela either). There's other way too. Drop an valuable item in front of her (better do it inside The Hag's Cure). This may trigger a conversation between you and her where she asks to keep the item. If you allow her to do so, you'll raise her disposition too.
