A female protester intervenes, urging the mob to stop their attack on Nayuta. Even though the woman killed someone under Nayuta's control, she asks the mob not to resort to such hostility. Nayuta notices Barem reaching for his gun, only to discover he's out of bullets. In a desperate move, Barem points the gun at his own head, pretending that Nayuta is trying to get him to end his own life, further fueling the mob's rage.
Utilizing her chains, she delves into her past as Makima and her mission to disrupt Denji's peaceful life to awaken Chainsaw Man. Nayuta realizes that destroying this peaceful life, in the very same way her past self had, will make her realize who she truly is. Scenes of their shared apartment and various activities they enjoyed together, including playing with dogs, flash by, with Nayuta enjoying herself. Ultimately, they are depicted lying together, with Nayuta teasing Denji as stubborn yet also acknowledging him as both a student and Chainsaw Man. She questions her own role, prompting Denji to affectionately call her family before being interrupted by another voice, his own.
A younger Denji's image taunts his present-day idealization of family, highlighting how he repeatedly sacrificed it to become Chainsaw Man. This reflection triggers a reminder that he killed his own father, abruptly concluding the dream. Subsequently, we find Denji in a hospital room, leaving us uncertain about the extent to which the flashback reflects Nayuta's thoughts.

Ofc, she could obviously redeem herself in the next chapter out-of-the-blue… _But_ for now this is a decisive victory.
Unfortunately, the theory that Nayuta will die dismembered in the fire seems to be happening in the upcoming chapters, Because Fujimoto made an important point, Namely, Nayuta already knew the truth about Makima from the first time she met Denji, and she had the same old goal for Makima, which was to fulfill all of Denji's dreams. Then everything was taken from him, But now she has changed because of Denji's sincere love for her, and this pretty much means that Nayuta's journey is over because Fujimoto previously admitted that he kills his characters if he can't get more out of them. Like what happened to Himeno, Aki, and a lot of the main characters, He also showed a flashback to her, and everyone knows what flashback means for characters in dangerous situations,and in my personal opinion, I see that Fujimoto will not be able to benefit from Nayuta more than he can now.

If Nayuta died so its time for introduce the new Blood Devil and same reintroduce Reze. these two plus Kishibe are the only ones who can really help Denji at this point...

I think the perspective of the flashback switches halfway through. Specifically, right after that weird blurry panel, when it goes from them running outside with the dogs to when they're laying down at night about to go to sleep. I don't see how Denji would be able to know what Nayuta was thinking back then, and I doubt she came out & told him. Plus, it would mean Nayuta's last thought before the mob attacks is of Denji telling her that they are family 🥲
But this was is a great chapter! It felt like old times when I couldn't wait to read the next panel, but was doing so with one eye closed & the other ready to look away because I was worried 😅
I swear, if we get any knocks at the door next chapter, I'm just going to put my phone down & walk away!
Edit: Ok, so after watching the stream, now I'm thinking that it starts off as a Nayuta's flashback until the end of the dog walk. (The blurry/tree panel) Then the part with them lying down before bed is something that they are both remembering. Then it switches to just Dennis when kid Denji shows up. That way, you have both of them thinking about each other being a family when they're separated & things are darkest 😥
I don't think Nayuta is dead. But I do think she's in big trouble & Denji will blame himself 😔

Control Devil is lowkey pretty weak naturally for such a strong concept. It's crazy to compare Nayuta who's basically only had a real win by sneaking up on Asa and losing to a mob of civilians to Makima who was basically the Gojo of part 1. Makes sense how Makima got killed so fast in hell.
Which implies that the Control Devil is naturally weak and Makima lucked out by having a broken contract and training herself to be a decent fighter.

The fact Nayuta talks how she talks now shows how well Denji raised her. The dream Makima yearned for Nayuta got it. Speaking of Makima the pain she put on Denji is insane. In Spanish translation Denji said he killed all his family which included his dad, aki, and power. Everytime Denji gets a piece of happiness and family it inevitable the family is killed because of his actions 😢 People say reason Denji self harms his brain is to keep away his child self from inducing more trauma on him
It's been shown that the four horsemen ignore the chainsaw Devils ability to delete memories of things that he's consumed so they probably also have some ability to remember their past lives or at least that's my take

Thanks for making a point clear, in the french scan (bc I'm french), young Denji says that he killed his own parents and not his own father. So I was kinda disturbed about his mother because, if I'm not stupid, she died because of a heart disease. But anyway, again, thank you for making this clear

I think that the part about Nayuta and her thoughts and then that she checks Denji's head while he is asleep, that is from Nayuta, but then the part about the park and when they are lying down is from the two of them because Nayuta remembers that Denji told her that it is His family and Denji also dream about that and there is where the child Denji appears.

I'm still sticking with Nayuta is gonna take a dark turn because Makima is gonna return in some type of way through Nayuta. I think the worse thing that could happen is Denji having to kill Nayuta which will completely break him, but we all know Fujimoto isn't afraid to make situation's VERY!... dark. 👀 Another thing where the HELL!... is Power isn't she suppose to return in some way? 🤷🏼♂
Man, this chapter was soooo interesting! The crowd was ready to off Nayuta and the one voice of reason in the crowd that told everyone to calm down and then Barem's bum self reignites the confusion going on. He claimed Nayuta was "controlling" him and thus the crowd goes after her again. The backstory of Nayuta and Denji's beginnings was sad knowing that she not only remembered Makima but also wanted to continue being like her continuing where she left off. It was also sad reading how she saw Denji as "empty" even though she's seen his memories. I suppose over time after living life together as family she realized that she actually cares about Denji. He still hasn't overcome his trauma either since he woke up in the hospital remembering what his life was like before being Chainsaw Man.
Again, this was a great chapter imo.

What are you talking about? Nayuta isn't gone, dude. I don't understand how you even came to that conclusion. She's clearly having a rough go at things considering that she just lost her home, her pets, and her guardian. It shows in the chapter that she truly cares about Denji and wants to see him happy (something Makima would never be interested in).
