Broke 3 ribs and ripped the skin off the left side of my face, shredded my knees and palms too. Probably around 2000. I've been fortunate not to break anything else
I went riding solo on a summer evening. My front wheel washed out and I rang my bell pretty hard on a tree. So I took a little nap under that tree until it was dark and I had no lights.
Was riding shirtless (of course) went over a hill, and found a rut and a rock right over the other side. Went over the handle bars and slid down the hill on my chest. The real pain was, that hill was all gravel. Oh well, at least I didn't land on my head, or on a big rock
I was riding the Tsunami trail at Deer Valley Utah went over a roller into a jump that was much shorter than the previous jumps and came in too hot. Woke up with an oxygen mask on surrounded by paramedics. Sometimes the jibs and salsa are too spicy.
So fun to watch this whole thing. For me it seems like your videos get better and better every time. And it's because there are some crashes in it or something like that. It's just the purity of the riding that is portrayed here so incredibly well. My worst crash was recently in Davos in Switzerland on 2.5k masl with a lot of snow on a really technical trail - for my ability. Went OTB and then crashed back first on a ledge. Thank you EVOC for the backpack-built-in protector.
Love your POV videos - for someone who can't ride a bike (me) - I'm admire your skills ! It's also quite interesting that countersteering appears to be a lot more obvious on a bicycle than a motorbike ...
Angle Fire... my neighborhood. Good stuff! Some nice "deer trail" runs just west in the "AZ Alpines" from there.... Worst crash? Superman-ed over bike into a lump of oaks. Peddle caught and, BOOM, flew like a superhero! Was OK... but learned to keep pedals level.
Angle Fire looks fun! Worst crash experience for me was blowing off the top of a berm at Whistler on Original Sin, tumbled through a scree field, hit my head on a car size bolder and ended my helmet. It was straight to the Longhorn after that!
Between you, Seth, and Singletrack Sampler's videos this week highlighting crashing, I will be trying my hardest to keep the rubber side down this weekend. Regardless awesome riding as usual.
Dude another wild ride, thank you for doing what you do to inspire us to keep ridding and get even better. No joke man there is days where I just dont feel like getting out but then i watch your vids and im pumped and ready to rock man. Thank you!!!!! Also, having such great riders that you follow has really taught me to utilize proper technique in the most appropriate of times. Thanks twice!!!
Angel Fire looks like such a great place to ride. Man that crash looked gnarly and he just popped up like, whoops, sorry about that, let's keep riding. And I love the high speed footage at the end. Keep doing those clips, I love'em! 🤘
Nice! I rode there for the first time 2 weeks ago! Super fun and knar, wish I had some peeps to fellow! Took may different lines then you guys did. Including GRAVE YARD ( which no one ride apparently). ☠️ love your stuff Nate! Saw you on a post in the Bike shop!
Well damn I crashed the same way 3 Saturdays ago and my shit is still sore but damn I keep riding too cause going DH is addicting!! Rock on man awesome vid! 🔥🍻
There have been so many, mostly in the last few years. Busted ribs in a couple of stupid, low-speed crashes were bad. But the worst has to be totally misjudging a set of whoops and landing on my face at the bottom. Helmet peak saved my nose and teeth from the worst of it. Cut my knees pretty badly, damaged a rotator cuff. 6 weeks off the bike. Haven’t really got my confidence back since so I’m going to get some coaching to try and get round that... Great edit, as always. Thanks!
Angel fire bikepark lookin sick Worst crash....i fell down a five or six ft high wooden drop head first after I rode it like 3 times or so but i was ok😂🤘
How do you get the gimbal to not bounce and knock everytime you jump and land? Mine does and its really annoying, I am using a GoPro Session which I think adds a little extra extension to the gimbal unbalancing it slightly, also using Zhiyun Rider M
awesome video ! I was there riding dh for my first time for a week this passed summer, I got too riding all the blue trails there, it was so fun! But I rode it all with a hard tail. I am looking for my next bike around 3,000 preferably under but that can handle DH but I normally ride singletrack, have any suggestions?
Knocked myself out in Fruita. Don't remember the crash, don't remember riding out, don't remember the 4 hours in the hospital. Finally joined the real world around Bail. Severe concussion, ribs, and a little rash on my face.
I think you should take Seth on some real scary trails! Make sure he wears his Depends!! ROFL!! Seriously, no way most mortal men could hold your wheel. You have nerves of steel dude, or at least huge balls!
Oh man, that looked painful. I presume your friend is okay, considering he got up and rode the rest of the way and you didn't show up at an emergency room. :-) Curious if you've ever talked with Alex, the Singletrack Sampler? I ask because I see you drive a van and he's looking to buy one. He would probably have some questions for you if y'all haven't already been talking. -Brian
Shawn got off easy. What is your worst crashing experience?
7 broken vertabrae. Told I'd never walk again (1999). Just got back from Moab and Captain Ahab earlier this week, I still walk too...
Broke 3 ribs and ripped the skin off the left side of my face, shredded my knees and palms too. Probably around 2000. I've been fortunate not to break anything else
Nice man, way to overcome! Cant keep a good man down.

Nice "hip placement" right into that sharp rock on the crash. OUCH!! Gotta love the sound of the I-9's rolling.
Yup, the ground is sharp in AF. I run Roval wheels and the sound is indeed soothing....

PHAM Same thing happened to my science teacher except he didn’t have have a backpack and fractured 2 ribs...He got back to teaching 3 days ago
Yikes! Sounds like his impact was a bit harder than mine though ^^

Scandinavian flick for the win!

Nothing throws you on the ground faster than a pedal spike!
Those guys are unreal. Thanks for making the rest of us feel human.

Ha, nice. Glad you went to the Longhorn instead of the ER....
Adam Hart I know that berm... easy to overcook!
Man, I was getting nervous thinking you were crashing! In before the rain, great timing. Loads of 4K dust, another trail I would love to try. Cheers!
All the suspense!

How do you gain the confidence in your tires to just stay hooked throwing down in corners fast?
Mad skills, the amount of pumping was incredible
His yeti was just pissed he was riding like a kangaroo

Gotta keep riding! Get it!!
It's really neat to see you guys tear down the blue flow trails at AF. Usually people post the blacks POV edits.
I like all of the trails there. Thanks for watching 🤘🏻
Really enjoy watching these videos.Guys have great skills too.
He may have taken a nasty tumble but he did not lose a beat when he got back up on the bike! #ManOfSteel
Wow, awesome speed!

what bike do you use?
Knocked myself out in Fruita. Don't remember the crash, don't remember riding out, don't remember the 4 hours in the hospital. Finally joined the real world around Bail. Severe concussion, ribs, and a little rash on my face.
Brutal!
Amazing guys
How long did you have to have your hand like 🤘 to get a 3 second time lapse 😂
Enough to make my shoulder tired, haha!

Shawn was all good, a little banged up. I met Alex in person for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Nice guy.
