      I think they’re discussing bikes that have some legacy in downhill. Supremes are sick but haven’t been around as long as these bikes.

      @jackbecker4866 dude.
      Rethink your words... the Supreme has been around for 20 years. It has won world cups, world championships, countless National titles, podiums at RedBull Rampage...

      @@charlielynes i dont think so dude i think they are talking about the reputation. They are not the only bike brand right? They won but they are not the same ase the one they are talking about and maybe they're the underdog im bike brand

    I have the final version of the thicc fury with the idrive. 2018 i think. The stiffness in that bike feels like your bones will break before anything on that bike breaks. Switch it up to mullet 29-27.5 and single crown fox 38 to decrease stiffness in the front end to lessen arm pump. It does pedal really well for a downhill bike. Too well that i wanna try it as enduro bike but I am not strong enough to withstand the stiffness for prolonged periods. Framewise, i think it's the most durable bike GT has ever produced. PS. It is compatible with a 90mm dropper from one up thus you can set it up as a super enduro bike.

    Great video, just one slight mistake, the V10.4 was a carbon fibre frame with a aluminium rear triangle. The V10.5 was the full carbon fibre version still on 26" wheels and 10" travel (the last true V10). The V10.6 was the 27.5" wheel size and only 8.5" travel

  • @alanbuck83

    The GT Fury you showed was an aluminum fury not the original carbon one fyi. The original was a steal frame pverlayed with carbon and was toted as the first carbon dh bike. The aluminum one was brought to market as a less expensive entry level fury based off of the GT ruckus.

      The title is sort of misleading. They are on about bikes that have evolved and constantly been on the scene. The M1 had a break and is now back though.

    Let's be honest... i can still remember the race that Marc Beaumont "won". He only done so because he was lucky to have a dry run and Sam Hill crashed during his after rain had fallen.

    • @bikeradar
      @bikeradar  Рік тому

      Right, I'm putting my nerd-hat on now! Marc Beaumont won two World Cup DH races. The race you're referring to in 2007 was in Vigo Spain. Marc was on a Santa Cruz V10 (not yet having switched to GT), and did indeed enjoy a run on a dry track, before the rain set in. Hill had a run in the wet and hit his FSA crank on a rock and bent it, but was lucky to stay on the bike and finish 3.55 seconds behind Beaumont in fifth place.
      The race I'm referring to was Marc Beaumont's second World Cup DH win in 2010 in Val Di Sole. Marc put together a scorching run on his GT Fury on a track which was bone-dry, both for him, and all the other racers on the day, including second-placed Greg Minnaar.

    Love the bike design ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L and functionality. It is hard to align the front tired to center the disk brakes. The brake wheel touches the stationery side of the brake caliper and pad. I aired the tire up to 40 psi as the markings say 40-60psi. Left the house for a few hours and came back to an exploded innertube.All in all it seems to be a good bike. Have not ridden it yet though so that's the max of my knowledge. Update, put a new innertube made sure the tire was set properly and it did the same thing in under 20 minutes as second pic shows.

    • @ridesafealways4929
      @ridesafealways4929 Рік тому

      It is supposed to be like that so you can pedal like a mad person while the suspension is moving. Look at old races of gee atherton in that bike, he is pedaling in a dh race 50% of the time even on rough stuff. That bike is for a strong person though because of the stiff design. It is a bike designed for 5 minute DH races.
