Keep in mind, this is pure sightreading. He has never heard the song before. Absolutely amazing. And yes, I do know that this is a matchup of his two performance, but take a look at his Korobeiniki perfomance, and you'll see how good he is.

I’m working on transcribing this to sheet music. It will help me learn it easier and get a better understanding of the rhythm and notes overall. I will give this guy and Tom credit.

IMLR. Koji Kondo did a wonderful job on the song, but the thing that makes me like it more is Tom’s own personal flare to the music.

Keep in mind that Tom Brier had never heard this song before sight reading it. His first play through had some mistakes but his second play through sounded just like in this video. Amazing!

How do you get realistic piano sounds for synthesia?
You render the sound with a better VST, like Pianoteq for example
Buy a midi piano
Old comment but I had to workaround this one for making videos like these. I recorded synthesia with no sound and then went to Logic Pro X and imported the same midi but with a realistic piano sound font and I overlayed the audio with the video in post.
If you buy the latest version. there's a great built in synth. If you don't want to pay, get version 9,6 and cool soft virtual midi synth, the nicekeys plus steinway free sf2 from soundfonts 4U.

It depends on the video, from 10 to 40 hours of work I'd say. This one was fairly simple because it's short, second half is a repetition with modifications and even then some of the patterns stay the same.
