how come at 33:30 you can't just drop down with the fruit and the creature? why does it have to be done that way and so precisely? seems like a time loss to me, but then I'm not familiar with Pikmin 3 speedruns yet =)
There’s suppose to be a bridge there and you’re not intended to reach the boss arena without it, so your pikmin don’t know how to pathfind as they don’t see it as a ledge they can drop down.
There's been a few times where I exit the Formidable Oak's cave with some pikmin just left on their own in there, and the instant I exited they all died. How do you prevent this?
instead of calling out 16 reds 11 rocks 16 wings 10 blues he called out 14 reds 12 rocks 15 wings 15 blues. he then put 4 reds on the bridge pieces instead of 10 blues and put 20 pikmin (blues and rocks) on the grapes instead of 10 reds. he whistled the 20 pikmin back which allowed him to skip going back to the bridge pieces to collect the blues but instead allowed him to walk straight to the persimmon.

I just noticed that when the pikmin are drowning, it plays a snippet of the "Big boss intro"
The text isn’t Japanese it’s Mandarin Chinese which is the fastest scrolling text language which is handy for speed runs
in this game mandarin Chinese is faster.

ultra spicy spray, temporarily makes pikmin faster and do more damage
