This is great advice. When I was in my early twenties I embraced a modest look with a short neat haircut. Earth tone colors. Very safe. Women would look at me like I was invisible. I decided to embrace edgier look like when I was a teenager when I was about 27. I grew my hair out. Got some highlights. Got a nose piercing. Sometimes I even paint my nails a shimmering nude color. I now have an awesome girlfriend and confidence. Quick Tip: tell you family to stop buying you clothes as gifts.

Now that I'm 38 turning 39, married and just had a baby my interest in fashion has diminished a little. When I was single, I was into fashion, dressing, looking and smelling good because I wanted to impress women and my future wife. For a hobby, I began reading collecting books, especially antiquarian books, Books from the 1800's, 1700's even 1600's. Hunting and buying these books gives me serotonin because Im just at awe that I own things that's more than a hundred years old. I also took up fishing and golfing as a hobby. These are the things I'm obsessed with these days. I still take care of myself, I still put the effort to dress well BUT I'm not obsessed with fashion that much anymore like I was when I was still single. This begs me to ask the question: Is being obsessed with fashion a single guy thing? Because you want to look good to impress potential partners. I mean, If we think about it, if there was no women, would men even out up the effort to look good?

Looking well groomed and put together is the first step. Then it's all about seeming confident. Like antonio said make jokes these show that you're confident. Tell a story when it comes to funny ones a self deprecating one is best as it shows you're not vain. It is also best to make sure that the story is related enough that it is not coming out of left field. If you struggle with socialising that's understandable so did I, but this is the case where fake it till you make it really works. Finally it is worth knowing alot about stuff you might not be that interested in but other people commonly enjoy as people love when they're able to have an intellectual conversation with you about something they enjoy.

😂 If you have been around women, they don't work like that. If you are good-looking and acting confident, that's great. If you are ugly looking and say the same thing, you will be "arrogant" or "trying to hard" or something else like that... 😂Another example would be if you are good-looking but "shy," it will be interpreted as you are "mysterious" or "sensitive in a good way." But be ugly and shy, and you will be "nerdy loser" or "creep" or something like that. It's called "halo effect" and "horn effect" and its perpetuated by Hollywood casting - where the best looking actors are usually "good guys" and ugly actors play "bad guys" and "creeps"... Now, what actually works is if you are 5 and you are acting confident around 5, you will have some success. But if you are a 5 and act confident around 9s they will not respond to that the same way for the reasons I explained above...

    • @snobbishbeast8146

@@georgeconstanza6505 I'm going to say a couple of things mate. I'm shorter than average, my face isn't great and has a decent bit of acne and I am a nerd in every sense of the word and I am not well built, however I'm not obese. When I got myself together a bit more and got better style I became more confident that allowed me to be more outgoing. In terms of being arrogant the whole point of self-deprecating humour is to show that you aren't. People also won't immediately reject you if they see that you are at least a decent person. If I as a below average person could manage to attract a 10 then you who are probably at least average have a chance too.

    • @georgeconstanza6505
      @georgeconstanza6505 Місяць тому +2

@snobbishbeast8146 Most of your reply is beside the point. You are not addressing my main points because they can't be disputed. Everybody starts with a different set of odds in this life. But we are told to ignore it and "shoot for the moon," which benefits the society/culture as a whole but rarely benefits all the individuals. We all know about Bill Gates and Microsoft, Michael Jordan, or I don't know - president Reagan. But we have a very strong survivorship bias as a society. For every hyper successful story, there are thousands of stories of failures and misery. There are only a few spots at the top of every society, business, profession, sport, etc. Now, what we can do is play into our strengths and minimize our weaknesses. But very often, the message we are giving to people is - anybody can achieve anything. Like a kid with 80 IQ can become a self-made billionaire or somebody with 5'6" height can make a huge career in NBA. And I can come up with hundreds of examples like that. And we tend to downplay things that people can't change about themselves to make them feel better and to make our accomplishments feel like something we purely achieved thanks to our character at the same time. Things like IQ, height, what country you were born in, what kind of family, are you handsome or not - those play much bigger role than people want to admit. People like to downplay these as much as they can because it's hard to cope with that. Like a 6'5" men will be thinking, I must have worked way harder than the 5'10" guy, that's why I am in NBA and not him. Instead of thinking to himself, if I was the same guy but shorter I would be most likely fucked...
People will always come up with a story about how they know this one guy who is short and ugly and his wife is a perfect 10. Or a guy that has made billions of dollars or is 5'4" and plays professional sports. It's not a somehow a proof that anybody can make it. That's what you get with big numbers - if there are tens of thousands of companies started every year - eventually, there will be one that makes it big like Amazon. There will always be outliers, but those are not the "norm".
So, in conclusion, your age, looks, height, IQ, and other things are usually a strong predictor of what you can achieve in your life.
Now, are there people who will get dealt pocket aces and still fuck it up? Yes, just like there will be some people who will get dealt 72 and get unbelievable lucky to overcome that. But in general, there will always be a hierarchy as long as humanity exists. And if everybody was 6 feet tall and was making a million dollars per year and had 6" you know what, then women would just move the post. That's how we got this far as species. It's all relative in comparison to others. If you are 5'10" and everyone else is shorter - all of a sudden, you are the "guy" to be reckoned with... Same with money - if everybody makes less than 100,000 a year and you make millions, it's the same thing. Evolutionary speaking, we have twice as many unique female ancestors as male ancestors. That tells you a story! Look it up! We celebrate the winners and never think twice about the losers... Even though we couldn't have one without the other... Males on the upper end will breed with multiple women - either getting married multiple times in modern days. Back in the day, kings would have "legitimate " and illegitimate children or in some cultures harems. Then there would be the average Joe with one wife and many guys at the bottom who were killed in battles or died doing dangerous jobs and so on...

I do pretty much everything opposite to be attractive. I’m clean and neat. But definitely don’t dress up or put I any extra effort to look good.
Just ask my wife when she first met me. Old poor fitting sweat pants with bleach stains.white t shirt with stains on them. Birkenstock with socks on. Yeah. That’s me.
My wife? Stunning and unbelievably beautiful. She literally stops traffic. My favorite story is we were crossing the street in Paris. Cops suddenly turn on their sirens to an emergency. The driver sees my wife, car stops, sirens blaring and jaw drops. She signals him to pass though. But he just keeps looking at her. For a good 5 seconds I would say.
Reference image for y’all? She looks like Megan Fox/ Angelina Jolie. But a natural blonde.
She is also incredibly intelligent. Working at a Fortune 500 company where she sat with the big wigs.
Anyway. We meet in a coffee shop. And sat and laugh and laugh and laugh for hours. And it has been pure magic since.
I asked her years later what she saw in me the way I looked. She said. I could see who you were regardless of how you dressed. That wasn’t important to me. I saw you for who you were. Not what you appeared to be.
My advice for all you guys out there who want quality vs quantity. Be yourself. Dress the way you want to. Of course. Be neat and clean. But don’t dress the way who you are not. Do not act against your character. That, in my opinion, is lying. And leads to nothing but disappointment.
I am beyond respectful of my wife when we’re still dating. She didn’t mind at all going to Carls, el Pollo Loco, Applebee’s (fancy date).
She supported and believed in me to elevate me to achieve us flying first class everywhere, staying at places like The Ritz in London and being invited to ‘help/clelebrate’ picking grapes at someone’s vineyard in Champagne. This is literally how we live our lives. It is a dream life that no one will ever see posted on social media.
Posers lead a poser life. Strong successful men are quiet and fly under the radar to achieve their goals.
