ram/hydraulic cylinder repair shop Cabriolet Hydraulics 3007 62nd Ave E Bradenton, FL 34203
I have the same problem and Mitsubishi said they don't sell parts to fix it. The hydraulics shop sells the parts, but doesn't do the repair, so I'll have to figure it out. Thanks for taking the time to make the video. I'm sure it will help a lot of people.
Where is there a shop that sells the parts?
Thanks for this video. I have a same color 2007 as you and the left hinge is leaking at the lower tube connection. I plan to replace both right and left sides as it’s just a matter of time to failure of the seals in the big block. I hadn’t investigated how to do the removal so your video helped, especially with the access from inside at the back seat sides. I plan to get the refurbished hinges with improved Viton seals from Tophydraulics.
No Brian the lines come out of the cylinder fairly easy I used a needle nose pliers just be careful to remove the clips holding the lines in first
Thanks great vid I need to cycle my top
Yes you do
I cant figure out how to open the top to get to the hydraulic tank, the thing behind the speaker moves itself when i press the button but the top doesnt go up
Thanks! I have an 07 that may need attention, so appreciate your tips! Did you lubricate any of the top segments?
I just applied a little grease to o rings on the lines that go into the cylinders make sure you get them in straight sorry I don't know the part numberthe shop that rebuilt the cylinders gave me new o rings remember it takes the special oil that I described in the video
Hey there-I've got an 07 with an inoperative top myself. I was curious as to which part did you take out and have repaired-the cylinder? (I'm in the Cape, just south of you, so that shop is convenient to me as well.) I'm trying to figure out if this is something I could address myself. Had the same problem a few years ago and it was $1500 to fix!
to be honest with you I really didn't know what I was doing be I did figure it out at time there wasn't any help on the net so I just took stuff apart and got it fixed sorry for not getting back to you sooner???
@@cruzinwithdjchaz7003 my top does not function nothing no noise would you know the problem the car gets no power to top trying to fix
How do I put the top up manually
you have to use the tool in the speaker cover to unlock the top first. then you can put the top up hand after turning the t handel on the pump.
@@cruzinwithdjchaz7003 thanks
I also have a leak. But I believe it is the cylinder on that same side as yours. I thought you needed special machine to remove/install the lines. I will try to replace the o-ring. Do you have a part number for the o-ring?
Do you recommend replacing the top as a DIY project? I'm in Charleston, SC. Wondering if Cabriolet recommends a place near me. Did they do the top for you? Where did you get your top from?
the company listed below gave me the o rings I would check with the rebuilders in your area for them.
NO!!!
My 2007 convertible top is locked in the down position. How do I get the cover up so I can see where my leak is
In the center of the back seat you will find a panel that you will find a L shaped tool that you will insert into a hole that will unlock the convertible top cover so you can manually pull it up
I bought the correct hydraulic fluid and refilled the container ,pushed close the open several times finally it closed, l lost just about all the fluids I put in,but at least I got it closed. Now I need to know where the leak is. How did you know that that block was leaking? The leak is on the passenger side somewhere.
@@BeverlyNugent-j2i I put a GoPro camera and a flashlight and found the leak
I have the same problem how i can contact you?
email at race94fl@yahoo.com
After I did this all I get is a three long beeps when I try to open the top. I have not been able to fix the problem in months. Any ideas?
sorry no
The only thing I can think of is to try and recycle a few times up and down it may help to use the tool lock and unlock the tonneau cover a number of times also
