The plug was modified to a molex plug since the plugs it came with did not fit my bike. The MT250 is a 2 stroke and it still seemed to work perfect. I have not set the wheel size or amount of cylinders.
tachometer solution - (Honda CBX 750) capacitor 20-90 nF and resistor
100 kOhm. Signal line from coil (spark unit) to 1. leg of cap., from 2.
leg of cap. to signal wire of tacho. Resistor- from 2. leg of cap to
the ground. Good Luck
Given up on this bit of junk. When I run it from the battery it causes weak spark and poor engine running but fine when I use external power supply. It aint a problem with the battery as it's a gel batt and pumping out loads of power. Gona bit the bullet and spuff a load of cash on a decent one.
Oh, to enter setup mode hold the button while powering on, you may have to do this a couple of times

can it be mounted to the bike with analog speedometer? So to convert to digital? I just have to mount the magnets somehow?

What color is the Fuel level wire? Is it the same one that is listed as oil on some of the instructions?

Your MT has a points type ignition, right? Or is it a CDI ignition? You connected the tach wire directly to the low voltage side of the coil. on the negative wire (the one that goes down to the points), yes?
I am pretty certain it is points. Yes, I connected the tach wire to the negative of the coil. I am pretty sure you are correct. The reason I connected it to the coil vs the points wiring is that the coil was closer.
how about a honda tmx 155 coil has a negative body on the coil do I connect in there?
OK.. lots of comments and replies, but can you tell me exactly how you wired the rpm cable?
I have a 72 CB450. No CDI or impulse generators here. I suppose yours is the same and that's why i'm looking at your video to understand how.
Did you connect it directly to the positive to the coil? Wrapped around the lead to the spark plug? What else is there?

What I did specifically, was connect it directly to the Negative side of the coil. I hope that helps.

Take the RPM wire from gauge and connect it to the Negative side (green wire) of the coil. Hopefully that is a better explanation.
I've got this and it's generally working ok, but i need to program in 4 cylinders and the wheel circumference (I'm right in thinking you measure the length covered by one rotation of the wheel and input in mm?). Any idea how to do this? I tried holding the button on the back but not much happened.

Sorry for the late reply. I think you are right about the measurement. That's what I had done. One thing that I didn't mention is in case you only have one cylinder, You don't touch the cylinder setting. At least that is what I read in another doc.
Hello, I got a gauge just like yours for a 2 stroke but can not get the rpm right... How did you do?
I left most of the settings alone. If you leave the cylinder setting alone it leaves it to 2 stroke and the rpm's should match like I showed side by side in the video. Good luck and thanks for watching!

I sometimes do things on the fly. I made a weak mounting plate that will get replaced with something better. I didn't want to add a video of me wiring it up because it would not be the same on all Motorcycles.
Will it reset the milage back to zero if the bikes battery is removed? Sorry if you mentioned that in the video.

You have switched 12v and 12v mixed.
I think Alexander may be correct. There should be a 12v switch and a 12v constant.

By ground it what do you mean? because the tach gauge has to be grounded to light up. Or do you mean go to the fuel gauge in the tank and ground it?
Attach the fuel level wire to ground.
I've attached it to the ground but it still keeps flashing. I have also gone through the different resistance settings and nothing has changed. I wished the dang thing came with a manual.
128Btc Well its a chinese gauge what did you expect lol. Try putting the live wire on the engine block. That should do the trick.

What is the wire that connects the rpm and how do I connect it to the coil?
I think there is two models and the cabling will vary. But the wire is is Purple and Black. You should be able to connect it to the Negative on the coil. Good Luck.

Yes you are correct, you should do the 12v direct. This will keep your miles and other settings.

You are going to have to create a custom bracket for the sensor. The magnets themselves fit perfect on the bolts of the disc brake. The sensor would just need to be lined up as it makes its turns. I hope that helps.

Sorry for not replying sooner, I think you can but you will have to figure out the rewiring like I did. Check out the description for the wiring diagram. If your old tach is cable driven you will just connect the rpm wire to the negative of the coil.

I believe your gs750 has a CDI. Check out this quick video, as it might help. ua-cam.com/video/Uc0HANdYbFI/v-deo.html . You have to run a cap and resistor to get it to work properly.
does it works on 2 strokes engine?

I guess you solved it now. But for anyone else wondering, you have to connect to the negative wire on the PRIMARY side ofc. If i understood correctly, between the tacho and the negative wire of the coil you have to filter the signal with a capacitor (around 140nf). I didn't do it yet since i'm waiting for components but you can find the intel on related videos. Good luck.
If you ground the fuelwire it will stop flashing and display full tank
Thanks for the info, I'm glad you brought it up. When I tried grounding the Fuel wire it didn't do anything. Leading me to believe that I might just have a messed up gauge.

Mine did not work as well on fuel. I had to go to the main menu and selected 1 to 5. As soon as did hold for the next 5 secs after setting number 5, the speedometer restarted and the fuel reading was working ok. The tricky part is to get it reboot i guess after setting number 5.
Connections/wiring:
For the two wires of the sender unit from the tank, grounded one and the other connected to blue-white (signal wire) of the speedometer.
Anybody knows how to make the gas tank stop blinking and how to connect the rpm?
People have had luck with the gas gauge by grounding it. RPM depends on the type of ignition. I hooked mine up to the negative side of the coil. Good Luck, thanks for watching.
how did you set the rpm...?? i try it to my vfr 750 but rpm doesn't work....
I routed a cable from the gauge to the coil. For me it was a green wire, which was the negative wire.

Buy a pulsgenerator ( kit for learning electronics) and connect to the speedsensor cable. I baught and soldered my kit for under 8$ and had it running for a few days to get right milage
