It must've taken less than $100, including parts I had on hand, to get the system going. And that's for around 30 feet of overhead line. Thanks for watching!
Nice work looks like some lines in the Chicago area. Growing up used to see a lot more of them not so many. Might want to check out the trolley museum in south elgin I’ll very cool and they still run them on the weekeneds
Nope. The wire slides across the width of the pantographs in most places. And there is actually very little tension between the panto and wire. Thanks!
Maybe later? It's not really my style to not have music. I appreciate the feedback, though. Few of the parts are 3D printed, if that's what you're asking. Most of the parts are basic hardware store bought materials (tubing, hooks, plastic) and some of the parts are Lionel (Floodlight tower parts, signal gantry, etc). I might make a more detailed video. Thank you for the comment!

I absolutely LOVE this!! 😊
Looks awesome and I like where you're going with the new layout. 💯
Very nice run, looks like a good time. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Great video!
Your catenary system looks professionally made but without the professional cost. Great work on your design and running session.

Maybe someday they'll be more common.
Looks awesome! Any issues with wear on the Pantagraphs yet?

Can we have a version with the original running sound?
No music
Just steel on steel
Where is the catenary from 3d ?

Come on, the right music adds another dimension to the experience. Movies without a good soundtrack are dull and often boring.
Lionel. It's a custom paint. Thanks for asking@@N_scale
