Ok but the ironic side to this @22minutes is that my husband is Polish and I am Jamaican and he always eats the spicy food. I cannot eat anything spicy; so he is the white guy who orders the jerk chicken, curry goat and absolutely loves it😂😂😂.
One Friday night at job's end all of we construction workers brought our wives to the MEXICAN restaurant nearby the job site. We had all contributed to a Jumbo ESKY full of delicious beers, on ice. Ten hard working thirsty men. When the menu came around we ordered some 'starters'. SOME FOOL decided to tell the wait staff to " make 'em HOT. We are MEN". The women ordered separately, with a knowing look and a suspicion that things might not go well. They were right. Every dish was just so morish, tasty and was stuffed down with relish. BUT, Even before the main dishes came out, some men were crying, some choking, some crawling under the table, ( to get at the extra ice in the esky box). Do you know that not Ice nor Beer does much to quench the heat of raw chilli. NOW, NOW I do. The restaurant staff were beginning to worry for our well being and our sanity and refused to make the main dishes quite so firey. OK< the wives and girlfriends too were getting mad at us for laughing, crying, throwing ice and being almost sick with spitting. Avocado settled my mouth down... a bit. We used quickly sourced big girly boxes of tissues to wipe manly eyes, wipe snotty noses.. The meal continued with much milder foods. We settled down a little bit with only the odd "Double DARE YOU" , to eat a spoon full of this or that from the starters, much of which remained at meal's end. We did drink about a six pack of beer each and demolish a great deal of tequila in Margaritas made from a box of lemons fresh from one bloke's back yard tree. The Booze Bus dropped out bodies at residences across town and all work was cancelled for the rest of the weekend. The stories of that fearsome meal still cause tears to form in the eyes of those present ; tears of remembered pain from those present, and tears of laughter from those younger fellows not then working on that jobsite. We point to that occasion now as a Male Bonding moment like that Shakespearean play when the King leads his men through the firey battle and conquers all. " We few, we mighty few", will echo through a semi complete building, even now, years later. Those veterans will stand taller, breathe deeply of the dusty air and look for easy access to the toilets, just in case.
As a mexican, I laughed too much at this skit, and yes, I eat spicy, like habaneros and stuff, and every now an then I used to k1ll some friends with the habaneros, and right after saw them dying in pain, I laughed so hard, but because of the fact that we're mexicans, but them can't handle spicy meals🤣🤣🤣
Yup, i'm the white guy that the kitchen staff watch when i order the hottest possible on the menu and not even break a sweat. It used to be a competition at a vindaloo place in Vancouver.
EMS was on standby and he STILL died! Someone didn't do their job of keeping him alive but I'm not sure who. The guy or the paramedics? 😂

Since when is Caribbean food hot? Delicious yes, but not spicy - at least not compared with some Indian or Thai dishes for example.
