    I love them all but the colours in that leaf cane are gorgeous together and I think all of them turned out great. I would be proud of any of them and thank you for showing us when you don't think things have gone right. Hugs xx

      You're welcome. I'm surprised that so many of you like the mistakes. Thank goodness because I couldn't imagine having to keep re-doing videos or spending all day editing!

    I actually liked that 8-Petal cane, I thought it looked cool❣️ I also liked the leaf cane you made, the colors were beautiful together. The leaf where you put two 4-part leaves together looked like a cool fan leaf. When you showed this leaf along with some of the flower canes you made this week I thought of your “Game Changer” technique you demonstrated several videos ago. Each of the color combinations of the flower/leaf canes would give really nice results once the texture was shaved off. I think your creations are great and unique, that’s partly why it is so fun to watch. Thank you, again, for sharing even when you’re not sure you like it 😊 🧡💙💛🤍

    They all look good, and I would love to see the ones that failed before this video, because those fails are part of the process, and sometimes they just exercise before you get going

    I loved all of it. I think you are being too hard on yourself. Your cane work is beautiful & the leaf is very pretty.❤ what I loved about your video that no one else does, you say what can be done with the items you made. That's a great addition.

    Hi. I’m watching you make this piece and I need help. I’m fairly new to this craft and when I try to make the fan fold piece and you have to make it into a roll I mess up every time. So frustrating! Could you maybe do one a little slower and more detailed? I get one side to round off but the other side just caves in on itself and messes up. I’ve tried several of your pieces and get to this point and I failed every time. I appreciate you showing us how to do it. You are a fine illustrator but I need some help. Thank you for so many beautiful pieces. I watch you almost everyday.

      I'm not sure where you're having the problem. It's just scrap clay that is formed into a triangle. I am lost where you say, " You make it into a roll"
      I'd have to watch the video again but if you could tell me where in the video you're stuck, I could try and help more

      I can make the fan fold fine. Then you took it down on the edges to make it into a roll or petal shape. One side rounds
      off but the other side just folds in making a groove not round. You made another piece with orange and yellow clay doing the same method and it didn’t come right for me. I forget what it was called but you made it the same way. I tried it and when I try to reduce it it just disappears. I know it’s probably the way I do it but it’s my lack of knowing how and I need help with it. I love working with the clay and my mess ups are not wasted, I just make something else. But I really want the learn the right way because I love your designs.

    Can you make a round top again after it’s flattened?

    • @TheCreativeDork5
      @TheCreativeDork5  Рік тому

      You can but you have to do it carefully so you don't have too much distortion. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't so if yours doesn't, don't be hard on yourself.

  • @gayefletcher5257

    Ok. It’s time to ask an expert. I’m trying to make a skinner blend and having trouble. I know how to do the teardrop and squares like in this video but the more I blend the shorter the piece gets. I know as blend starts it will grow length wise but mine shrinks width wise to almost nothing. How do you work it so you get a full sheet. Where am I making the mistake?

    • @TheCreativeDork5
      @TheCreativeDork5  Місяць тому

      How much clay are you starting with?

      @@TheCreativeDork5 I usually cut 2 inch squares or make tear drops with one whole block or less.

    • @gayefletcher5257
      @gayefletcher5257 Місяць тому

      @@TheCreativeDork5 it all shrinks up to about an inch or a little more but not much. Making the long strips very short. Can’t make much of a plug with that

    • @TheCreativeDork5
      @TheCreativeDork5  Місяць тому

      That doesn't make sense why it would shrink so much. I do 2 inch squares, 2 of each color. If it's 3 or more, I will put those in a teardrop shape. After I put it through the pasta machine a few times I changed the thickness to a three. That makes it go a little faster and it does spread it out farther across the whole pasta machine. Without seeing exactly what you're doing I couldn't tell you what you're doing wrong but I don't think you're doing anything wrong

    • @gayefletcher5257

      @@TheCreativeDork5 thank you. I’ll just keep trying. I watched someone last night who helped me get a better color blend but by the time it was done my strip was only about one inch wide. I appreciate your help and you teach me something new every time I watch one of your videos.

    Do you sell your made items? Seeing your pics…your voice doesn’t match it! Isn’t it weird how you form a picture of someone from their voice and then it isn’t at all who you imagined.

    • @TheCreativeDork5
      @TheCreativeDork5  Рік тому

      Yes you can round it I'd it flattened but the results can be bad sometimes. I am hoping to sell if life slows down for me to list....and yes, like a book vs movies. I have my own character in my head. Seeing it throws me off
