There IS sound. UA-cam glitches. If you’re experiencing no sound, refresh.
Thanks for all your support, as usual! Special thanks to those who have donated via the ‘thanks’ button. It’s greatly appreciated, and helps towards the cost of providing free tutorials. ❤️
The ‘thanks’ button is located next to the like/share buttons underneath each tutorial. If you have found this tutorial via a link, you won’t be able to see the thanks button…you need to log into UA-cam directly. You can also support me by liking, commenting and sharing my videos. This helps with UA-cam algorithms and boosts my videos. Thank you!❤
Update: someone just pointed out one of my measuring sticks was 2mm instead of 2.5. Ooops! I guess I need new glasses 🤣. Not that it makes any difference at this point…it’s a done thing. Please don’t do as I did 🤣

Until UA-cam, bringing me you and a number of other artists, I did not know the proper way to use the various clays with each other. I'm still waiting to dive into the box of Cernit metallics and Pardo clays I've been collecting..Must put together all of the pieces I've already made before running off with another 'mistress'.@@clayboutique

These are very elegant and beautiful, I love them. Truly love the toggles and charms too - they add to the elegance. I finally made 2 pieces of polymer clay jewellery for myself, 2 days ago. I've had the clay for 4 years!!! I've been watching your tutes for just over a year now, and finally got around to doing it - what fun!!! But, OMG I see what you mean about the gold and silver leaf - what a nightmare!!! I have to say, you make it look so elegant and easy!! It gets everywhere doesn't it. I'm going to try this out tomorrow. I've had M. E. for 11 years, but had to stop working in 2015 as it got worse. I've got 3 years to go (come this January) till I can retire, so I'm always looking for ways to make a bit of money. The trouble is, it takes ages for me to get motivated. I live in a tiny flat too, so I only have my dining table to make stuff on. It takes a while to get tools etc out, then have to put it all away again afterwards, so that's why I put things off. But you really do inspire me, and you're beautiful creations are my reason for persevering. Thank you for your endlessly brilliant tutorials. xx

Hi Deb, that's horrible that you've had M. E for over 20 years, and having to give up teaching too. I think you still are a great teacher, your superb tutorials prove that. I think that M. E. is more recognised in America, but thank goodness, it is being more recognised these days eh. Take care, xx

Thank you for another enjoyable and inspiring video. I noticed you mentioned muddy clay and was wondering if you have tried "Blackout" clay. It is a Kato clay and it only takes a small amount (chick pea size) to transform muddy clay into black. It sure helps with that guilty feeling of wasting clay--everyone can use more black! Love you!

Might it be easier with the sheet og Gold Leaf to keep it between the 2 papers and cut the width of the log then roll onto the leaf? Im in bed so cant try this myself but if i don't say it now ill completely forget by the time i get back to you or PC. I admit ive worked more with the jars of leaf lieces more because i found the sheets a bit snippy 😂
Thank you for another awesome Tutorial! And try to go easier on yourself about the trials that become errors, in your opinion, even if they are thats nothing to feel badly about, not every idea will be genius, and even if the idea is genius, it can take many tries to implement it in the way you're pleased but that isn't wasred materials nor time. I'm a perfectionist about my own stuff too so truly im not trying to be hard on you about how you do you. I just hope you realize that your fans are thrilled with what you cone up with and show us and we are fans ocmf YOU, too. We like your personality, your teaching style and enjoy spending our time 'with' you!

    • @clayboutique
      @clayboutique  11 місяців тому +1

Not really. Not for me, anyway. Me and metal leaf are nemesis.
As for the rest of it, I don’t really know what you’re referring to, because this is an older video, but I’m pretty sure I wasn’t being hard on myself. I’m aware that things don’t always go to plan, but it doesn’t bother me, and I don’t feel badly about it. It’s part of the territory. I’m not a fan of wasting my clay, but it is what it is. So, when I do say stuff like, ‘I screwed up,’ I’m not condemning myself for it, it’s just a statement, and being realistic. I make mistakes. And when I say I made mistakes, I made mistakes. That’s not being hard on myself. There’s nothing wrong with realizing where you went wrong, because it only means you can find a better way.
      Thanks.

I don't know if this will help; in glassblowing/bead making we tend to pre-cut strips of 23K gold and fine silver leaf by sandwiching between scrap printer paper; the stuff is so expensive that we try not to waste it.
You can even get decent shapes by using this method with craft paper cutters; good for surface applications under resin.

Beautiful pieces. I love how translucent Cernit is.
I think I have one 2oz block. I need to invest in a big boy one. LoL
Question, I was just wondering, why is the first piece really white and the others are a little darker. Usually that's from overbaking (been there, done that) but they were baked at the same time/temp. I mean, they're all gorgeous. But the slightly darker ones seem like they have more depth. 🤷‍♀️ The sparkle is amazing.

No, none of them were over baked, so not sure what you’re seeing. May just be the lighting. They were all the same ‘whiteness’ in real life 🤷‍♀️

Have you tried utter cream for severely dry skin? It is what the farmers use on cow utters. I love it and it works! Go to bed every night with cotton gloves on.

Perhaps 'udder' cream might be better? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Just a thought: Would it be easier to gold leaf if you leave the "inbetweeners" where they are, and cut through the two "betweeners" and the leaf in the middle, all at once, like a sandwich?? And then letting just the top one of the "betweeners" "hold" the gold leaf when you go to put it on the clay- and then you remove the "betweener" sheet. I have no experience with this leaf thing, but figured I would put my thought out there, in case it would work/help someone...... Love your videos and creativity!!! Hugs, Katla in Norway 🤗🤗

Ok, I’ve read this about ten times, trying to decipher what you meant. In all honesty, I doubt it would make any difference for me, personally, which is why I do it the way I do it. You have to do what’s easiest for you. Metal leaf is messy, period lol

I really enjoyed this so much. Lovely pieces and your explanation of your thought process is helpful (like you I have wonderful ideas but unlike you I’m still trying to figure out how to get them from paper to tangible!😊) Thank you.
