@John Wallace the great thing about science is we are always learning and expanding our knowledge. No intelligent scientist would say something is “whack” just because they didn’t understand it. Look at CBD and how our knowledge of it has grown. Some forms of alternative medicine have been used for hundreds, or even thousands, of years. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying don’t knock it til you try it.

It is an IRS-qualified medical expense, meaning if you itemize deductions, you can claim it as a medical expense; the IRS does not allow just any old thing to qualify as a medical expense. And it is covered by insurance. It’s a legit medical treatment and has been recognized in Western medicine as such for a long time.

I would’ve loved for them to consult an MD on this, the acupuncture, and the chiropractor videos. Just have to find someone who can explain the medical benefits/risks and why these practices may or may not work without being condescending. Some doctors are very open to a mix of non traditional and traditional medicine while others will fully dismiss what may be beneficial practice for some people when done safely and correctly.
